PATREON FAQ's/ START HERE

Welcome to the Popcorn In Bed Patreon page! Thank you SO SO much for the support and for being here. I hope the content and community are valuable to you and please let me know if you have any suggestions on how to improve!

Patreon Rules:

Most of these go without saying, but:

This post will serve as a guide on how to make the best use of the Patreon page as well as give answers to commonly asked questions.

Here are some helpful links:

WHY ARE THE MOVIES BLURRED?

One of the biggest questions I get is about the movie being blurred during the full-length reactions. The reason the movie needs to be blurred is due to copyright issues. As much as I would like to, I can’t show the full movie, just the reaction. So like it says before you join, it is meant as a “watch along” and you will have to sync your own copy along with my reaction.  Luckily, we have a GREAT community here and they’ve provided a plethora of information, tips, and tricks on how to sync up your own copy of the movie while watching the reaction videos. Please check that thread out here.

I know some people don’t do the watch-alongs, but just to support and be a part of the community so we are working on getting you the YT edits early access here on Patreon as well.

HOW CAN I GIVE YOU MY MOVIE SUGGESTIONS??

I get lots of suggestions daily and I love it! There are so many ways to suggest movies/shows. Patreon comments and messages are probably the best way as you guys hold the most weight! I read all of the comments and messages (though it takes me a while to respond) so you can bet your suggestion will be seen here.

If you'd like an organized place to suggest a movie you can visit the www.popcornrequests.com website that was developed by our very own patron @planner.

Before you suggest a movie, I would double check my letterboxd here to see a mostly comprehensive list of everything I have seen before and since the channel!

CAN I SEND YOU A PACKAGE?

You, my friends, are the best, and I am so grateful for the packages you send me. The postal workers and I are very tight at this point and I seriously cannot believe the thoughtfulness and generosity of you sending me things.

The address is:

Popcorn in Bed

PO BOX 547

PROVO, UT 84603

I wanted to share a list of DVD’s I have been sent so you don’t send duplicates. Here is the list of all the DVD’s I own now.

I also have some people ask about shirt size, Carly and I are both a size medium :)

HOW CAN I JOIN DISCORD?

All patrons have access to our private Discord server, where you can chat movies, shows and anything else with other members of the community. All you have to do is connect your Discord account with Patreon, and it will automatically add you to the server. Patreon offers a great instruction guide on how to link your Discord account, which you can find here: https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/212052266-How-do-I-connect-Discord-to-Patreon-Patron-.

HOW CAN I CHANGE MY MEMBERSHIP LEVEL?

To learn how to upgrade, downgrade tiers, cancel your membership etc. Check out this link. If you still have questions or concerns about your tier and its benefits, please direct message me on here and I can help!

HOW CAN I MAKE AN EXTRA DONATION?

Donations are appreciated but never expected. Please don't feel obligated to donate anything more than just being here. With that said, any extra support is so appreciated to help run the channel. The PayPal address for the channel is popcorninbed1@gmail.com.  I have to be clear that extra donations don't guarantee any special reactions at this time.

CAN I PAY YOU TO WATCH A MOVIE OF MY CHOICE?

When I first started the channel and this Patreon page, I had a tier that allowed a higher amount of donations and they could pick a movie of their choosing for me to react to once per month. There were only 6 spots, and it was so great to connect with these friends and the movies they loved. I watched some amazing movies that I never would have seen otherwise. I am no longer able to do this high tier as I had trouble keeping up with those reactions and the poll winners and the regular schedule as well.

Again, thank you SO MUCH for being here and helping support the channel. I love this community that we've built and I'm so happy you are a part of it.

Sad news, but............CASSIE!!!!

Clarence Newman

The great film and TV composer Lalo Schifrin passed away at 93 on June 26. Amongst his notable scores is Cool Hand Luke, Bullitt, POTA films, Enter the Dragon, and the Dirty Harry films. RIP.

Joe J

And a special thank you to Cassie for allowing even us free members to not only be allowed to play but possibly win prizes. ❤️

Louisa Moritz

Thank you Cassie, Ben, Coleton and everyone else for such a fun trivia night!!! I don't think any other reactor has so many chances for interactions with their subscribers and patreons. I knew I wasn't going to win, heck I was happy to finish in the top half!

CANNONBALL RUN! Ok, so it’s taken a bit of a battering from some on this channel recently and I feel a need to give it a fare shout, as I wouldn’t like to see Cassie put off for a potential fun reaction for her. I think it’s fare to say most people on this channel would like Cassie to react to movies they like and that makes sense. I’m also sure some may say I speak up for CR because I’m a fan and yes I did indeed love this movie when I was a kid. However I feel I can be unbiased and neutral when needed. I probably am the exception to the rule, in that there are many BIG favourites of mine that I am either nervous about Cassie watching (Scarface) or I just don’t want her too (Trainspotting) for example. So I don’t always just want movies I like. There are movies where I feel the quality may be low or it hasn’t aged well, but I still feel Cassie would Enjoy. CR is one of those movies, I still feel Cassie would enjoy such a movie, maybe when she has had a tough week and just wants to watch something to give her a laugh, light entertainment, with no heart pounding stress. Many People didn’t want Cassie to watch Crocodile Dundee 2 and I feel this was because they didn’t like the movie, not because they were thinking Cassie wouldn’t enjoy it, which of course she did enjoy! If Cassie enjoys the movie we get a great reaction, irrelevant to if you think the movie is good or not. There have been many movies on this channel I would never normally watch, but because Cassie enjoyed them it made for a great reaction. Remember Cassie enjoyed “Smokey and the Bandit” I also feel Cassie would enjoy “Every which way but Loose” and especially its sequel. Again light hearted fun movies, to watch when life has been to stressful and we have seen Cassie do this on the channel before and enjoyed it and give us a great reaction too. CR, for all its faults, has star power with a star studded cast, a sense of nostalgia for a simpler time, some memorable moments and some great out takes in the credits. So is this a movie I really want Cassie to see? No, not particularly, Despite it being a favourite as a kid. I have way more others I would rather Cassie see first. Do I think Cassie will enjoy it? Yes, because now and then Cassie enjoys a little bit of light heated fun. We all have our very different tastes in movies, but for me, our differences is what makes this such a great channel with good variety and a wonderful community. 🙂

Mark White

I used to love Donnie Darko when I was a teenager and now find it cringe, but the soundtrack's still great

Milton William Burray

This is kind of a spin-off to the clash of the two Titans (Clarence and Richard) below - but do you guys have any movies that you remember loving as a kid, revisiting as an adult, and realizing how awful it is? For me personally, I remember loving the movie "Ice Pirates" (1984) as a kid. I re-watched it for the first time in decades some time ago and realized it is completely awful!

bgb1975 (Brian)

Richard, the most embarrassing thing about this entire post is that you let Clarence get the better of you in that deal. Clarence! You should’ve asked for his support on “The Final Programme”, “Horror of Dracula” and about a dozen others. And Super Bowl tickets. And his picking up your mortgage payments for a year. And a whole lot more.

Just Plain Bob

Watched a reaction to Cannonball Run last night. The reactors did what they could with it but wow, that is one awful film. I saw the whole film as a kid and don’t remember it being that bad, but that only goes to show that you shouldn’t trust your feelings about movies you watched as a kid. The best part was the blooper reel at the end, but I think I enjoyed that more because it meant the film was ending. I voted for this movie on Popcorn Requests because I told Clarence I would if he voted for The Final Programme, but now I wish I had asked for a lot more. I am literally embarrassed to have that film on my request list.

Richard Maurer

Sounds cool. I wonder what Era it will be set in.

Larry Darrell

This has the potential to be AWESOME: https://deadline.com/2025/06/matthew-mcconaughey-nic-pizzolatto-movie-reunion-1236433344/

Just Plain Bob

Not on my list, but well worth a reaction. Did she say when the next live package thingy is going to be?

Clarence Newman

Cassie mentioned in last night's YT premiere that "Born on the Fourth of July" is coming up this week. Didn't see that coming (haha).

Joe J

Message to Cole Jennett: You were right, mate. Just making Cassie read THIS post should obligate me to upgrade.

Clarence Newman

Apologies in advance for another ramble…. In light of Joe’s announcement that Jen Murray is about to watch yet another one of my all-time favourite movies (Bullitt), and the fact that my subscription here is up for renewal next week, I feel the need to assess what Popcorn in Bed gives me. In the past couple of months, Jen Murray has reacted to regular TNG and DS9 episodes (I’m a Star Trek fan), The Time Machine (my favourite sci-fi), Cannonball Run (my favourite guilty pleasure), Cool Hand Luke (my all-time favourite film) and now she’s going to do Bullitt (another of my all-time favourite films). I don’t need to tell anybody here that I’ve ragged on Cassie to watch all of those, and sometimes I get quite animated about it, but it’s important to note that reactions to my all-time favourites is only one of the entertainments this channel offers. I’m a huge movie fan – always have been – so I’ve watched a lot of movies of all genres and have on the way developed a wide range of tastes. That being the case, I regularly get something from Cassie that triggers my nostalgia gland and gives me a fun rewatch with a slightly different perspective. In the last couple of months, those have been Batman Returns, Mad Max, 12 Monkeys, Blazing Saddles, Cape Fear, The Searchers, Monty Python, Cold Mountain and The French Connection – all movies from my main watchlist. Obviously, there have been fewer films from my Favourites list during the same period (Beverly Hills Cop, Collateral and JFK), but that’s largely because Cassie strip-mined that list before I even found her channel. I compiled such a list recently and found that there would have been 176 films on it the day before Shawshank Redemption, which was Cassie’s first reaction 5 years ago. That one knocked a favourite off my list. She then did Stand By Me and Groundhog Day and Green Mile and The Sixth Sense and so on and so on and so on, all of which were waiting for me when I discovered the channel at the end of ’23. Like I said, I have a broad taste in movies, so there are still 56 absolute favourites I want Cassie to watch, but having already ticked off 68% of my list, I have no room to complain. But it’s not all about “favourites” and predetermined lists. There’s another element that goes into PiB’s appeal, and that’s all those films I’ve never heard of that I watch for the first time with Cassie. The Breakfast Club, Office Space, 12 Angry Men, Ford v Ferrari (which has become an all-time favourite), The Patriot, Rear Window, on and on and on – little gems that were just waiting for me all those years but I’d never got around to. I’ve never seen Deepwater Horizon or Zorro or A Monster Calls, and if a poll is involved I’ll always champion my favourites over that kind of film. Of course I will. But I’m looking forward to the YT edits of those unknowns because Cassie generally manages to entertain me even if the film doesn’t. Along the way, I’ll pick up new favourites like Double Jeopardy or The Lincoln Lawyer or Leon: the Professional, or new favourite reactions like A Monster Calls and Only The Brave. I have nothing bad to say about Jen Murray. I’m sure she’s a good reactor and she clearly has very good taste in mainstream movies. But the variety and balance of content is here, and if I have to wait a little longer these days between absolute favourites, it just makes it all the sweeter when they actually come. Finally, the first 6 months of watching Cassie’s YT catalogue (October ’23 to around April of ’24) were possibly the worst 6 months of my life. After years of certainty in all the important areas, I suddenly had no control over anything. I felt like I was losing everything, and there were times when I was hanging on by a thread. PiB gave me a place to go to once or twice a day when I needed to sit back and exhale, where I didn’t have to fight for a minute and could just enjoy what was in front of me; and when it was time to go to bed, PiB was the ONLY thing that could slow down my overloaded mind and allow me to sleep. One reaction before I laid down every night – just like a pill. Truly, that young lady has no idea how much she helped me through that time. I’m upgrading to Extra Butter next week. I love it here, and I’m not going anywhere anytime soon. If that’s bad news for some of the staunch Cannonball Run haters out there, then blame that wonderful little bed-bug up in Utah. 😁 End of ramble.

Clarence Newman

Man of Steel is in 28th place on the Popcorn Requests list. Wonder Woman is 24th (whatever sense that makes), no other DCEU movies are in the top 50.

Richard Maurer

I hope "Man of Steel" is coming up soon. Cassie has said on several occasions she wants to watch it. I wouldn't mind "Batman vs. Superman" and "Justice League" also.

