Cassie, I rewatched your reaction and you had a question I meant to answer in my 1st response. You asked the rhetorical question why did the soldiers have flutes drums, flags and bagpipes? There was no electronic means of communication so these were all devices that were used to communicate in different ways between commanders their soliders, generals and the troop commanders etc. A different flag or wave may something. That's why if a flag bearer fell in battle someone else would pick it up and carry on.

If you are looking for a series to watch around the time of next July 4th I can recommend John Adams starring Paul Giamatti in the title role with Laura Linney as Abigale Adams. Very well done and will take you from the events leading up to the revolutionary war all the way through the rest of Adams life. Excellent performances by the actors playing Washington, Franklin and Jefferson as well, makes them seem like real people, not just faces on the currency. Great musical score by the composer who did Last of the Mohicans.

Amazing reaction though. It was as good as I remember 👍

Wow, I remember seeing this twice when it came out and haven’t watched it since. I don’t remember being this emotional. I don’t even usually cry at movies. I blame Cassie 🤧

Another great heart felt reaction. You and your sister are adorable and a joy to watch movies with. I had never seen Patriot (excellent movie) and I'm glad I saw it here.

Cassie and her sister are treasures for sure. I say bless you every single time she sneezes and yes sometimes I answer her questions without even stopping to think she can’t hear me😂

Regardless of the accuracy, war is hell,,,, if there is a hell, then it is truly war. I cannot say thank you (to both of you) enough. There are so many great movies ahead of you. Let me say straight up, I saw Top Gun Maverick at the theater (first time in many, many years, ) and yes, it pulled on every heart string. I was 18 when I saw the original Top Gun. I hope I get the chance to keep watching you and your sis review the great ones. Much love to you both.

I want to thank everyone who clued me in to who this other person is. I’m an older woman and my son got me into the popcorninbed and I am totally hooked. I just adore you, Cassie and your comments make me smile. The only thing I think you do is overthink what is happening like you did in Back to the Future but your comments were fun to watch and I found myself answering you like you were right there with me. Enjoy your new home and keep us posted on how things are going. I’m a grandmother and like to think of you as one of my grandkids.

[Heck] yeah!

Happy Hanukkah

Regardless of the historical accuracy Gibson knows how to pull at heart strings. Or maybe in spite of. His character is loosely based around a guy named Francis Marion aka the Swamp Fox. Marion was in fact located in South Carolina and a real pain in the British arse. How did I first learn about Marion? Walt Disney. I still have my Davy Crockett pocket knife. When Davy Crockett hit it big in the 50s Uncle Walt started serializing every American MALE historical figure he could. I'm sure if Gibson had used Francis Marion as the main character's name he really would have been torched for historical inaccuracies. Hell, as a speech pathologist I have issues with the little girl's elective mutism. But IT'S ONLY A MOVIE. An entertaining one at that.

Christopher Carr

Cassie, if you really want a Heath Ledger deep dive check out Lords of Dogtown. A film based on the lives of actual skaters and surfers from Venice Ca. in 70s. Ledger gives an amazing performance to a just above mediocre film.
