True Detective S1:3-4 - Full Reaction

Ooohhh mmmyyy gggooossshh this show has my heart racing literally by just watching the intro. It gives me the ICKS for sure but I can't stop at the same time. They are not telling us something big. I just feel so conflicted, want to immediately watch the next episode but also immediately need a break and a shower hah. Hope you enjoy!

True Detective S1:3-4 - Full Reaction

Comments

This still happens in the South. Trump supporters.

Kit Taylor

This episode has my favorite scene in the whole show... Rust calls out THE problem with society. Organized religion. "If the only thing keeping someone decent is the expectation of divine reward than brother... that person is a piece of shit and i'd like to get as many of them out in the open as possible." Love it.

Kit Taylor

Can I ask, where is the full react to episode 1 and 2 ??

Luke Ferrara

Lol what the hell happened to the video why is it 14.4GB haha... I've been trying to download it from google drive it keeps giving me an error lol

ChristianM

Definitely doesn’t show up. I had to do some searching to find it.

Justin Newberry

Don't know if this comment will be seen this late on: this S1:3-4 Full Reaction doesn't show up under the 'True Detective' tag with all the others - it can only be found by searching the main comments timeline. Just an FYI.

Really enjoying watching this along your reaction. This is easily my favorite piece of cinema in the last (almost) ten years. It's certainly created a standard that has still not quite been met either in movie or television format. You will certainly appreciate this series as the pay off is excellent. Side note, I live in Orange, Texas (you see it on the highway signs when they're heading to Beaumont, and I actually work in Beaumont). That is indeed a 100% accurate depiction of the slums in Beaumont and pretty much all of southeast Texas. Looking forward to seeing the rest of this along with you. ENJOY bub!

Darth Abominus

Lol My bad! You’re absolutely right! Definitely no turning that down!

😃 The "red hair light" is the "Popcorn in Bed" neon sign, I'm pretty sure, no turning that down. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/jiAK3r6nPCM/maxresdefault.jpg

Nice reaction Cassie! Whew! That was an intense episode! And man oh man. Matthew McConaughey is good. He really looks like he’s strung out on drugs. Looking forward to the next episode! On a technical note. Not sure if you adjusted anything but the image quality of your reaction is much nicer. I downloaded the 1080p version. And the contrast looks a lot better now. Not sure if you turned down the pink accent light behind the headboard or something. But I think that might have been affecting the exposure before. You may also want to tone down the red hair light. It looks a little strong now. Maybe even think about not having it red. But the same temperature as your key light. Might be more flattering. Just a thought. Anyways, Picture quality is much nicer! Have a great weekend Cassie!

I think between this series and the Lethal Weapon movies, you're in for some harrowing viewing. But a cool thing you could do to lighten things up is to throw Loaded Weapon 1 into the mix. It's like Airplane! but for buddy cop movies, and after Lethal Weapon 2 you should have all the genre knowledge you need to get the jokes.

Yeah, Rust having his daughter die was just the tip of the iceberg. His time undercover really opened his eyes to the darkest parts of humanity. It's no wonder the man's a pessimist having seen what he's seen. I mean he palled around with a bunch of dirtbag bikers, who's general scum-baggery was on full display this episode. From there he ended up involved with a cartel that tortures people by cutting their faces off. How does one not come out of that without a dim view of humanity? It's honestly amazing he didn't take psyche pension and become the man that present day Rust is. An alcoholic who starts drinking at noon, works/lives in a bar, and just stews in his own existential misery.

Hey! Love your reactions, will u please watch Christopher Nolan's Tenet., It would be a cool reaction with u and carly

Ahmad Zain

Wow this was one of your best.what a show

Canadianant

This show is amazing! I haven’t watched it in a while so going back to it on here has been fun. I also hope you do The Last of Us the new show on HBO. I loved the pilot and think it would be a good one to watch along with!

Chris Illsley

Who are you talking to?

granny_goodness

This is my favorite reaction to date; more so than even LotR ... Consider watching the rest of the episodes with close captioning turned on. You can pick up so much more.

Code Monkey

+1 for Roman Holiday

Tim Raths

NEVER mow another mans lawn!!! haha

Connor P

But so does Working Girl (1988), maybe even more so.😆

Gábor Árki

She said Harrison Ford romance… fits the bill.

djKENTO

Wow, here is another True Detective reaction, fun to watch, but not what I look forward to, and you get me excited about February. Roman Holiday, that will be fantastic, and were you talking about Working Girl? Now that would be an excellent reaction!

Mike LL

I got the impression she was talking about another movie entirely. 😆

Mike LL

I think the wanting to like Marty and feeling conflicted is part of the draw of the show and what makes these characters so compelling. It's like learning something about a close friend you’re not sure you like but have to live with

I am agnostic - unsure whether God exists and, if so, in what form. That said, I have not observed what you describe regarding a lack of critical thinking by those that are religious. I also don’t know that religion played any part in Cassie’s failing to have seen some of these movies previously. From what she’s said in the past, I gathered that she simply prefers rom-coms, as does her sister. Her parents and brother, though, seem to have always been fans of a much broader range of cinema; it’s odd, if religion was the precipitating factor in her avoidance of these films, that her family did not share her aversion. Cassie has shown repeatedly, on this very channel, a remarkable capacity to break down film plots on first viewing. Hardly an indication that she the lacks capacity for critical thinking. I would suggest that you’ve allowed your own anti-religious fervor to taint your views of others, just because they believe differently than you do.

Just Plain Bob

You're definitely breaking rule #3... "No religious or political discussion. This is not a place to discuss politics or religion. This is a place to discuss movies and shows that you love (or don't love)." You are also making some very bold assumptions with a "better-than-you attitude". Cassie is a big girl and can make her own decisions about whatever she wants, be it politics or religion. Her personal life and views on w/e should be respected and kept private, i.e. not talked about. You're walking a slippery slope, I would be careful.

Astraeos

The lawn bit was most certainly not about the lawn. Like most cheaters, the guilt manifests as paranoia. They cheat so they worry their spouse will too.

aarswft

The season with Stephen Dorff is also fantastic. I had not seen much of him before and his performance blew me away.

Zensonar

Holy crap. I haven't seen that long take sequence in a while and I think I'm even more impressed this time. Who reads that and is like "Yeah, this'll be a oner."

XanderWhat

That whole scene with the stashhouse was one shot.

Ben Livingstone

"I don't want you mowing my lawn" is a nice way of saying something else.

Raj Nair

I've been waiting to watch you react to the last 15 minutes of episode 4 for awhile now.

nick bell

Oh my god I ADORE Witness! The Amish and the English. LOVE IT! Same director as Master & Commander. Man knows how to make a great movie.

djKENTO

I really, REALLY can't wait for you to see the very last scene of the very last episode.

Stick Figure Studios

yes

rakesh

Don't rush guys, allow the upload to complete. I was kinda hoping for Lethal Weapon 2. Fingers crossed we get it for Saturday night at the movies with Cassie. Love you Cassie!!!!!

John Cranberry

What's up with the ''download'' link....

Diiirk706

When I click on this it says YT Edit. Is this a mistake?

Glenn Burns

I think this is the only series , that I have not already seen. So it's a lot more fun getting to watch this series with you and react alongside you

Wyatt Nuxoll

Looking forward to watching this. Thanks, Cassie.