Joe J

YouTube's automated censorship is pretty bizarre. But I don't think it's even political. I don't know what it is. Seems like all it takes is getting into a semi-heated argument a time or two before you get put on some naughty list or something. Wish they would offer up more explanation for it.

Chris Thom

I would personally like to see some more of PiB's videos, new and old, get onto Rumble. I'm not a fan of youtube, for reasons we're not allowed to discuss here (which is probably a good rule!).

bgb1975 (Brian)

Agreed, though there are a couple in the top 25 right now I wouldn't mind being quietly removed from the list.

Mike Lemon

Now that Cassie watched BHC, WarGames is the new #1 film on Popcorn Requests. I wonder how it will be there? I think Cassie should just use a movie slot for the #1 film at least once a month

Richard Maurer

Cate Blanchett was so good in that. So curious how accurate that film was to real life. Looking forward to that reaction.

Chris Thom

Does anyone else think that before Cassie watches the true story poll winner, The Aviator (2004), that she should At Least watch… Bringing Up Baby (1938), first? It’s been a highly requested Classic film that has been in numerous polls, and it stars the Actress, Katharine Hepburn, that is a major character in The Aviator. There could definitely be more film prep work that would make The Aviator so much more interesting, but I understand it wouldn’t be feasible. But… watching Bringing Up Baby (1938) would finally cross maybe the most requested Classic film off her list, AND allow Cassie to have at least one connection to the Real Life people being portrayed in The Aviator (2004). Knowing more about Classic Hollywood and who some of the real people are, does make the film more enjoyable.

Larry Darrell

Not much love for re-watches on the recent Pollception. IMO re-watches are just to get big YT views, which is fine if that's what Cassie needs. PIB is in it's 5th year now, maybe Cassie feels she's running out of big popular movies for YT.

Joe J

There has been some discussion about a rewatch of the Nolan Batman films. One additional reason could be that this year is the 20th anniversary of those films. Batman Begins came out in 2005.

Steve Holton

Happy Birthday! Would also like to see that. So many potential 'what the fricks'. Zero David Lynch on the channel to date.

Chris Thom

All I want for my Birthday is for Cassie to watch Mullholland Drive. It can be in honor if the late great David Lynch! <3

G

I just checked out “Cool hand Luke” it’s got 100% on RT!! “The Towering Inferno” is a must at some point. We need another Disaster movie poll?! I’ve not seen Freebie and the Bean.

Mark White

RIP Loretta Swit - Hotlips Houlihan in M*A*S*H. Cassie is well behind on her tributes , so I suggest the following movies by way of catch-up: Loretta Swit - Freebie and the Bean (1974) Richard Chamberlain - The Towering Inferno (1974) Joe Don Baker - Cool Hand Luke (1967) She will love them all.

Clarence Newman

Has to be entered by end of day May 31.

Joe J

I’ve just put my PaF movie in. Does anyone know if I’m too late, as it’s already the 1st?!

Mark White

Same old same old. You haven't been gone that long Mark, lol.

Joe J

I’m back! What’s been happening everyone? What did I miss?! I’ve been out of the loop (or signal) since “Bridesmaids”! Did Cassie enjoy Batman returns?! And Mad Max? I had a quick look and we are not getting “The Insider” 🙁 in the “true events” poles, but there are a lot of awesome movies there so it’s not too bad. How did Carly’s wedding go? Did some crazed Patreon turn up at the last minute, shouting “NO! It’s supposed to be me!” 😆 I see we are finally getting BHC and the Sum of all fears should be a good reaction week. Most importantly do we know how Cassie’s Son is doing? I do hope he is better? And that Cassie is feeling less stressed as well. It’s good to be back with you all, in our little wonderful corner on the internet.

Mark White

The sword of time will pierce our skins It doesn′t hurt when it begins But as it works it's way on in The pain grows stronger, watch it grin

🚩

GAME OF THRONES In the Extra Butter live, they told her that Pedro Pascal is in Game of Thrones. That's not a spoiler, but I thought she might notice that for the first time when seeing him during the reaction. I was a little suprised that she did not know that Bella Ramsey is in Game of Thrones, but maybe not surprised b/c she indicated she only knew of a couple of actors (Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage) in GoT. By the way, Loretta Swit died. Age 87. R.I.P.

Clay F

Planner (the one who created the app) said he’s working on it to make it easier to use, so I would assume they’re going wait till that’s done and given a chance to work (or not) before making any decisions. I think some people might be daunted by the sheer number of titles (6k + with one request or more) but you don’t need to wade through all that to find what you’re looking for, just type the movie title into search then hit the + sign next the film poster that comes up to vote, not really that hard.

Richard Maurer

Is the PopcornRequest app viable moving forward? I would like to recommend Cassie poll patrons to see what the app engagement level is. If engagement is low (below 50%), should the app be used at all to source films for polls. Cassie has 3000+ patrons who can upvote movies, yet the number of upvotes seems incredibly low for the Top 100 (or Top 200) movies. I suspect very few patrons are currently using the tool. If this is so, how can the rankings accurately reflect the popularity of films for the majority of patrons? Most of the rankings are probably very static, having settled out years ago. IMO, online rankings and patron suggestions in the comments seem a more accurate way to select films for polls, like Cassie just did for the True Events Polls. Cassie is using the app for random polls, but I don’t think she goes beyond the Top 250. Will Cassie ever select films from beyond 250? The app is just a junk drawer really beyond a certain number of films.

Joe J

I’m not having a problem now.

Richard Maurer

Patreon is very slow, unresponsive. I can hardly type anything in.

Joe J

I just drop this in the latest Update post as well. It sounds like Canada is experiencing some extreme wildfires this week (the Northwest Territories and Alberta to Quebec are at extreme risk of wildfires today). I hope that Cassie’s family is safe and well.

Ted Whalen

Cassie should never have to decide for herself. She already has too much on her plate. She needs to designate us as official choosers so she can watch Towering Inferno in peace.

Clarence Newman

These numbers make me want more Patron Polls each month, lol. Of the (57) reactions currently on YT this year, (28) reactions come from Polls + PAF. The other (29) are Cassie's choosing. I wasn't aware Cassie was deciding around 50% herself...seems high to me. Thoughts?

Joe J

It sure does, and it's well worth pointing out. Schedules got pushed back a bit for Carly's wedding, but SHIRLEY, Beverly Hills Cop isn't going to slip through the net again.

Clarence Newman

JP Bob - a Corman poll seems great to me. But considering that we only got one martial arts poll and one classic horror poll, where both poll winners did fairly well on YouTube, I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you.

Richard Maurer

Slipping through the cracks- so I know that at one point it looked like Cassie was going to watch Beverly Hills Cop (it was caught at the deadline by the live events option). Has there been any sort of notification that Cassie is going to go ahead and watch BHC as well? This feels like Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown at the last second.

Ted Whalen

I’d love to see an “Oddities” poll. It would be reserved for smaller, independently produced films that might otherwise be ignored. Each poll could cover a different producer, production house, indie director, character actor or obscure genre. A perfect example would be a Roger Corman poll. Corman started by directing movies and then moved into roles as a producer and owner/operator of his own production/distribution company. His output was almost exclusively B films. He also launched numerous big name talents that have had a huge positive impact on the filmmaking industry, such as: Gale Anne Hurd (began her career as Roger’s assistant) - went on to produce “Terminator 1&2”, “The Abyss”, “Tremors”, “Ghost and the Darkness” and “The Walking Dead”, among others James Cameron (special effects and set decoration on Roger’s productions) - directed “Terminator 1&2”, “The Abyss”, “Titanic” and “Avatar”; also a pioneer in modern film camera design and techniques for 3D and IMAX Bill Paxton (set decorator on Roger’s films) - acted in “Aliens”, “Predator 2”, “Tombstone”, “Apollo 13” and “Twister” and acted in and directed the superb “Frailty” (also starring Matthew McConaughey) Joe Dante (began his career by cutting trailers for Roger’s films) - he directed nature-run-amok B classic “Piranha” for Corman, “Gremlins 1&2”, “Innerspace”, “The ‘Burbs”, “The Howling” and “Matinee” Bryan Cranston (actor in Corman produced films) - lead in “Breaking Bad” Francis Ford Coppola (produced Corman movie “The Terror of Tiny Town”) - directed “The Godfather 1&2” and “Apocalypse Now” Martin Scorsese (Corman produced his first few films) - directed “Taxi Driver”, “Raging Bull”, “Goodfellas”, “The Departed” and too many others to count; his films have garnered 20 Oscars Jonathan Demme (first films he directed were produced by Roger Corman) - directed numerous films, most notably “Silence of the Lambs” John Sayles (screewriter for several films produced by Corman, including the script for “Piranha”) - directed numerous films and considered one of the best screenwriters in Hollywood Peter Bogdanovich (worked on “The Wild Angels” which kicked off the 70s biker gang craze) - auteur that was nominated for an Academy Award for “The Last Picture Show” Jack Nicholson (early acting roles in Corman produced and directed films, such as the original “Little Shop of Horrors”) - widely considered one of the best actors that Hollywood ever produced And here’s the Roger Corman films I’d recommend for an “Oddities” poll: *Alligator *Piranha *Frankenstein Unbound *Death Race 2000 (with Sylvester Stallone) *Little Shop of Horrors *The Dunwich Horror *X: The Man With The X Ray Eyes *The Lady in Red *Targets (directed by Bogdanovich and co-starring Boris Karloff) PS: Sorry the post is so long, but Roger Corman’s impact on Hollywood was profound. So many talented writers, directors, producers and actors owe their start to Roger Corman’s independently financed and operated film factory. Sadly, Corman passed away last year at the ripe old age of 98. For fans of independent cinema, he is greatly missed.

Just Plain Bob

The middle one

🚩

Listed below are three all-time classic sci-fi films I feel would get excellent YT engagement. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951) Forbidden Planet (1956)

Joe J

You're killing me, Joe. You're killing me.

Clarence Newman

Heads up, Jen Murray is doing Bullitt this week, and she did Cool Hand Luke last week. Hint, Hint Cassie. 😉

Joe J

Patreon only, no YT edit will be done. Cassie anticipates low YT views, she said the ad revenue won't cover the edit cost.

Joe J

Was there ever a YT edit for "A Matter of Life and Death"? Did I miss an announcement?

bgb1975 (Brian)

I believe offering “frenchies” to strangers and then chasing them down when they refuse to reciprocate is considered the time-honored way to celebrate a trophy win, and you should continue to do so as much as possible.

Richard Maurer

By the way, and totally off-topic.....my English football (soccer) team, Tottenham Hotspur, won a trophy last night for the first time in 17 years (!!!!!) and I am today basking in the unexpected glory. I don't know what winning feels like, so I am offering Frenchies to passers-by and chasing them down the street when they refuse to reciprocate. I just want to spread the joy. For the record, there has never been a better time to harangue, insult, disagree with and generally abuse me, because I believe I will feel no pain. You might get a flying Frenchie in response, so please lay off the garlic. I'm so very happy. And fair warning to all.....now the dam is broken, I fully expect to win Pick-a-flick next month.

Clarence Newman

Speaking of chimps and apes and rangy tangs and the like, wasn't there a series in the 1960s about the day to day life of four monkeys? Cassie should watch that.

Clarence Newman

I’ve noticed her views in general have been going up this last month. Maybe it’s just better films in general are being watched now. Whatever, just glad things are looking up for her.

Richard Maurer

Cassie herself wants to react to GoT next, 73 episodes I think. As for other shows, I assume she would have a poll for her patrons to choose.

Joe J

Would really enjoy 12 Monkeys TV series reaction. It's not really long and I think Cassie will love it.

