I would have LOVED to see a reaction to this remake since I actually like the remake WAY more than the original... and I'm an '80s baby! Unfortunately, Cassie has already seen the remake :( Maybe if Carly hasn't seen it, they could still do it... maybe!

You should do a poll where you watch the remakes of films like this.

Just wanted to leave a quick comment on how this channel, whilst so enjoyable rewatching old movies, has also led me to watch some movies I had avoided (for whatever reason), this being one of them. Loving the channel as much as I do, I finally watched Footloose, and although, always loving the music I had thought the film would be a bit twee and lightweight, but I loved it. So much so, I rewatched with my family the following night. So a big thank you to Cassie and Carly, for all the great content, and reactions, you are still, by far, the best of the bunch on YouTube.

I would actually pay to see that.

Hi Carly, I love seeing you and Cassie doing reactions together. I think Cassie enjoys them a lot more having her sister by her side. If you guys would like to see Kevin Bacon at the top of his game as an actor, check out " Digging To China " also starring Evan Rachel Wood and Mary Stuart Masterson it is brilliant and beautiful, ignore the low score from Rotten Tomatoes that site is full of too many haters who don't know their backsides from a hole in the ground when it comes to what really matters in great cinema, if it doesn't have a bunch of blood and gore or unnecessary sex and nudity they do not like it, says more about them than the movie. Also, since you are such a big fan of Reese Witherspoon, you have to watch her very first acting role " The Man in The Moon " also starring Jason London, I think she was only 14 yrs old already Oscar worthy and so adorable. βπ

I agree with all of your suggestions, "Overboard" is one of my all-time favorites. I was reminded of another one of my all-time favorites by 2 of your suggestions, "Some Kind of Wonderful" and "Moonstruck". I think Cassie and Carly would fall in love with "Mask" Starring Eric Stoltz, Laura Dern, Cher and Sam Elliot. The line spoken by Eric Stoltz's character Rocky when he is describing to Laura Derns character Diana what clouds look like, "This is Billowy" still breaks me to this day, it is based on a true story which is even more heartwarming.

I prefer and adore the 2011 version! That's the beauty of all movies being subjective.

Some other cute 80s movies that I think Cassie & Carly would enjoy: Some Kind of Wonderful, Overboard, Moonstruck, Splash, and Parenthood.

I would be remiss if I didn't bring up the old joke: Why do Southern Baptists* frown on premarital sex? Answer: Because it could lead to dancing.

If you saw Gremlins (which came out the same year), you might have recognized Frances Lee McCain, once again playing the main character's mother.

Since we're focusing on Kevin Bacon, here is some reading inspired by the game in your last livestream:

(Further advanced reading for math nerds:

And apropos John Lithgow, my favourite scene with him is his last one in The Accountant (2016). (No spoilers! (other than π))

I would like to nominate an excellent Kevin Bacon movie, "Digging to China" also starring Evan Rachel Wood and Mary Stuart Masterson, in my opinion some of his best work as an actor. I believe you guys would also love "Patch Adams" Starring Robin Williams, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Monica Potter, and for a really good feel good /comedy " Mrs. Doubtfire" Starring Robin Williams, Sally Field and Pierce Brosnan. βπ

Imagine how different this would have been with a less brilliant actor than John Lithgow. The preacher character could've easily been a cartoonish bad guy.

For a tense Kevin Bacon movie, try the River Wild, starring Meryl Streep, about a family on a rafting trip.

As enjoyable as it is to watch you and Carly experience some of the more dramatic pieces of cinema, sometimes you just need a feel good movie. Your reactions were fantastic and the enjoyment and happiness both of you conveyed was contagious! Hope there was a dance-off after the camera stopped rolling.

Great reaction! I love to study the locations of movie sets and great to see that Lehi is a place I know. The sad part for me is that there is nowhere this remote on the Wasatch front anymore. It feels like Utah is selling itβs treasures for tax revenue. Well, off my soap box now.

This is a recommendation that's a *very* different vibe than Footloose, but you should definitely check out Kevin Bacon in Stir of Echoes - it's a brilliant supernatural thriller from the early 2000s-ish.

I wanted to see Footloose so badly! Iβm pretty much on the Kevin Bacon bandwagon ever since I met him on the job few weeks ago. It was the best moment of my life. Planning to rewatch Mystic River, thatβs a good movie with Kevin Bacon included, starring alongside Sean Penn and Tim Robbins.

For the best early Kevin Bacon film check out slasher classic Friday the 13th (really a giallo but the similarities between gialli and slasher films are greater than the differences) and to see the best film featuring his Footloose best friend Chris Penn check out the crime film Reservoir Dogs, a feel good classic.
