Since both of you seem to really appreciate Brad Pitt's, well, everything, have you ever seen Troy? Warning: It features a bit of nudity etc.

Vryce

I watched this movie because of you and I'm glad I did. Great movie.

Richard Lowe (The Writing King)

I second that.

Anthony Vawser

I’m trying to imagine a 3-hour, $90-million-dollar-budgeted, romantic/domestic fantasy epic starring Mr Buscemi…The mind boggles.

Anthony Vawser

@Todzilla agreed. Both mini series were pretty good. Wish we could get Cassie to watch the original not the remake.

David Freese

existential life, love, death and humanity... yet, in the end, we were left with... Brad Pitt NO WORDS! Definitely a C&C PiB Classic!

Terry Yelmene

Why not Wikipedia?

Dooly

If you miss the beginning of this movie there's no figuring out what it's about. I'm glad you are watching this so I can finally know.

Scott Macaulay

Another movie with Anthony Hopkins that you're not gonna hear mentioned much in this community (not because it isn't great, but because most people probably don't even know about it), but which you should see is SHADOWLANDS. That's one of my favorite films: a poignant meditation on life, death, love, loss, suffering and meaning. Based on the true story of a profound love between the great author C.S. Lewis and his wife Joy Gresham (played by Debra Winger), and directed by Richard Attenborough, it's an underseen, underdiscussed gem.

It has to be one of the most unintentionally hilarious deaths in the history of cinema. I've heard stories of how the movie instantly lost audiences in the theater at that moment.

Good flick.

City of Angels with Nicolas Cage is so underrated imo. I think Cassie would like it; Meg Ryan is in it and it's a romance, so it's right up your street!

Odd Thomas

Cassie's and Carly's reaction to this movie (which I enjoyed, of course) brought to mind Heaven Can Wait as a future possibility.

Mingo Wayama

Death gets trapped in an apple tree in On Borrowed Time, until people realize Death is necessary

Melinda

I was promised gorillas. There were no gorillas. Unsubscribing.

Simon Haynes

Mighty Joe Young is the gorilla movie lol

If you enjoy fantasy drama, a few other good ones are: The Legend of Bagger Vance, Pleasantville, Big Fish, Heart and Souls, The Family Man, and Peggy Sue Got Married.

I saw there was a full reaction to this movie but not the edited version, so I was very happy to see this release. This movie grew on me each time that I watched it, so I would say it takes multiple viewings to really appreciate it. But now, it's one I've come to really enjoy. The acting is brilliant, the message makes you think, and the film score is just beautiful. I'm so glad you both enjoyed it!

Kelly Marie

I honestly think that this is one of favourite reactions of yours, if only for the part when Carly says something along the lines of "I think we found a chick flick"... I then realized that you both had absolutely no idea what was coming and it made lean in. The scene is definitely shocking, but your reactions were on point, and frankly, I laughed so hard. It was a horrible thing to do, I know, but I just couldn't help it. That said, I always enjoy this movie when I watch it. I may be in the minority, but I just love the story and the dialogue so much. The line in the diner, "What's wrong with talking care of a woman, she takes care of you", always hits me right in the heart. Something to strive for, I suppose. Glad you both stuck around and loved it. I don't remember if either of you mentioned the running time, so you really must have enjoyed it!

Jason Jardine

Good point.

@David Freese I was hoping for "V"!! Robert Englund was so good in "V".

Todzilla

OMG! Definitely NOT alien V. (LOL Emoji)

Death Takes a Holiday is a 1934 American pre-Code romantic drama starring Fredric March, Evelyn Venable and Guy Standing. It is based on the 1924 Italian play La morte in vacanza by Alberto Casella (1891–1957), as adapted in English for Broadway in 1929 by Walter Ferris. Death Takes a Holiday (Supernatural). For the TV film, see Death Takes a Holiday (1971 film). For the musical, see Death Takes a Holiday (musical). After years of questioning why people fear him, Death takes on human form as Prince Sirki (Fredric March) for three days so that he can mingle among mortals and find an answer. He finds a host in Duke Lambert (Guy Standing) after revealing himself and his intentions to the Duke, and he takes up temporary residence in the Duke's villa. However, Death falls in love with the beautiful young Grazia (Evelyn Venable). As he does so, Duke Lambert, the father of Grazia's mortal lover Corrado (Kent Taylor), begs him to give Grazia up and leave her among the living. Death is torn between seeking his own happiness or sacrificing it so that Grazia may live. After listening to the pleas from the Duke and his houseguests, Death finally decides to let Grazia live and returns to his true self, a black shadow. As he prepares to depart, Grazia chooses to go with him, telling him that she knew all along who he really was. Death then proclaims that love is greater than illusion and is as strong as death. He puts his arm around Grazia, and they both disappear in a flash of light.

Just to make sure, you mean V for Vendetta not the lizards in V. 🤣😁

David Freese

what a great movie!

Ulf Jerlström

Like I said in premiere, I saw this with my mom right after my dad died. It was melancholy because it helped my mom but I didn't appreciate it till recently. But I know my mom loved the fact I would do stuff with her and help her get her life back on track. so Cassie overall it was a good experience.

David Freese

Can’t help but wonder if the ladies would have been so “conflicted” by the romance between Susan Parrish and Joe Black if Joe Black had been played by another actor; for instance, Steve Buscemi. Somehow I think they would have been unequivocal in their opposition to that union, even though the “inner person” would have been the same.

Just Plain Bob

Hahahaha — "Meet Joe Black" vs "Mighty Joe Young" was not on my bingo card.

Gabriel L.

I'm got a venture a guess as to what scene prompted the reactions that Cassie and Carly are exhibiting in this thumbnail.

Stick Figure Studios

"I think it's about a gorilla." LOL I think that's Mighty Joe Young.

Jesus F Christ

It’s the 5th of November; and I know Cassie has already seen V for Vendetta, but wouldn’t it be cool if she saw V with Carly. (Just asking for a friend. (Winkie face emoji.))