Dmitry Ishkov

I've been happy to see a much higher percentage of pre-80s films so far this year. Excellent YT views for some, others have done reasonably well, sometimes better than some of the 90s and later films being reacted to. As someone who wants to see more 60s & 70s films on the channel, this is encouraging. MP Holy Grail 214k The Outlaw Josey Wales 165k Planet of the Apes 155k Blazing Saddles 133k Lawrence of Arabia 93k Bad News Bears 71k My Fair Lady 69k Beneath the POTA 63k Breakfast at Tiffany's 57k Escape from the POTA 54k Conquest of the POTA 45k The Searchers 44k The French Connection 40k

Joe J

Oh yeah, it's kind of hidden there. I would switch it to the Fellowship, because it's both the best and the start of the trilogy, and place it toward the top of the PiB YT homepage where it's more visible

Milton William Burray

For some reason, I missed Richard's post below about the Media Knights watching Brightburn, and the ensuing discussions about drawing more subscribers to the channel. Everyone's moved on from that, so I'll add my point in a new post. Milt suggested Cassie put a full length watchalong on YT as a taster for that crowd of what they can get on Patreon. I just need to point out that she's already done that 2 years ago, and the film she chose was LoTR - Return of the King. As of today, it's got 67k views. Whether it drew any subscribers to Patreon, only Cassie's team would know.

Clarence Newman

Yeah it's either a glitch or it's been closed

Milton William Burray

Joe J

I'm guessing she's already seen Good Will Hunting? I don't know how you guys know what she's seen already, is there a list somewhere?

John A

YT views in 2021 & 2022 were gangbusters for movie and music reactors. Everyone's at home watching YT. Cassie did mostly all the big tent-pole movies in those first 2 years. What do 2023 & 2024 YT views look like? 2023 views declined 26% from 2022, and 2024 views declined 29% from 2023. So, the problem is how to slow the decline year or year moving forward.

Joe J

Apologies for the length of this, guys, but members of the brethren down below on "Update" have been talking about YT views and which films do well and which don't, and it's got my tiny mind to thinking. I had a spare few minutes, so I've gone rummaging and come up with some numbers. Below are the reactions that have got Cassie the best viewing numbers on YT so far: Million Sellers LoTR Return of the King – Complete solo reaction – 1.5m Terminator 2 – 1.5m Fury – 1.3m Saving Private Ryan – 1.3m RRR – 1.2m Braveheart – 1.1m Over 500k Hacksaw Ridge – 991k Top Gun: Maverick – 953k Jaws – 940k Deadpool – 927k Star Wars 3: Revenge of the Syph - 908k Independence Day – 899k The Patriot – 898k The Last Samurai – 855k Jurassic Park – 834k LoTR Fellowship of the Ring solo Parts 1 & 2 together – 790k We Were Soldiers – 778k Star Wars: Rogue One – 716k Empire Strikes Back – 703k LoTR Return of the King solo Part 3 of 3 – 682k (Parts 1 & 2 did 437k and 463k respectively) Black Hawk Down – 676k LoTR Return of the King rewatch with Carly Part 2 of 2 – 664k (Part 1 did 420k) Return of the Jedi – 662k LoTR Fellowship of the Ring rewatch with Carly Part 1 of 2 – 622k (Part 2 did 487k) (LoTR Two Towers rewatch did 431k and 443k respectively) 300 – 652k The Matrix – 641k Rocky 4 – 618k LotR Two Towers Full Reaction (Extended) – 615k Lone Survivor – 613k Schindler’s List – 609k Full Metal Jacket – 602k Star Wars 1977 – 601k Die Hard – 591k Airplane – 589k Deadpool & Wolverine – 580k Rocky 3 – 579k Terminator – 575k LoTR Fellowship of the Ring solo Part 1 of 2 – 575k (Part 2 did 382k) Meet Joe Black – 572k First Blood – 571k Silence of the Lambs – 567k Star Wars I: Phantom Menace – 558k Rocky 2 – 553k Tombstone – 549k Crocodile Dundee – 549k Rocky – 548k Aliens – 538k Spiderman: No Way Home – 534k Das Boot – 533k Raiders of the Lost Ark – 527k The oldies tend to do between 40k and 70k - some lower, but mostly over 50k. The pre-1960 examples below did quite a bit more: It’s a Wonderful Life 1946 – 468k Ben-Hur 1959 – 294k Seven Samurai 1954 – 236k North By Northwest 1959 – 118k White Christmas 1954 – 99k Singin in the rain 1954 – 94k Godzilla 1954 – 90k King Kong 1933 – 81k Animated movies tend to be slightly higher than oldies (70k-90k), but The Lion King did 329k Cassie's first ever reaction (Shawshank) is just 6k shy of 500k views As for her recent stuff - Star Trek 2009, the Gladiator rewatch and Monty Python are all over 200k already. It begs the question - why isn't Cassie as healthy as her channel is???

Clarence Newman

Cheesy fun - sums up the movie nicely.

Richard Maurer

Purgatory (1999) - Yea or Nay? I am not a big Western fan but I rewatched it recently and, as cheesy as it is, I really enjoy this film.

Hope it gets to 7,777 comments soon.

Commenting here just to get the comment total to 6,666 😂

Caomhan84

I was wondering why it was getting glitchy all of a sudden.

Richard Maurer

Oh for Pete's sake they've just changed Patreon again 🙄 The staff need to justify their employment by arbitrarily changing things otherwise there's no reason for the company to keep them on

Milton William Burray

Good point. Cassie definitely has patterns to the types of films and genres she mostly watches, and after 4 years I don't hold out much hope that will change. Brightburn could only get watched here via PAF. Most of the films I would like to see a reaction to will never get one here on PIB. I get a few wins here and there, Lol. EDIT: I do watch Media Knights from time to time. Good reactions and excellent edits. They don't seem to do any polls and don't have much engagement with patrons.

Joe J

The Media Knights got 70k YT views in 2 days watching Brightburn. In comparison Close Encounters of the Third kind got 82k - in 3 weeks. I’m mentioning this to show that thinking outside the box as far as content is concerned can pay off.

Richard Maurer

Hi Cassie first time watching harry potter and the chamber of secrets

David

The million-dollar question now is, will she finally edit the first one for YT as a result? 🤔 We'll see about what she thinks of "Batman Returns." I feel as though its reputation has only grown over the years, and I've envcountered a fair amount who actually like it more than the first. I don't think Cassie was used to old school superhero movies when she saw that first one, so perhaps her opinion might change... or maybe it was just always Tim Burton's tone and aesthetic for these movies that rubbed her the wrong way -- which is even more unrestrained here. 🤨 But, yes, it's good to see she'll finally be diving into the original "Mad Max" trilogy, which has sort of been picking up steam lately (CineBinge just finished them, and I believe OctoKrool is now taking them on).

Byrd N. Hand

In the YT LIVE, the winner of Poll #1 was "Batman Returns" The winner of Poll #2 was "Mad Max'. IMO Cassie will dislike Batman Returns more than Batman 89, Lol. Glad she is finally getting to start the Mad Max trilogy.

Joe J

Clay, I know this is dum of me, but can you explain what Patreon DMs are? Sorry, I don’t do technology! 🤦 Also, how can people be a Patreon, but not be a a paying Patreon member? Sorry, I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed sometimes!

Mark White

Cassie currently has 14,869 Patreon members (patrons), 3,236 paid members. Live, Part 2, yesterday. Question: “How backed up are you with Patreon DMs?” Cassie Answer: [shaking head left to right]. “Like to the infinity. Like I don’t know how I’m ever going to catch up. That backed up. I don’t know what to do.”

Clay F

Remember how on Patreon you used to be able to access all your old posts without have to scroll through the post you made them on? I miss that feature, and I don’t know why got rid of it but they shouldn’t have.

Richard Maurer

"A good feature for patreon to add would be self-destructing comments." This is infuriating. No comment or post should ever be removed or deleted. Further, they should only be edited with a note detailing the edit (excluding minor edits within a few minutes- grammar, spelling, etc.). Major edits should be done with a strike-through or the best equivalent possible in the forum. If we are throwing out Patreon wishes, aside from treed comments, mine would be a clear marking if someone edited a comment, similar to what reddit does. "Also, I think PiB patreon channel needs a theme change." No it doesn't.

Mike Lemon

A good feature for patreon to add would be self-destructing comments. So if someone only wanted a comment to be visible for a little while, they can set it to auto delete after a time they specify. Also, I think PiB patreon channel needs a theme change. I recently saw a channel that had nice purply colors. Purple is the color of royalty. Hex color #F7F2F2 has got to go. This comment will delete in 1 hour.

Think Illusionist may've actually done better at the box office at the time. Love Phillip Glass' work.

Chris Thom

The Illusionist (2006) often gets overlooked because it was released at approximately the same time as The Prestige. Plot-wise, I don't think it stands up to the other movie, but I love the music from Philip Glass, and the show's aesthetic, and I think it is the type of movie that Cassie would appreciate for its romantic subplot and performance by Jessica Biel.

The Day Cassie And Carly Watch Game Of Thrones That’ll Make My Day

Ethan Lewis

9 to 5, King Kong and Twelve Monkeys are on my list. Ergo.....

Clarence Newman

So, I guess we're getting a poll soon for the Sweet 16 teams that were eliminated. Cassie did this last year. Some good ones here, maybe she'll watch the top 2, or 3. Here are the 12 films. 9 to 5 (1980) Army of Darkness (1992) Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1987) Godzilla (2014) King Kong (2005) The Book of Eli (2010) Wind River (2017) 12 Monkeys (1995) The Maltese Falcon (1941) A Bronx Tale (1993) Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) Pitch Black (2000)

Joe J

Never seen Flight of the Navigator, Mark. Isn't that the one with the kid?

Clarence Newman

Clarence, I couldn’t agree more. I too have tried other reactors, including Jen, but I find them frustrating to watch, not at all relaxing and enjoyable like Cassie. I think you are right, she is very facially expressive, she doesn’t need to say a lot because her expressions tell you what she is thinking. But, when she does talk it’s at the right time and not a commentary. Don’t worry, I get the feeling she is a very forgiving lady😉 Also, on “Cannonball run” my first ever essay I wrote at school was on that movie. I could almost quote every line! As a little kid I was pretty much obsessed with Clash of the titans, cannonball run and Star Wars. But my happiest cinema memory with my mum was “Flight of the Navigator”

Mark White

I tried it and it worked. Did you try the direct link?

🚩

Is it me or is there something wrong with the Collateral reaction link? If I try and click it, the screen goes grey and just stays that way. Every other link seems to work so it's not a channel thing.

Clarence Newman

Proper cinema is as dead as proper rock 'n' roll. There are still groups playing guitars, still feature length pictures being made, but the art has gone. Modern films can be alright, but even the best ones, though technically decent, are very sterile, and average in the context of the last 100 years of cinema

Milton William Burray

As a complement to Joe's post, this is a rough count of the number of movies by release date reacted to. TV series not included. MOVIES 2020s – 25 2010s – 77 2000s – 81 1990s – 144 1980s – 81 pre-1980 – 80 OLD MOVIES She reacts to more old movies (e.g., pre-1980 or pre-1970) than most channels. I have generally enjoyed watching her reactions to older movies. An issue is that while there is a vocal plurality of patrons that prefers older movies, that plurality is not huge (as evidence by poll results). That is typical for reactor channels. MOVIES (1980 to 2009) Good movies during this time period. My guess is that the largest plurality on the channel is patrons age 32-55 who lean toward movies from this time period? 2020s MOVIES I would like to see her react to more 2020s movies. A lot of good stuff being released. An issue is blockbusters get the attention, while others (e.g., creative indie films, foreign films, etc.) don't. Another issue is that there is generally little nostalgia with 2020s movies. Also, there is hatred by some for anything new or different. A couple of 2020s polls would be good.

Clay F

I agree. With the obvious exception of the massively requested and hugely overdue joint Paul Newman/Steve McQueen poll, whereby my list is already perfect. To retweet.... The Hustler (1961) Cincinnati Kid (1965) Cool Hand Luke (1967) Bullitt (1968) Papillon (1973) Towering Inferno (1974) The Verdict (1982) ....and I'm adding Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and The Long Hot Summer (both 1958) ....and Slap Shot (1977)

Clarence Newman

Just something to be aware of when you ask for theme polls - they’re much more likely to take your theme suggestions than they are your actual movie suggestions for that theme. Just saying if they do your theme, even if you make the “perfect” list of films for it, it will be changed, sometimes adding films that you think don’t really belong in the poll. I don’t know why this is, and I’m not going to speculate, but trust me, I do have a little bit of experience with this. So if they ever do your theme poll don’t expect to see every film you want to be on it.

