2022-05-24 15:41:26 +0000 UTCWas surprised to find much more mention of Michelle Yeoh and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon in this comment section than the Full Reaction Comment section. Michelle Yeoh, who played Shang-Chi's Aunt in the movie, is a big Hong Kong action movie star most known in the States for CT,HD, but she also played the kung-fu fellow agent/love interest to James Bond in Tomorrow Never Dies. Would also love to see reactions to some Jackie Chan films. And I for one thought Shang-Chi was a great MCU film.

That first fight scene especially reminded me of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), also starring the wonderful Michelle Yeoh. Based on this reaction I think you would enjoy it too. But I'm sure there were some other nods to martial arts movies too. For example that bamboo scaffolding scene brought back some Jackie Chan memories too. Might be worth having a martial arts movie poll one day.
