I was really not feeling well last week, a head cold and bad headaches. I watched the first few minutes and tried to rally, but I wanted to give the movie my best self and so I turned it off to save it for after my trip and for when I was healthy and present.
ps-more updates coming tomorrow but this week will be this one TBYOOL, more Queens Gambit, Taking Chance and Carly's PPOTM! All good things, all good things.

2022-12-04 00:33:25 +0000 UTCits wednesday, and like a kid, i keep looking for TBYOOL to be up,cant wait, just watched it again monday, started it and couldnt stop. the story is incredible , but also the film work, the director uses the reflections from mirrors to bring more actors into the shot, background actors are important to the shot, misdirection like a guy playing piano while an important phone call is happening in the background. this movie is gold.

2022-11-24 04:04:09 +0000 UTCI went to see To Kill a Mockingbird in a movie theater last week. I've seen TKAM probably a hundred times but don't remember when I saw it at a movie theater. This presentation was by Turner classic movies and it was spectacular. You might consider checking out TCM. Their December presentation is going to be "It's a Wonderful Life!" A lot of people haven't seen it on a movie screen because it failed when it was released for various reasons not connected to whether or not it was a good movie. It became the Christmas classic it is when it was shown on TV in the eary days of finding movies to run on TV. I'm definitely going to go see IAWL when it hits the theaters. Regarding the Best Years of Our Lives you can't get any better. As a trivia note. William Wyler was wanting realism so her gave Myrna Loy and Teresa Wright some money and sent them to a clothing store to buy the costumes for their characters. Wyler was a disabled vet from WW2. He was one of 5 Hollywood directors who went to film the war. He was filming a bombing run in a B17, Flying Fortress and lost his ear protection during the action of the run. The B17s were so loud that if the airmen didn't have hearing protection they stood a good chance of losing their hearing. Wyler did and he became deaf. That's one reason TBYOOL was such a success. He was a disabled vet making a movie about disabled vets.

I haven't seen that movie in like 30 years and forgot what a great movie it is. It would be a great watch for the channel and you should watch it with Carly too. You would both love it.

They are all stand alone episodes so it doesn't need to be watched all at once or in order, an episode or two here and there when you just need something happy to watch- The Joy of Painting (1983). I don't know if a reaction to more than a few episodes would work, but it is something that could be watched one your own after that- watch a movie and get stressed, then watch some "happy little trees" to un-stress.