Richard Maurer

I'd add "Altered States," "Outland," "The Last Starfighter," "1984," "Enemy Mine," and, though it's probably too obscure to win a poll, "The Quiet Earth" as well.

Byrd N. Hand

Ideas for an 80s Sci-Fi Poll for Dean Holt's Birthday • Cocoon • *batteries not included • Dreamscape • Flight of the Navigator • Short Circuit • Innerspace • Escape from New York • Cherry 2000 • Trancers

5 are on my list. I'm pretty sure Cape Fear is the DeNiro one. In which case....yikes.

Clarence Newman

16 movies remaining. COMEDY REGIONAL Blazing Saddles (1974) – Auburn (1) 9 to 5 (1980) – Michigan (5) Dirty Rotten Scoundrels – Ole Miss (6) Army of Darkness – Michigan St (2) ACTION/ADVENTURE REGIONAL Leon the Professional (1994) – Duke (1) Godzilla (2014) – Arizona (4) King Kong (2005) – BYU (6) The Book of Eli (2010) – Alabama (2) DRAMA REGIONAL Gattaca – Florida (1) Wind River (2017) – Maryland (4) The Maltese Falcon (1941) – Texas Tech (3) A Bronx Tale – Arkansas (10) WAR/THRILLER REGIONAL Cape Fear (which one?) – Houston (1) 12 Monkeys – Purdue (4) Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) – Kentucky (3) Pitch Black (2000) – Tennessee (2)

Clay F

Polls are always a good idea, Joe, and those are two good ones. Cassie generally does right by us anyway, so I'm not radical about it, but I do think the only way to give a lot of great films a shot at the title is to target the polls.

Clarence Newman

Guys, is there general agreement we would want the following (2) polls every month? - One poll from our patron suggested list of polls. Which poll to do each month would be voted on by patrons. - One random poll from popcornrequests. Cassie could alternate from Top 200, 201-500, 501-1000..and so on.

Joe

I honestly still like the first "Pink Panther" the best; I guess I like that it's more of an ensemble effort than just a Peter Sellers vehicle (not there's anything wrong with that), and I also like the extremely '60s look and feel. And I do like in Revenge how Cato was finally given more to do.

Byrd N. Hand

The later Pink Panther movies were all better than the original. "Revenger of the Pink Panther" has an uinforgettable fart in an elevator scene. They had to film it multiple times because the actors kept breaking up. "A Shot in the Dark" features a (PG Rated) stop at a nudist camp, with the inspector wondering where to keep his badge and gun.

Ronald Carpenter

Mostly agree, but Beverly Hills Cop 2?......no.

Clarence Newman

Ok guys, please don’t shoot me down for this! I Just got this of a mixture IMDb and time mag. I haven’t even seen some of them! Sequels that are as good if not better than originals: (apparently) Rocky 2 Indiana jones and the last crusade Empire strikes back LOTR the two towers (surely not a sequel?) Aliens Terminator 2 Star Trek 2 the Wrath of Khan Beverly hill cop 2 Superman 2 Dune 2 Dawn of the dead The Godfather part 2 Friday the 13th part 2 Mad max 2 Top gun Maverick Mission impossible Fallout Thor Ragnorok Dawn of the planet of the Apes 2014 Patriot Games ( is that a sequel?!) Fast five Captain America the winter solider X men 2 Logan Toy Story 3 Hell boy 2 the Golden army National lampoon’s Christmas vacation From Russia with love Shot in the dark Bride of Frankenstein

Mark White

Great list, Milt, but I'd substitute Predator 2 for Godfather 3.

Clarence Newman

Ideas for a sequels poll: • James Bond - Thunderball • Jaws II • Terminator III: Rise of the Machines • Pink Panther - Shot in the Dark • Rambo II • Predator II • Nightmare on Elm Street II

Milton William Burray

Looks pretty good to me . Assuming ( and you know what they say about assuming) that Cassie watches all of the final four again this year I should get at least 1 film I like watched, and quite possibly more than one.

Last year, the Pollception II (“Poll for a Poll! I need help.”) results were: --Throwback – 9% --John Grisham – 7% --Westerns – 10% --Sequels – 14% --Comedies – 16% --Hitchcock – 10% --Runner Up – 35% (Highlander and Hot Fuzz were eventual winners) Suggested POLLCEPTION III Generally abandon the candidates of Pollception II above (except maybe keep western genre) and START FRESH. For sure get rid of Sequels. Could include GENRES, DIRECTORS, ACTORS: *Genres, e.g., Sci-Fi, Noir and neo-Noir, War, Western, Romance, Psychological Horror (not typical horror), Historical, Drama (this is broad), Thriller, Crime, etc. *Randomly-selected Directors *Randomly-selected Actors/Actresses. Or specify, e.g., Newman, McQueen, John Wayne, Cary Grant, Denzel, De Niro, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Christian Bale, Johnny Depp, Tom Hanks, Katharine Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, Kate Winslet, Natalie Portman, Julia Roberts, Jessica Chastain, Michelle Williams, etc.

For my Gene Hackman tribute tonight, I will be watching Wyatt Earp (1994). I think I've seen it once, but I can't remember anything about it. May also watch Scarecrow (1973) with Al Pacino later in the week.

You realise, Bjorn, that the best way to get the wheel to land on your name is to pick a different film just one time. 😄

Björn Karlsson

Excellent series. 9 episodes. The documentary series was groundbreaking. Awesome.

I just left this comment on an old reaction video for Glory. I thought it would be better placed here. Ken Burns made a series for PBS called The Civil War which is mind blowingly good. It has excellent period music and major actors voicing the letters and words of historical figures. Nine episodes. It is from the late eighties. You maybe should check that one out.. It would be highly educational to anyone not familiar with the American war between the states.

How about a 40s Noir poll?

Joe R

Lets make some specific poll recommendations for Cassie to compile a master-list for the year. Perhaps Cassie could develop a poll submissions form we could use. I'll nominate these for now: - Actor polls for Paul Newman and Steve McQueen - Sci-fi polls by decade for the 50s & 60s - Horror polls by decade for the 50s thru 80s. - A classic westerns poll.

Joe

I think even Paulie Shore movies are preferred over David Cronenberg on PiB

Milton William Burray

I've had another random thought, guys (as 20 or 30 patrons do a weary facepalm). Bear with me, though. This one's a world shaker. In my ongoing quest to get Cassie to watch The Fly in October, I think it would be a good idea to balance her perspective by offering up an even worse case scenario. We're talking real nightmare fuel here, so buckle up. Cassie doesn't like flying, right? Well, imagine if she has to do a long haul flight on her own one day.....and one of us nimrods sits down in the seat next to her. "Hey! Is your name Cassie?" ("Uhhhh....yyyyeeess?") "Oh my God, it's ME! What do you mean "Who?" ME! This is so cool! Gimme a hug! And a lock of your hair! Now we can talk for 8 hours about what films you simply HAVE to react to!" Wherever she is, Cassie just shuddered for no apparent reason. I'm sure she'd agree, though. Compared to that scenario, I think watching The Fly for us would be a walk in the park.

Clarence Newman

I know another one that would be perfect. It even has love in its name. 😄

Björn Karlsson

Your name (2016). Would perfect for love month .

Sure is, JB. You can put the film name in "Search", or click on "Collections" above. There's one for Patreon exclusives in there. The exclusives are full reactions only.

I remember liking The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996) -- thought it slick. I liked Point of No Return (1993) -- Bridget Fonda is hot. [I also liked Bridget Fonda in "Jackie Brown" (1997) -- my No. 2 favorite Tarantino film after Pulp Fiction.] Under Siege is Seagal's best movie. Hard not like Taken. I have nostalgia for Escape From New York (1981) (Kurt Russel) -- released the year I graduated high school. I like "Bad Boys" (1983) (Sean Penn) [RT=89%] but not "Bad Boys" (1995) [RT=43%]. As for Passenger 57, please no more bad Wesley Snipes movies. We've had enough with Blade. For good Wesely Snipes movies, see, e.g., Dolemite Is My Name (2019), New Jack City (1991), Down in the Delta (1998).

I am sure that's disconcerting to not see your pick, but the mods/Ben are resolving that stuff. Your post here will likely get noticed. Yet, you can go on Discord and message one of the mods (Kaielle, Coleton B, Jon Johns, or ItsmeDave). Cassie suggested to "ask a mod."

Cassie, on pick a flick, I’ve just gone through the list 5 times and I CANT see my pick “touching the void” There is a “enter the void” from Martin. But I’m sure it’s not there? Could you please check for me? Thanks and much appreciated 🙂

No Way Out won.

Posted this is the wrong place to moving it to general chat instead. Unfortunately, I can't see the pick a flick film draw because it's locked behind the pay wall and Cassie said my film would be included in it this month. I know it's highly unlikely I won but could someone please tell me which film won the draw please and did you happen to notice if Watership Down 1978 was one of the films listed please. Thank you so much.

I'd also recommend Albert Brooks' first 2 films for any other time of the year: "Real Life," "Modern Romance," and "Lost in America."

Byrd N. Hand

Cocktail is a must for Cassie, Mark. Not your standard rom-com drama, but full of really good characters she'll have no trouble engaging with.

Clarence Newman

February recommendation. Defending Your Life (1991)

clays283

Cassie, with February in mind, how about a Romance, “Cocktail” with your man Tom Cruise and Elisabeth Shue. Most people on here will probably dislike it and to be honest not my usual movie choice, but I have feeling it might be a good Cassie movie.

Mark White

From what I've seen so far she usually likes to fit in a watch-a-long.

So the avalanche of Lord of the Rings reactions seems to be slowing down and I thought I’d give a shout out to the four best I watched - in no particular order: SoFieReacts LiteWeight Reactions Camilla’s Corner Kaliwali Good job to all. I’m not going to bad mouth the the bad ones, but there were many.

Those are both good. I Am Sam would be another good one. Great cast. Sean Penn, Dakota Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Richard Schiff, Diane Wiest, and Laura Dern.

SPECIAL NEEDS genre. In the spirit of the holiday season, recommended positive content about people with special needs: *THE PEANUT BUTTER FALCON (2019). Adventure/Comedy. --Shia LaBeouf. Dakota Johnson. This entertaining movie does more for people w/Down syndrome than any movie in history. RT 95% (audience 96%). --“A feelgood adventure brought to life by outstanding performances.” *AS WE SEE IT (2022) (8 episodes). Comedy/Drama. Sosie Bacon (Kevin Bacon’s daughter) is lead in this series about people on the spectrum. --“an emotional, touching series that gives each character a compelling, empathetic storyline.” A big-hearted show. “Brilliant [series] will have you laughing out loud one moment and choking up the next.” --IMDb 8.2, RT 90% (audience 97%)

Honestly, my 2 biggest dislikes are channels that either have usually more than 2 reactors on a given video (Badd Medicine being the exception, since they always give *very* thoughtful post-movie/TV show discussions... though they rarely react to anything that interests me 🤷‍♂️) or channels with multiple reactors that keep doing many of the same movies just with different people (Popcorn Roulette is another example of this) -- of course, if some the latter did other reactions with their other reactors in an unconventional way, e.g. watching the Middle-Earth saga in chronological order, the Star Wars saga in any order other than release, etc., they'd be far more interesting to me. 🤔

Byrd N. Hand

Recently I was perusing two of the big factory reactors, CinePals and Reel Rejects. With a rotating cast of reactors, different reactor pairs can watch the same films over and over, as long as one reactor hasn't seen it, right? There'll never run out of popular movies, lol.

Joe

Have wanted to see that for a long time. I remember Scorsese speaking very highly of it, too.

The Night of the Hunter was rated No. 90 on Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments. In a 2007 listing of the 100 Most Beautiful Films, Cahiers du cinéma ranked The Night of the Hunter No. 2. It is among the top ten in the BFI list of the 50 films you should see by the age of 14. In 2008, it was ranked as the 71st greatest movie of all time by Empire magazine in its issue of The 500 Greatest Movies of All Time. In 2012, Sight and Sound magazine's decennial "Greatest Films of All Time" poll ranked it as the 63rd greatest film ever made; in 2022, the same poll put it at No. 25. I was so excited when I first joined patreon, thinking I was going to get Cassie to watch some of my favorite movies. As the days, weeks, and months rolled by, the excitement diminished and reality set in. I most likely will never get her to watch even one of my requests. She has watched a couple hundred movies I've loved, but there's more to go.

