Upcoming…

EDIT** I’ll be watching the original 1984 Nightmare on Elm Street, I grabbed the wrong poster for this post

Hey boos!

“I’m so happy to live in a world where there are Octobers!” -Anne with an E of Green Gables

I had fun this weekend decking my halls with fall and halloween, holidays can be pretty magical with kids and I’m trying to soak it all in.

Ok here is what is coming up this week. Carly and I are both totally slammed this week, I feel like I’ll be running around like a headless chicken, so it was impossible to fit in more than one watch together. I really want to watch Shawn of the Dead AND Interview with a Vampire WITH her so I’m doing Young Frankenstein first (even though it was the runner up in the poll) because I’ll watch that one on my own.

Nightmare on Elm Street, deep breaths! Don’t worry though, Im leaning into spooky October, I’ve researched and think I’m only doing what won’t give me nightmares for months and what I can handle while also getting into the scary zone!

Our Classics Chaos bracket has crowned a champion, The Great Escape! I am excited! I will try to have it on Patreon soon but it probably won’t come to YT until November!

I will be putting up a scary but not too scary poll on YT this week, i’ll post about it here too so you can go vote on it!

Who saw Hocus Pocus 2 this weekend? thoughts? Trying to decide if I should try to squeeze it into an October reaction? What else are you watching? I heard there’s a lot of good stuff coming out this fall, might be time for another “trailer time”!

Ok thanks for always being so nice, supportive, encouraging and my friends:)

Young Frankenstein is my Dads favorite next to the Producers and Blazing Saddles. Lots of Mel Brooks on while I was growing up. As for Hocus Pocus 2 I went into it pretty excited but told myself it would not be as great as the first. I was pleasantly surprised. I liked the little nods they made to the first film.

Nicole

Thank God you don't watch the atrocious NOES remake!!!

Yann Laliberté

Thanks, but that's not it. I'm thinking it would be for a horror movie. (And maybe I'm just imagining it. As a special offer, patrons of Cassie may use this tagline for their own movies for FREE!)

Happy Hanukkah

The Nun's Story with Audrey Hepburn?

Steve Holton

Great swedish band 👍👍👍

Björn Karlsson

I'm having a "senior moment:" what movie is "Pray for her" a tagline for? (Not The Possession (2012).)

Happy Hanukkah

You're braver than me! I've never seen Nightmare on Elm Street. My brother & his friend terrorized me & my friends on Halloween one year when they both dressed up as Freddy & chased us! ( I was 8 or 9, I think maybe even 10).

Orcagirl78

Hmm. I somehow got the impression you actually were not such a big fan of drumsticks... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IJaM27zZkM&t=565s

Happy Hanukkah

I too can't wait for the Bondage!

Happy Hanukkah

this comment makes me so excited to start the bonds

Cassie

i LOVE nestle drumsticks so much!

Cassie

Cassie needs to have her 'Queen's Greatest Hits' ready as well. She'll be 'having a good time, having a good time...'

Closest to a delicious cornetto in United States is a Nestle drumstick. Can’t buy Nestle stock on the NYSE except through a tedious foreign ADR. Probably need an offshore account to get a cornetto. Or a plane that flies under radar.

Steve Holton

Don't think you can get cornettos in the States. Shame those guys are missing out, cornettos are the business:)

Jay

When the two of you do get round to watching Shaun of the Dead you know what the ideal snack for that film is? Strawberry Cornettos, trust me you'll understand why.

Jake McNulty

I’m good with waiting for Shaun of the dead with Carly. Then you can both watch hot fuzz and know what your getting into after this one:)

So excited your watching Nightmare on Elm Street its one of my favourite all time horrors!

Matt

This is completely off topic I admit, but it's a significant anniversary today and I couldn't let it pass without highlighting it.. On this date 60 years ago, a little film produced by the team of Albert "Cubby" Broccoli and Harry Saltzmsn based on a novel by a Mr. Ian Fleming, was released to theaters in the UK. it was called DR. NO and movies haven't been the same since. Though it was not the first time that the literary character of James Bond had been portrayed by an actor (Barry Nelson played "Jimmy Bond" in a TV version of CASINO ROYALE years earlier), this was the one that captured the public's imagination thanks to a relatively unknown Scotsman named Sean Connery who could previously be seen singing in an Irish brogue in Disney's DARBY O'GILL AND THE LITTLE PEOPLE. From the moment he smoothly pulled his cigarette out of its case and lit it while uttering the immortal "Bond, James Bond" line (still one of the coolest onscreen introductions in cinema history), Connery captivated audiences with his dashing good looks, powerful presence and palpable sense of danger. While the film feels slow and even quaint by today's standards, for its day it was considered exciting and spectacular. Still, most of the elements were there that would become staples of the series: fast cars, exotic locales, jazzy music, beautiful women, ruthless killings and ironic humor. The world is a very different place now than it was in 1962, but 25 films and 6 actors later, 007 shows no signs of slowing down. As he always does, James Bond will return. https://youtu.be/nLXoZ69ce-I

Michael while you and I clearly disagree on the quality of this film ( and possibly the books) I can't say that assessment is too far off.

My_Cousin_Mose

if you like wimpy cry baby vampires then Ann Rice is for you , although Lestat is ok

Good to hear you are going to watch Interview with a Vampire. It is a really good movie and not really all that scary. I did watch Hocus Pocus 2 on Sunday. If you liked the original, then chances are good you will like the sequel. The fun stuff about the 3 witches in the original are still there in the sequel. They did a decent job with the sequel and it is a fun, campy watch.

Tinkerbell

wow thought you were going light weight horror , Nightmare on Elm Street is .......well in the title 😄😄 just remember its all fake .
