[YT Edit] Anatomy of a Murder

Hey guys! Here is the YT edit for Anatomy of a Murder, which will premiere shortly on YT. For those of you that don't know, I'm currently visiting family and taking a much needed vacation, so content has been sparse. I'll still post LA Confidential this week but I'm not sure of the exact day. I'll be back next week and the schedule will return to normal. Thanks for your patience!

Direct link in case the above player doesn't work.

Here is the full reaction to this movie.

She could do the Grant-Hepburn trifecta: Bringing Up Baby, Holiday, and The Philadelphia Story. All three fantastic screwball comedies.

Rick Moreno

Yes, Cassie would really love The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance!

Raj K. Dixit

Cassie would love THE PHILADELPHIA STORY. BRINGING UP BABY too. And ARSENIC AND OLD LACE.

Jason Chirevas

Apropos Jimmy Stewart, I hope you'll watch the classic screwball comedy The Philadelphia Story (1940), the movie he got his Oscar for. It also stars Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn.

Happy Hanukkah

my mistake i thought it was john wayne. oops. :)

Glen Childs

I can't picture anyone but Ladd in that part. That was George Stevens' first movie after he got back from WW2.

Christopher Carr

SHANE was Alan Ladd. 😉

Jason Chirevas

My top 3 westerns are The Legend Of The Lone Ranger (1981), The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, and True Grit (original with John Wayne) with Shane (another John Wayne) and 2 Mules for Sister Sarah coming in with an honorable mention

Glen Childs

Chris Davis, you bring up an interesting point about the Mannions. They are trash however well you dress them up. I might be wrong but if someone is innocent by reason of insanity they aren't just allowed to walk away to go crazy and kill again. They would have to be treated for their mental illness. Every serial killer out their should be walking the streets by that standard. Jimmy Stewart took it pretty well when he got stiffed for all but $50 of his fee. However, Lee Remick is drop dead gorgeous and that's not a crime.

Christopher Carr

That’s a top-three, all-time western for me.

Jason Chirevas

You could also check out The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, great old western with Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne.

Glen Childs

This is a great movie! I'm very happy you were able to see it! The ending, I feel is just that the Mannions wanted to skip on the bill, showing that they weren't the greatest, but he didn't deserve the death penality.

Chris Davis

If eating crackers in bed is cruelty, then eating popcorn in bed qualifies as intolerable cruelty. ... Say, have I recommended Intolerable Cruelty (2003) in the past few days? :-) If you wish to see a different side of Jimmy Stewart: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbsNc1UGbHs

+1 for The treasure of the Sierra Madre. Would also like more older movies. Most reactor-channels seems to converge towards MCU & Star wars after a while.

Enjoy your time away! You deserve it! Love to see pics if you have any when you come back.

Yes. I like returning to the thrilling days of yesteryear and seeing a strong sampling of pre 1960 movies. My impulse for joining this group was the first movie I saw Cassie's reaction to; Casablanca. One of the main reasons I really enjoy watching reactions to films like Anatomy OAM, Casablanca, Rear W, 12AM and It'sAWL is the impact of the realization that America was once very different than it is now. Some good, Some bad. Cassie is actually a very good "every woman" when it comes to reacting. (This is not sycophantic.) Her reactions are not that far off from the reactions at the time of original release of the movies. Her reaction to Jimmy Stewart is in lockstep with America as a whole. He was a huge star for about 40 years. There were other people who were as big but definitely not Stewart's "every man". As rank as studios could treat the stars it did give the movie going public a longitudinal view of the careers of many actors. We're getting a nice sampling of Stewart. I look forward to other Stewart vehicles. Another good study is Bogart. People accuse him of being one dimensional but, like Stewart if you follow Maltese Falcon, Casablanca, High Sierra, the Treasure of the Sierra Madre, Key Largo, African Queen and Sabrina Fair you see greatness and variety. My favorite that I push for is The Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Cassie, you're a very intuitive film buff. I'm not surprised that you came around to the decision to publicly broaden your film horizons. Oh God. Here I go being sycophantic again.

Christopher Carr

Hope you are enjoying your vacation and this was a great choice. I am also a fan of Jimmy Stewart and like some of the other members of your Patreon family I think that you would enjoy Harvey and Mr. Smith goes to Washington. Please give our best to your family!