V M

Day 17 of asking for Your Name.( dubbed w/Carly) for tender November .

Philip G.

you'll have to watch the Boba Fett series (last two episodes) to see how that happened! :)

Philip Alan

I've really enjoyed your reactions for almost 2 years, and I just recently joined as a member. I'm not sure if this is the right place for this message, so apologies in advance if not. I have a question regarding the Mandalorian series, (which I've really liked). At the end of season 2, Grogu leaves with Luke. And the start of season 3, Grogu is back with Mando. Did we ever see how they got back together? Thanks! -Rick

Rick Savage

I stopped by today! I'll stop by again tomorrow!

Cassie

Hopefully a minion will take one more swing past the post office before Saturday...

Cheshire

Just watched your reaction to Open Range and would agree with a lot of your members, you must watch Lonesome Dove as your next western.

Steph

Same here

Daniel N

The Popcorn Requests link does not work for me (on PC in Chrome or Edge, or on my iPhone with the app).

Clay F

Please, Please consider watching “Panic Room” by David Fincher

Daniel N

Nowhere To Run (1993) Jean Claude Van Damme

For February love month the movie Your Name is must watch ! With Carly in dub .

Philip G.

They saw it at the New York premier, it wasn't filmed, but you can see the behind the scenes here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmBEnR2cge8 I think they mentioned something about a re-watch sometime. Maybe around when the next one comes out?

Mike Lemon

When do we get to see you reaction to Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning?

Jeff Lunan

Update regarding my previous message: Harrison's Flowers (2000) is currently not avalible on Prime or any other streaming service, however I will let you know when it is again. Thank You

Timothy Fisher

The Pelican Brief please! Denzel and Julia, nuff said

Odd Thomas

Personally, I would go with the Morgan Freeman approach and just watch good movies whenever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRnTovm26I4

Mike Lemon

If I could also give my two cents regarding Black History Month, I'd make the suggestion of deviating from the usual historical/slavery/civil rights type of films we've seen so often. Although I still think you should watch Malcolm X because it's that good and important, for the rest of the films, you could broaden out and do other types of films that black/African American culture has given us. You could do a drama like 'Do The Right Thing' or 'Boyz N The Hood'. Or crime films like 'Juice' (1992) which is a personal favorite of mine, featuring Tupac Shakur in probably his best performance. You could even throw in some comedies like 'Coming To America' and 'Friday' (1995). I also have to throw in some sports ones that include several themes and genres, 'Above The Rim' and He Got Game. Lots of stuff to watch other than the same old same old.

Shehab Dawoud

In the Heat of the Night would be fantastic for Black History Month. Normally when you watch a movie for BHM, it's about Black history. In the Heat of the Night *made* Black history. A huge moment in the history of film and Black empowerment. Plus, it would be good to watch a movie for BHM that won't leave you sobbing by the end. It's admirable to seek out movies on the Black experience, but it doesn't *all* need to be Black trauma.

D.M. Lipkin

Please watch Sunshine (2007), amazing sci-fi with Cillian Murphy and Michelle Yeoh!

Odd Thomas

There is a new True Detective coming out January 14th with Jodi Foster.

Zachary K.

So?!? Has Carly seen SCROOGED (1988)?!? lol

Randolph Tirazona

Happy Holidays to everyone else as well! Of course

sean smith

Best reaction channel ever. So chill and very kind. Happy Holidays to everyone involved making this channel as special as it is!

sean smith

I know Cassie has seen Pride & Prejudice (1995) already, but what about Carly? Could be a good sisters stream.

Grad

Merry Christmas to all the PIB family

Zachary K.

Silverado a star packed western

Rob Jones

Would love to see you react to The Hangover or Ted Lasso.

FischerMax98

Just watched your full length reaction to Fools Rush In. I have to say it is one of my favorite movies. Afterwards you said it might've been the push you need to watch Friends. I just want to say this, to KNOW Matthew Perry, is to watch Friends, beginning to end. It truly is a master piece of comedy and has love story's thru out the series. I promise, you'll love it.

Block LeRoy

Cassie, So as I was preparing a big box of treats for you and family at Christmas time. I was thinking you have a very sunny disposition. It's a great trait to have some great people had it Robert Kennedy had it, Sharon Tate had it. Barack Obama has it. I know how you love Christmas movies, and a remake of an old Christmas classic. A Christmas Carol (2019) with Guy Pierce as Ebenezer Scrooge. This is a very dark version. But I think you will like it. Scrooge is 100% more evil in this version then in anything you have seen before. Tom Hardy help produce it. I think you should give it a whirl.

Zachary K.

She should use Popcorn request more often. Popcorn request it self is a poll.

Björn Karlsson

Just because someone wins a trivia contest means they have no bias and would make the best choices? And what about the people who for whatever reason weren't able to be part of the contest? Like myself for instance. I'm not saying I'd for sure win but I can guarantee I'd at least be competitive. I also have seen in the IT (movie, YT edit) comments sections several people claiming they should be part of an "advisory board" to protect Cassie from films that are too scary or violent for her - wrap your head around that. Where does it all end? Look, I get it, I have certainly made my opposition known to certain films winning polls or even being in polls in the first place. I mean if this martial arts poll has bunch of American movies or even one like Rush Hour that will dominate the poll it would be a travesty. But the idea of putting some patrons above the others, no matter your intentions, just wouldn't fly. Nobody wants to be told their taste in films is awful (even when that's true) and they have to watch these other films that "smarter" patrons chose for them. If Cassie did that she'd have a patron revolt, and probably lose a lot of subscribers.

Richard Maurer

Lol @ 2-Can. I appreciate your loyalty towards our queen Cassie Popcorn I. Let me assure you that I only want what is best for the queen and her reaction library. To be clear: the idea was that the composition of the council would change after every trivia night. I agree that we wouldn't want the council to become too powerful.

Grad

It always starts with a colonel, someone not in control but with access. Look at how that has worked through history, see, eg, Gaddafi in Libya. I, for one, signed up for Popcorn In Bed, not Popcorn in Benghazi, because we all (now) know how that turned out. A day may come when the courage of our host and moderator fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand - with Cassie!

2-Can

Orrrrr, we could make me supreme dictator for life and I get to choose all the movies!!!!!!!. Seriously, as much as we all have problems with some of the choices our fellow patrons make the Democratic approach we take now is still the fairest way to do this. And I can guarantee that putting some of the patrons above the others would not sit well with the rest, including myself.

Richard Maurer

If she eventually watches Masters of the Air miniseries I hope she watches Memphis Belle first otherwise it would look pretty dated by comparison.

Hiraoka Toru

2-Can: I understand your worries, but the idea is not to have the council "run things" or have any sort of power that isn't already given to the polls. It would basically serve as a complement to the polls, to help ensure a good variety in movies. So it would still be a very strong monarchy.

Grad

Naaah. If she establishes some group of "Popcorn Colonels" to help run things, it's just a matter of time before one or two of these colonels leads a coup to take control of things. The established order dissolves and recriminations are sure to follow. We have a benevolent monarch now, whose good judgment and character has led us all to join here voluntarily. Leave well-enough alone and keep the would-be dictators at bay.

2-Can

You have my sword.

rakeshldn

Here's an idea: Form a special popcorn council. A small group of trusted community members based on the top seven? or so contestants from the latest trivia night. Let the council have some influence over movie selections (maybe taking over some of that responsiblity from the polls). The purpose of the council would be to promote a good balance of movies.

Grad

That might be more explicit than she'd like to watch

Katie Jackson

I'd add Road House to this, she hasn't seen that. Everyone has to watch Road House at least once lol

Joe

Little Giants!

Joe

She still hasn't seen Sixteen Candles!!!!

Tara

Don't forget 'The Big Chill' 1983 'The Bounty' 1984 'Cocoon'1988 'Raising Arizona' 1987 'Moonstruck' 1986 'Out of Africa' 1985 'Hannah and Her Sisters' 1986 'Dead Poets Society' 1989 'St.Elmo's Fire' 1985 'Eddie & the Cruisers' 1983..

Celeste McAllister

It looks like she has seen The Sandlot, Space Jam and The Mighty Ducks but not the rest.

Katie Jackson

Something tells me she's seen most if not all of these

Philip G.

Absolutely, I have no problem with people adding to any lists I make for suggestions.

Katie Jackson

Very nice, Katie. Could we also add: "Foul Play", "The Blues Brothers", "Arthur", and "On Golden Pond" to this list?

Mark Vaderr

I would absolutely have to vote for The Sandlot in that poll... such nostalgia in that for me.

Andrew Rose

Recommendations for a "That's So 80's" poll. *Flight Of The Navigator. *Who Framed Roger Rabbit. *The Neverending Story. *Big. *Mystic Pizza. *Honey, I Shrunk The Kids. *Flashdance. *Gremlins. *9 To 5. *La Bamba. *Some Kind Of Wonderful. *An Officer And A Gentleman. *The Outsiders.

Katie Jackson

Recommendations for a kids sports poll. *The Sandlot. *The Mighty Ducks. *Rookie Of The Year. *Angels In The Outfield. *Little Giants. *Little Big League. *Space Jam

Katie Jackson

Hey Cassie, have you thought about doing a "Killer Thriller" poll. Maybe make it a theme week for January. I recommend: *Nick Of Time. *Sleeping With The Enemy. *Copycat. *The Bone Collector. *The Good Son. *Double Jeopardy. *Kiss The Girls. *Chain Reaction. *Outbreak. *12 Monkeys. *Snake Eyes. *The Client. -These are just from the 90's but I figured it would give you a good start on a poll.

Katie Jackson

I loved her Halloween reaction. I wish she would've watched Halloween II.

James Sweeney

With Scary-but-not-to-Scary October over and the holidays officially on the way, I'm starting my campaign for Cassie and Carli to watch 'Stepmom'. I wasn't able to find it on Cassie's list and neither lady recognized Ed Harris from it so I think it's safe (shocking, but safe) to assume that they haven't seen it. It's an amazing women' movie and family movie and perfect for the holidays, so let's get the push going to at least get it on a poll - STEPMOM, please!

Story Archer

I am now an official member of the "Butter-Tier"and everyone knows EVERYTHING is better with butter! No Sir, none of that I can't believe it's not butter stuff for me. As George Jefferson used to say: "I'm movin on up...movin on up!

Barry Justice

Cassie, with the recent passing of Matthew Perry recently, it might be a good time to watch "The Whole Nine Yards." RIP Chandler Bing.

David Collins

Cassie what have you done? You put out a Veteran's Day poll and blow everything up. People freaking out all over the place. Who knew war movies could be so dangerous. 😋 Next time stick with the classics. The Longest Day, A Bridge to far, Kelly's Heroes, Sgt. York, Pork Chop Hill, etc.

Rick Williams

I'm not 100%, but if I had to guess, I'd say YouTube was Original. The movie was created by Touchstone Pictures, which Disney Founded and still Owns. The Home Video versions, on DVD or Blu-ray, are released under Touchstone Home Entertainment. Disney will always be the Provider for the film, since they own it. From everything I can find, Disney+ seems to be the only place where it is Edited for Content. Again not 100%, but I believe all other Streamers, probably have the Original Film, the same as if you were to buy the film on disc. At this point in time, I'd say it was your safest bet. If you see a Disclaimer at the beginning of the film saying, "Edited for Content." Then you'll know. If you don't, then most likely you'll be OK. Tonight is going to be the night We find out for sure, if Disney+ is the only place where the film is edited

Larry Darrell

The version on YouTube says "Provider: Disney" but the runtime is 1:42:17. So now I don't know what to believe.

Carol_White

There are other words dubbed over as well, which in each instance takes you out of the film. The words they added in place of, don’t give the same Impact, as the original and just seem Odd. Overall from what I can tell, there’s approximately 19 seconds of dialogue in one scene, removed at 2-3 different points in the scene. Again it makes the jokes less impactful, good or bad, and you are left wondering why the characters are acting a certain way. The Dialogue removed was used for a specific reason, to elicit a certain response by the characters and audience. Without the original dialogue, the characters actions seem unmotivated, and the audience a little confused, in my opinion. The correct runtime for the film, per the Blu-Ray is, 1:42:16. Disney’s version is 1:42:02 with a 5 second “Edited for Content” Disclaimer added in. I’m not certain, but I believe Disney is the only Streamer to have edited the movie. I don’t see any reason why Amazon or iTunes would have the edited version.

