I'm REALLY sad that the Treasure of the Sierra Madre lost. I've been waiting a year for this vote. This is such a good movie. Well, there are a lot of good movies in this bracket. Vertigo! Excellent. The Bridge on the River Kwai. Excellent. The one thing that's hard to get over is when there are two very different classic movies like Funny Girl and the Treasure of the Sierra Madre and they wind up in the same bracket. You're really voting for a genre rather than a movie. I just have to hope that Sierra Madre gets pulled out for showing as an honorable mention or something.

2022-09-25 14:10:14 +0000 UTCArrggh! Because I was apparently the first to vote, I can see that on the most important pairing to me, my vote was recorded the opposite to what I wanted. Now I actually take comfort from the fact that my single vote is unlikely to matter. (I'm not blaming the polling app, I assume it was my sleepy self who pushed the wrong "vote" button. But damn!). If Vertigo loses this round, I hope it's by more than one vote.