Larry Darrell

-Is the only difference that Disney bleeped a few F-bombs? -Are the two versions the same run time? Thanks. -While I would prefer to watch the original, most of us will be streaming what is available online to stream. I will stream for free with my Disney+ subscription.

Clay F

Special Request - I may have noted this before but "Christmas Jars" with Cassie and Carly.

Randolph Tirazona

I'm no prepper either, but you're not looking in my cupboards. And until streaming sound catches up with physical.

AdrianF

I prefer Physical Media as well and I will pay extra to get it. I’m no Prepper, but I still feel like the internet could go away at anytime. Now, That I am prepared for.

Larry Darrell

It's certainly hard to come by. I ended up paying 42usd for a region-free blu-ray (despite recently getting it on iTunes, I prefer physical), but a chunk of that was shipping. Couldn't find on Prime where I live.

AdrianF

Cassie, I Overnighted a Blu-Ray copy of Adventures in Babysitting to your PO Box, and it should arrive by 6 PM tomorrow, Saturday. Didn’t know if you were going to try and watch the film this weekend or not. I emailed the tracking number to you. EDIT: PACKAGE DELIVERED I realized LATE how limited the best viewing options are. Disney’s version is Edited and the Old DVD is not anamorphic formatted, meaning it is meant for an old 4:3 TV and it would have black bars all the way around it. So if you want it, hopefully it will be there in time. If you don’t need it, please gift it to someone. Thank You. I’m very much Looking Forward to this.

Larry Darrell

I think ANDOR (2022) (Nominee 2023 Emmy® Award for Outstanding Drama Series) (prequel to Rogue One) is best Star Wars series, even better than The Mandalorian that I very much liked. From Disney website: The “Andor” series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion... It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

Clay F

I know I'm on the wrong country, but was really hoping for It tonight.

AdrianF

Both True Romance and Drive would be great

AdrianF

I'll never stop pushing for Dark City, but for Tender November I'll throw my weight behind these suggestions... True Romance (1993) - This movie gets suggested a lot, and for good reason. There are SO many great actors in this movie. Drive (2011) - If you like the romantic movies, this is a must-watch. Just be ready for some violence too. Strange Days (1995) - This movie is a very interesting 90's time capsule. It also serves as a great New Year's Eve movie, if you need something like that. This might be my favorite movie by a female director (Kathryn Bigelow). And for something with a little less violence in it... Safe Passage (1994) - Susan Sarandon plays a mother of seven sons. Her husband is played by Sam Shepard, who played Chuck Yeager in The Right Stuff. It's been a LONG time since I saw this movie. Family dramas have never really been my thing, and I must have been around ten years old when I saw this, but even at that age I could still appreciate it for how good it is.

Sundiver

So, Titanic finally has a 4K release coming. I hope you do a rewatch - you must have seen it! While not the best film released in my lifetime, it is by a long way my favourite. I got genuine goosebumps reading the stuff that's included with the collector's edition. You know it makes sense aka please :D

AdrianF

We Bought A Zoo!!!

Randolph Tirazona

Did Cassie ever spot that the bad guy in the original Magnificent Seven, who she kind of spotted was also in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is Eli Wallach who plays Arthur in The Holiday, which is one of her favourite Christmas movies??

when I saw Open Range at the movie theater, it was empty, why? because Freddy vs Jason opened the same weekend. now all these years later which is the better movie? I know the reactors need views to stay popular, however I also see a disservice, just once in a while put on a good movie that's not getting the votes, like Cinderella man, not a voted in movie but Cassie actually said that was the best movie she ever watched on her channel. also an old classic like the best years of our lives. and the last movie I will right in, It could happen to you, which the sisters loved. PiB strayed a bit and watched good movies, not popular movies and they survived

zynjams

I recently watched your reaction to Sabrina!! Such a good movie and the original is very good also. Another romantic feel good movie you might try is Bell Book and Candle with Kim Novak and James Stewart. Very good movie!

CJ Clontz

Cassie mentioned in her live yesterday that it would come out in November.

Just Plain Bob

Still waiting on your YT edition of The Bridge On The River Kwai

Jay E Bjorklund

Yeah, the movie emphasizes Sera's life as an abused and exploited prostitute. The 3 college students raping her in the hotel room is horrible. What I found tender about the movie is the acceptance (both ways) between Sera and Ben. Though back in day, I used the movie to help stop (not accept) my excessive drinking.

Clay F

Because nothing says tenderness like gang rape.

Carol_White

For tender November: LOST IN TRANSLATION (2003). Bill Murray and 17-year old Scarlett Johansson (her character is about age 22). -Nominated for 4 Oscars including Best Picture, Best Actor (Bill Murray), and Best Director (Sofia Coppola). Me and my teenage son stayed in that Tokyo hotel the movie takes place. We sat at the hotel bar where the Bill Murray character and the Scarlett Johansson character sat together. LEAVING LAS VEGAS (1995). Nominated for 4 Oscars including: -Best Actor (Nicolas Cage) -Best Actress (Elisabeth Shue). CRAZY HEART (2009). Jeff Bridges won Best Actor Oscar. -Maggie Gyllenhaal nominated for Best Actress Oscar. -Colin Farrell was good. -This is the only movie I watched 3 times in the theater. A SINGLE MAN (2009). Colin Firth (nominated Best Actor Oscar), Julianne Moore, Nicholas Hoult, Matthew Goode. -A period piece in 1962.

Clay F

Cassie, you can definitely watch horror movies throughout the year, not only in October. You wouldn’t wait until Valentine’s Day to watch romantic comedies, would you?

Just Plain Bob

Cassie, So for Halloween, On Max, There is a documentary on there called The Devil's Road. The True Story Of Ed And Lorraine Warren. I met Lorraine in 2003, and toured there occult museum. She was a story teller. This is a good documentary to watch for Halloween.

Zachary K.

I’d like to make a suggestion for next year’s “scary but not too scary” season. Incorporate a smattering of short horror films into the reactions. For instance, Cassie could react to the original “Lights Out” short film before watching “Insidious” or something similar. There are quite a few effective short film chillers available for free on YouTube that run 7 minutes or less. Anyway, just a thought. Cassie’s doing an absolutely superb job this Halloween season IMO.

Just Plain Bob

Cassie, "Six Days, Seven Nights" is on max again. RomCom, Harrison Ford, lots of fun. Shocked you haven't already seen it. Would be a great palette cleanser after Popcorn in Dread month. Just sayin... :D

David Collins

For the next animal week how about Fly Away home (1996) with Jeff Daniels and a young Anna Paquin

Gene Crossin

What about Free Willie?!? In Seattle we learned of the Killer Whale Pods that live in the Puget Sound - J Pod, K Pod, etc. The news cannels would also show things about the different pods. Didn't realize until recently that in the mid 60's they where captured and shipped to zoo's/aquariums all over :(. My Cousin wrote an article in yesmagazine.org "Calling Tokitae Home"

Randolph Tirazona

Completely off subject. But it dawned on me that during "Animal Week", the perfect film to watch is a film called "Hatari!". It stars John Wayne, and is about capturing animals in Africa for zoos in the US. It's fun, action packed, Romantic, and funny. Everything you need for a good time.

Jay E Bjorklund

I'm Always Chasing Rainbows lyrics...I'm always chasing rainbows Watching clouds drifting by My schemes are just like all my dreams Ending in the sky Some fellows look and find the sunshine I always look and find the rain Some fellows make a winning sometimes I never even make a gain, believe me I'm always chasing rainbows Waiting to find a little bluebird in vain.

John Liebling

Yeah, I did. They are all great movies.

Eddie Perkins

After watching your reaction to Zombieland you absolutely have to try Anna and The Apocalypse (2017) it's zombie Christmas musical. I am not joking this flew under a lot of radars because it was made in Britain. But it was so much fun with all it's own music like "Hollywood Ending", "I Will Believe" and "Christmas Means Nothing Without You"

Zachary K.

Thanks. You may have missed that I said she "already reacted to 2, 3, and 5"

Clay F

She did Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, and We Were Soldiers.

Eddie Perkins

I like the way the collections tab is being organized. You react to a lot of epic movies (including epic war movies). I guess that is one reason I became a patron. I vaguely remember the Fall of Saigon in 1975 (I was age 11), and knew several Vietnam war veterans (they never talked about their experience). As a young adult, I watched so much Vietnam war stuff that I eventually tired of it, though have never tired of the five movies listed below. These five "best" Vietnam war movies, my personal ranking (not objective but my personal taste) in order (you've already reacted to 2, 3, and 5): [1] Apocalypse Now (1979) - absolutely stunning [2] Platoon (1986) - I saw this when released in the theater while I was in college in 1986. [3] Full Metal Jacket (1987) - this one can be tough to watch, but ... [4] The Deer Hunter (1978) - wow, just wow. [5] We Were Soldiers (2002)

Clay F

not too early to make a Christmas request. 8 bit Christmas is a modern twist to a Christmas Story. about a dad (Neil Patrick Harris) is telling a story to his teen age daughter what Christmas was like when he was a kid in the 1980s

zynjams

Hi Cassie. I subscribed a few days ago and wanted to say how much I enjoy your channel. I saw your reaction to United 93 and want to make a suggestion. YouTube 911 Gander. It’s about international flights that were redirected when US air space was closed. Broadway play was made of the story. It’s a 60 minute 20 minute clip.

It’s funny, I now look at all movies differently now. Some have the Directors cut, extended version, unrated version and now the PiB version.

Daniel W

2nded.

Larry Darrell

Hands down, best animal movie for this channel “Operation Dumbo Drop”

Daniel W

Silver Bullet has Megan Follows from the original Anne Of Green Gables in it.

Zachary K.

So I used to love horror movies. Part of me still does. With Scream, I am way too involved in the franchise to quit. Even though it's based on a true story. All the major franchises. The first one is the best and the rest are kind of trash. With the exception of Halloween which reinvented itself with it's major star. My friends and I have seen well over 700+ horror movies. I am here to say most are trash. However occasionally you find a really scary one that make you sleep with your crucifix or holding your significant other or your dog. Or ones that play on your humanity. There around 120 or so horror movies that go from the exceptional to the really good . The rest are complete garbage. With a unoriginal ideas. Cassie has watched nothing but the exceptional so far.

Zachary K.

Stephen King's Silver Bullet (1985) is an excellent movie for Halloween month. I hope October is full of Horror movies, and Horror is my favorite movie genre.

Eddie Perkins

Yes, yes, yes

Larry Darrell

Idk if you ever seen Little Monsters with Ben and Fred Savage but it's a fun starter Halloween movie

Philip G.

I know you love courtroom dramas. Judgement At Nuremburg is one of the best. Great cast. Great screenplay. All around great acting.

Jay E Bjorklund

I know what the rule is but I still think she can handle it due to the fact that it’s not visual. The Omen is a masterpiece, it’s a shame if we put her off it.

Shehab Dawoud

"Visually scary" isn't the rule, but we can't really go into it without spoiling the whole plot.

Mike Lemon

@Mike I’d say that The Omen, compared to The Exorcist, has no visually scary element, which should make it “tame” enough for her.

Shehab Dawoud

@Barry I wouldn’t even say that Fright Night is pushing it. It’s really fun and like I said, she’d really like the High School vibe. I still haven’t seen The Blob for some reason.

Shehab Dawoud

The Omen breaks one, maybe two depending on how you look at it, of her rules. I doubt it will ever be watched. And Blair Witch is just bad.

Mike Lemon

If she wants to push herself this year she should watch "Fright Night" and "The Blob" 1988 (one of the best remakes ever!). A softball Carly Pick would be "Dracula: Dead and Loving it".

Barry Justice

You probably already have a program set, but with everyone's favorite month coming up, I thought I'd also give some suggestions and hopefully, more than one will get watched. All of them are very manageable IMO. Night of The Living Dead (1968): Zombies. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974): Truly iconic. The Omen (1976): A classic that for some reason doesn't get as much love as others. Not spoiling anything though, want it to be completely blind. Carrie (1976): Based on one of Stephen King's best works. That's all I'll say about that. The Fog (1980): Ghost Pirates. Directed by John Carpenter who did Halloween. Features Jamie Lee Curtis AND her mother Janet Leigh, which is so cool. Friday The 13th (1980): To complete 'The Big 3' of Halloween, Friday The 13th, and A Nightmare On Elm Street. Halloween 2 (1981): We need Michael Myers back, two years without him is too much! If you ignore all the other sequels, this one actually gives some closure. Fright Night (1985): Don't let the name put you off, I think you'd really like it. It has that 80s High School vibe that Christine also had. The Fly (1987): A little bit of body horror never hurt anyone. Scream (1996): The movie that single-handedly revived the horror genre when it looked like it was dead. The Blair Witch Project (1999): The one that made found footage films relevant. The Mist (2007): Another Stephen King adaptation. People know why I'm suggesting this. The Witch (2015): Folk horror directed by the brilliant Robert Eggers who has a very clear style. Anya Taylor-Joy's breakout role. The Lighthouse (2019): Also directed by Robert Eggers. Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe as two lighthouse keepers on a rock out in the middle of nowhere. What could go wrong?!

Shehab Dawoud

She’s responded to some of my messages not all of them. She has a huge channel with 333,000 subs. You can’t expect her to be able to answer everyone individually. Be patient. She has a life and 3 kids. Everybody is busy these days.

brooke atkins

So does she ever talk to anyone or do we have to be here several years before we get a hello out of her? I've never had her answer me

JPDotCom23

Also type in 911 boat evacuation

Fun fast fact: Sharon Tate was a huge dog lover. Even when walking the street in Los Angeles or Italy where she lived. She had to pet every dog. She would kiss every dog she saw. She had two Yorkies. Her first was Prudence. Who Roman Polanski hit with his car but never had the guts to tell her. The second was Sappy who they named after Dr. Sapirstien from Rosemary's Baby. Sappy actually survived the Manson Murders. Sharon sisters Debra and Patty took Sappy in.

Is there a place/website where we can request movie reactions? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Barry Justice

Olavity reacted to 'True Romance' Monday per my own patreon request and she loved it she's so cute❤the kind of movie I like the most, great cast, music, writing by Quinton Tarantino and directed by Tony Scott..I love the entire cast!!

Celeste McAllister

There's even a great love story in there too!

Greggory Shaw

I've seen the first two I think, I'm not sure how man of them Carly has seen. I'll have to ask her!

Cassie

Truly a stunning movie.

Clay F

i was wondering Cassie when are ya'll going to start watching the Pirates of the Carribean series. you and Carly mentioned it but you haven't started it. You didn't say for sure, but you did say you would like to.

Jimmy Reyes

TrueRomance hit theaters 30 years ago today on September 10th, 1993 One of the best, and the cast, add to the next poll, press like !!! #ChristianSlater #PatriciaArquette #QuentinTarantino #DennisHopper #ValKilmer #GaryOldman #BradPitt #ChristopherWalken #JamesGandolfini #SaulRubinek #SamuelLJackson #BronsonPinchot #MichaelRapaport #90sMovies

Greggory Shaw

The Bourne Identity (2002) (lead is young Matt Damon) = Action + Suspense + Love Story + Europe Awesome Final Scene (think final scene in Last Samurai and Shawshank Redemption). -Nominee Saturn Award for Best Action/Adventure/Thriller Film. -Won awards in [1] sound editing, [2] fight choreography, [3] best work w/vehicle.

Clay F

Apocalypse Now (1979) LAURENCE FISHBURN- a skinny teenager (was in The Matrix) DENNIS HOPPER- an American photojournalist (was Howard Payne in Speed) SCOTT GLENN - a lieutenant who states in letter to his wife: "Sell the house. Sell the car. Sell the kids. Find someone else. Forget it. I'm never coming back. Forget it." (was commander of USS Dallas in The Hunt for Red October)

Clay F

I would love to see your reaction to the ORIGINAL Planet of the Apes. No CGI.

Robert Nelson

What Lies Beneath is a great choice. Suspense over horror. Other great choices - Stir of Echoes (Kevin Bacon), Flatliners (the original with Keifer Sutherland and Julia Roberts). Genuine Spookiness. Or to go on the lighter comedic side, Tucker & Dale vs Evil. All great October choices.

D. T. Nelson

I don't think she should ever watch The Grudge either. I mean 2004 with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Bill Pullman; the new one is a steaming pile of trash. I generally don't experience any actual horror from horror movies (The Exorcist included) but The Grudge (and to a lesser extent The Ring) literally unsettled me like no other.

David Collins

She has literally said a million times she’s never going to watch that movie. Let’s give it up people.

brooke atkins

I think the Exorcist is maybe the ONE movie Cassie should never watch.

Barry Justice

Absolutely great movie one Michelle Pfeiffer Harrison Ford. One of my all time favorites. With the new Exorcist coming out. Now might be the time to watch the old one.

Zachary K.

Cassie hope you will watch what lies beneath for October. Don’t listen to the people who tried to spoil it for you. It’s a great movie. Hope you will consider it.

brooke atkins

I think Cassie would enjoy “Without Limits”, the true story of Steve Prefontaine, a medium and long distance runner that set numerous records running track in college and helped popularize running as a form of exercise back in the 1970s. It’s a great story that’s really well told. Also, World’s Fastest Indian!

Just Plain Bob

Looks like they moved the tags under the collections tab. That may not be new, but its the first I'm aware of it.

Lemurian Jones

I can't wait for the Abyss reaction I have the old special edition DVD. And they have talked about releasing it on blu ray since 2017. Some other reactors have already done it. Like TBR Schmitt, Just summ reactions.

Hiraoka Toru

I would wait on The Abyss until it gets a proper HD release which *should* be soon, but we've been hearing that for a while. At the moment the choice is basically an old DVD or a torrent site.

Odd Thomas

Officer and a Gentleman Richard Gere great movie. McClintok! John Wayne RomCom western. And Tears of the Sun, Bruce Willis rescue movie.

Jabowky

I saw you mentioned the abyss is coming. I can’t wait. Need to watch …

Jabowky

Cassie would LOVE Awakenings!

Paweł Kościuszko

I'm surprised she hasn't seen this one yet. I agree wholeheartedly that they would love this one.

Damon

In honor of the greatest actor of all time, Robert De Niro, turning 80 today, I'd like to suggest some of his great films that still haven't been watched on the channel. It's been quite a while since we've seen him, and in general, we just don't see him enough here. I'm counting 4 movies so far in almost 3 years... Some of my favorites: The King of Comedy Once Upon A Time In America Angel Heart Midnight Run Awakenings Cape Fear A Bronx Tale Casino Haven't suggested Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, which are among my favorites, because their enjoyment value is just not there, regardless of their greatness as works of art. The Deer Hunter I expect to show up soon as part of WMW.

Shehab Dawoud

Hey there! Just wanted to shout out Kate & Leopold, as I see you have it in your collection. It's a classic rom com but with Hugh Jackman and Meg Ryan and maybe even some time travel - if you are every in the rom com mood, you and your sister would have a great time with this one

Hannah Mather

Gregory Peck in the Big Country - that film came out only 5 years after Roman Holiday. A film you enjoyed a lot.

John Liebling

Well I think it's safe to assume Cassie and Carly have become social media influencers.

Zachary K.

I'd add Zodiac to this list. Both Mississippi Burning and Zodiac are fairly historically accurate.

KauaiKeith

Technically the 1960's ended on December 31, 1969 but if you ask most people who experienced the 60's they will tell you the 60's ended on August 9, 1969 the 1st day of the Manson Murders in honor of that day I think we should do a based on true events 1960's poll movies like Ali (2001) Mississippi Burning (1988) Malcom X (1992) Judas and the Black Messiah (2021) The Doors (1991) Trial Of The Chicago Seven (2020) Detroit (2017) or Bobby (2006)

Zachary K.

Since you’ve liked previous John Grisham adaptations (The Firm and A Time To Kill), might I suggest The Client and The Rainmaker.

Brian Lowery

I second Broadchurch, brilliant seasons that pull on your heart strings with some incredible acting from a famous british cast

Liam Maguire

I would presume that being a reviewer brings you to new movies you've never seen for what ever reason, and gives you a greater respect for all different kinds of movies, actors, directors, etc. Here's one I'd like to recommend: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The newest Star Trek series. It is very reminiscent of "Star Trek" the Original Series and this is how 'Star Trek' should be! This series is in my humble opinion is Thee Greatest Star Trek series ever made so far.

Randolph Tirazona

Some TV show suggestions. I know you like thrillers and mysteries. Longmire, a modern cowboy detective show (five seasons on Netflix). Reacher, about a drifter former military police detective that solves crimes (one 8-episode season on Prime). Broadchurch, a British detective series about a murder in a small seaside town. Three 8-episode seasons on Prime.

Brian Lowery

So I want to congratulate the two of you. You two made it farther than my friend ever did and he has worked as a background actor on 100 different TV shows, and several movies. He is a member of the SAG union so now he is on strike I guess. You met Tom Cruise, which was an achievement. You got me to see the movie. So hats off to both of you. Hopefully, this is the first of many movies. I hope Ben is still on the mend. You scared a lot of us last week with that, I know I felt my heart drop.

Zachary K.

Its too late to do anything about it now. Patreon is just a poorly designed system and they seem to never release any improvements to the user experience. Your best hope for overcoming this issue is to look at what Cassie has written above, in the original post, and see where it mentions the Reaction Library.

Thoko

Hey Popcorn team, I just wanted to suggest that maybe the content is being over tagged. The tag list now has over 1,200 tags and it's nearly impossible to use it. If there was a way to group them it'd be helpful to have this level of detail in the tagging but as it stands it makes the feature almost useless when trying to find something. It's option overload in my opinion. Just a thought.

Myles Away

Cassie, don’t forget to finish the story with John Wick Chapter 4, which currently is on streaming. And you and Carly need to continue with Creed 3! That one is streaming on Prime now.

Joe M

Yes, agree that there are some great old school classics out there. Cassie has reacted to Casablanca and The African Queen, so maybe more to be picked up in time.

RandyCC

Yup, agree that The Freshman is an overlooked film. Entertaining on repeat viewings. Cassie has also seen/reacted to The Birds and Psycho, so almost there with my "prereqs" for High Anxiety too.

RandyCC

The Freshman is an overlooked film with great cast and performances. She has seen Godfather I and II, so that’s cool.

Brian Lowery

I would love to go old school with something like, “The Maltese Falcon”; or “Yojimbo”. I really like those old movies that can capture those wonderful elements of Painful Travail, and Deep Compassion.

Uncle Phoenix

I'd like to propose and introduce a category of film for review/reaction, the "But first..." films. These are films that work best if you first watch something else that is somehow related to or in some way sets up the second film. An example would be the "Spaceballs" parody of Star Wars. I am leaving out prequals/sequels as those are too obvious. With that, here is my short list of "But first" films 1) High Anxiety (1977), a funny Mel Brooks film that is a parody of Hitchcock films. Before watching High Anxiety watch at least Psycho, The Birds, and Vertigo 2) The Freshman (1990), a clever "fish out of water" / caper / comedy starting Matthew Broderick, but watch The Godfather before watching The Freshmen That is all I have -- a short list. Know of any others? Have a better name for this?

RandyCC

The next franchise after James Bond, should be Dirty Harry there are only five in the series. Without getting into horror franchises. Dirty Harry is in the same tradition as Lethal Weapon, Die Hard which she both liked.

Zachary K.

I think you’d get something from watching Hannibal and Red Dragon. Hannibal is the sequel to Silence of the Lambs, and Red Dragon is a prequel. I also think you’d like the series Reacher on Amazon. It’s a detective story with very interesting characters. Here are some other thrilling options: A Perfect Getaway, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. Conspiracy Theory, and Assassins.

Brian Lowery

to follow with Tom Cruise, there is the upcoming Mission Impossible, but if you want to see him in another thriller, watch Jack Reacher. You will love the suspense. there are 2 movies, i think you would love these 2 films. they are really good.

Jimmy Reyes

I've seen the trailer, I've read the leaks. I don't think I'd watch this movie if Cassie came and watched it with me in person! It looks that bad!

Hondo the Cat

"The Searchers" ???

Bill Maurer

Ok...just saw the preview for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and all I could think was " I cannot wait for Cassie to see this". I will not watch this movie unless I am watching it on PIB.

Anthony Perez

A good non-Rocky Sylvester Stallone movie: Copland

Steve Barrett

Cassie, If Interested in Oscars nominations. You should try Malcolm X (1992) Denzel Washington was excellent as Malcolm X.

Zachary K.

Hello Cassie, If you're interested in watching an excellent Tom Hanks movie based on a true story, you should watch the movie sully". I think you'd really enjoy it!

James Lewis

If she needs an uplifting one, I´ll suggest the usual one.......

Björn Karlsson

Or pair heavier movies with lighter ones. Someone up above suggested Chinatown. And I suggested it be watched paired with Big Trouble in Little China. They're both set in California china towns (one in LA, one in San Francisco). We can suggest good pairings that are thematic like that. E.g. want to watch a dark Sci-fi movie like Alien? Match it up with Barbarella. A weird horror like Ginger Snaps? Back to back with Paranorman. Etc. Would be really fun to watch paired movies like this.

Hondo the Cat

this week!!

Cassie

Cassie, I’d like to make a suggestion. You often go outside your comfort zone to react to movies and shows. Sometimes those movies clearly leave you feeling somewhat down. My suggestion is this: compile a list of movie recommendations from your viewers of movies they find joyous and uplifting. Then, you could insert one of those into your viewing schedule shortly after reacting to something that you find disturbing or downbeat. Along those lines, I’d like to recommend “World’s Fastest Indian”, starring Anthony Hopkins. It’s a wonderful, feel good film. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=02Yy1vihIKs

Just Plain Bob

when does The Spy Who Loved Me come to patrion?

Christian Valdersnes

"The Searchers"

Bill Maurer

Cassie, If looking for a Easter movie you should check out Risen (2016) with Joseph Fiennes.

Zachary K.

Temple Grandin is a really fantastic movie (true story) about a woman with autism whose innovations revolutionized the humane handling of livestock on cattle ranches and in slaughterhouses. Highly recommended!

Jen Barnes

Cassie, April is Autism Awareness Month. I'm on the Autism Spectrum and it is my hope/my request that you react to Rain Man or anything relevant/appropriate to Autism during the month of April. Or that you at talk about, acknowledge, or raise awareness in the realm Autism or Mental Health in some way. I believe it would be a good, cool, and helpful thing to do for many people. I feel someone who has a channel like this can do something good for this cause. And since you're an understanding and compassionate person, you'd be a great person to do this. You've expressed interest in watching Rain Man anyway and it is a wonderful film. It would mean a lot to me personally. Take care.

Aaron Hawkins

I’d like to ask for Midnight Run, if it’s not been asked for before. If it has then I’d like to vote for it somewhere ;)

Mango

I couldn't post in the Mandalorian Reaction so I'll post here. Do you do reactions to short videos? I'm assuming so since you watched "Obi-Wan has PTSD" on YouTube. There's a hilarious YouTube music video by Bad Lip Reading (went absolutely viral about 6 years ago, currently has 141 million views) where Yoda is in Degobah with Luke singing this completely ridiculous song to him, and it's catchier than it has any right to be. If you haven't seen it, that might be a good one to react to, it's only four minutes long. Just be careful, the song will be stuck in your head for days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9t-slLl30E

Michael Johnson

I'll second Chinatown - excellent movie. BUT so that Cassie isn't too traumatised, it needs to be back to back with Big Trouble in Little China, which I believe she hasn't seen. They're both set in or around California chinatowns. One in LA, one in San Francisco. Both movies are well-loved classics. First Chinatown, then Big Trouble to help her recover!

Hondo the Cat

Cassie, So I think you should highly consider Chinatown (1974) the ending and the last lines are now classics. Ben Affleck is making a movie called The Big Goodbye based on the making of that movie.

Zachary K.

I would love to see reactions to "Operation Mincemeat" and "The Imitation Game." Both are WW2 films, the first dealing with the true story of the British efforts to mislead Germany regarding the invasion of the European continent and the second dealing with the efforts to crack the infamous German Enigma machine. Both are superb and "Operation Mincemeat" includes a young man by the name of Ian Fleming, who would go on to write a series of adventure novels with a protagonist named James Bond.

Just Plain Bob

Geez we are so quick to worry or hate. Watch “fantastic fungi” on Netflix; it will give you an appreciation of how amazing and essential fungi is.

Steve Barrett

Cassie, so after watching your full reaction to The Rock a movie I saw in the theater when I was in highschool. Die Hard With A Vengeance, is exactly like the Rock non-stop action from start to finish it was directed by the same guy who did the first Die Hard. Or you could check out The Dirty Harry Series which there are five of them.

Zachary K.

So I got back from John Wick chapter 4... at first I didn't believe the hype, but now?? Wew.. it might be up there with the greatest action movies ever made. The fact that it is extremely successful at the box office too. Ppl seem to really love it. Cassie...you aren't ready lol

DustinChecksIn

Cocaine Bear! Gotta react to Cocaine Bear, it’s a hoot! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DuWEEKeJLMI

Just Plain Bob

Love Cronos and Let The Right One In. No need for Let Me In to exist; they got it right with the original. Kinda like The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - the original film is perfect for what it is and there was no need for a remake.

Just Plain Bob

You know Cassie, there are horror movies, that don't act like horror movies. Like the first couple that come to mind are is Let Me In (2010) (American Version) Let The Right One In (2008) ( Swedish Version) The other one is a vampire movie called Cronos (1992) about a grandfather and his granddaughter. It doesn't have to be absolutely terrifying like the Shining or The Exorcist to be good.

Zachary K.

Censorship. It's a slippery slope. It's in the eye of the beholder. What's offensive and what's not?

Rick Williams

I'm not sure what happened Jeff! Please repost it!

Cassie

Well dang, it seems my goodbye post was deleted. Not sure why. I thought I was being nice and respectful… I guess that’s the internet for ya!

Jeff Milcheck

Or excellent 1995 documentary, ANNE FRANK REMEMBERED.

Kent Theaker

That is the danger of constantly playing to the majority and one of the big reason some here push for variety (but are almost always out voted).

Mike Lemon

Congrats on 300,000 Cassie. I just have to say my girlfriend and I love your reactions. We love your reaction when a dog dies in a movie. We think you should stay away from horror movies and stick to classics. Dirty Dozen is a great war movie. Diary of Anne Frank or Anne Frank the whole story. Manchester By The Sea, Die Hard With A Vengeance.

Zachary K.

FYI, that movie is ranked 300-ish. Request it and it will climb and my offer remains 🙂🙂 After that it will be ranked like 250-ish.. You were little bit curious about Show me love. It's available for streaming now 🥰🥰😃😃 https://www.justwatch.com/us/movie/show-me-love

Björn Karlsson

SEABISCUIT!!! I want to watch it again and I want you (and Carly) to watch it with me!

Rosanne Stewart

Please consider reacting to 2 movies that are at COMPLETE opposite ends of the spectrum., both in subject matter and release date. "To Sir, With Love" (1967), and M3GAN (2023).

Gary David Holbrook

If you haven't seen it, I think you would enjoy Ozark.

Robert Nelson

also glory road is a good one

phillip tarkington

Good choice

Doug Cook

I think you might enjoy an odd couple type of comedy about 2 expresidents being forced by circumstances to work together." My Fellow Americans" stars Jack Lemon and James Garner.

There was a good hockey movie back in the 80's it had Patrick swazie and Rob Lowe in it I can't remember the the name of it though.

Agreed. Let's have a hockey movie! 😄😉 Just kidding .

Canadianant

Also, it would be nice to break out of the American football/box/baseball triangle of sports movies.

Gábor Árki

Cassie, with March madness approaching ( college basketball tour.) I would like to see you react to Hossiers. It is loosely based on a true story Indiana high school basketball. Gene Hackman ( unforgiven, The replacements) stars in it. A great show.

I would love to see your reaction to Lawrence of Arabia. One of the greatest films of all time.

May I suggest "A Walk in the Clouds" . It is a guilty pleasure of mine would very much for you to watch and react to it.

C. Steven Y.

i liked him in the movie called Let it Ride. a comedy about horse racing

zynjams

The sad news just came that Robbie Coltrane, the character who played Hagrid in the Harry Potter films, passed away today at the age of 72.

Daniel Fuchs

Arsenic and Old Lace is a classic. I think both you and Carly would love it.

Mark James

Yes to both of these! Fabulous films and so funny! I watch them with my mom every year!

China Andronicus

Great movie !! Also Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein

Bill Maurer

I mentioned this a while ago but I think it bears a repeat: I'm not sure if you mind subtitles or not but there's a great film from India out now called RRR that I think you'd enjoy based upon your reactions to other films that are thematically similar. The closest 'kinda like' films that I could cite would be 300, BRAVEHEART, BEN-HUR, and THE AVENGERS. Add in some romantic comedy elements, throw in some buddy movie features, and sprinkle in a couple of musical numbers and you've got the idea. If a film could win an award for 'Most Movie', this would easily take the prize. It's on Netflix now in Hindi.

Matt Rose

At Christmas is this movie very popular in Sweden 🎅🎅 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Bed_with_Santa Nothing for Cassie thou 😆😆 Bonus: Alexandra Dahlström from Show me love is this movie too 😄

Björn Karlsson

Fire it up! Fire it up!

Matt Rose

Arsenic and Old Lace. Think of it like “It’s a Wonderful Life” for Halloween. Same director Frank Capra and starring Cary Grant. And you have to make your sister watch it with you. You’ll both love it.

Mike1972

That is a great suggestion!

Jason Fulbright

The Crow. Especially on Devil's Night

Paul Ark

Cassy...please...watch Highlander. You will love it.

Carlos Stevens

hahaha no Ivanhoe pls 😆😆

Björn Karlsson

To make you Swedes happy, shouldn't we request that she watch IVANHOE at Christmas? :)

Matt Rose

REAL GENIUS needs on this poll. Best usage of 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World' for sure.

Matt Rose

Request "Show me love" please. You don't have to, but you will make a swedish dude happy. And in the long run, you will make Cassie happy as well. 😇😇

Björn Karlsson

Melinda, that is a great one.

Jason Fulbright

Fast Times at Ridgemont High could go on that poll!

Melinda

I'm not sure where to bring this up but there is a true tragedy we need to help Cassie to rectify. According to the popcorn database she has seen the 2011 remake of Footloose but not the 1984 OG. I know Cassie just did a great classics poll but I'm lobbying for an "It came from the 80's" with movies that have great soundtracks.

Jason Fulbright

How is it that you've never watched HIGHLANDER? I think you'd dig that one.

Matt Rose

For a good October movie, I would recommend Reign of Fire. It's sufficiently creepy/scary but not so much so that Cassie wouldn't be able to enjoy it. Also has a great cast with Christian Bale, Mathew McConaughey and Gerard Butler.

David Collins

Maybe Lost Boys for scary, but not too scary

Melinda

Absolutely matches the "Scary but not too scary" movie genre.

I think Little Monsters (1989) deserves a watch.

Elwood

ED WOOD is fantastic and Martin Landau rightly deserved his Oscar win.

Matt Rose

No one has to watch Smokey and the Bandit.

Richard Maurer

OK I thought of a couple more: Silver Bullet-Stephen King story. Some scares but tempered by the clever story of the brother and sister main characters and their Uncle with a dented halo. This is one we show at the kid's party every year. Not really any worse than the old Lon Cheney Wolfman films and everyone always loves it. Ed Wood-Not scary at all. Johnny Depp in a biopic about a real life wannabe director making low budget Horror films. Great dark humor and again a very interesting and clever story involving the title character and his involvement with Bela Lugosi (Dracula), the TV personality from the 50s known as Vampira, and a host of other quirky real life characters. VERY entertaining. Won an Oscar for Martin Landau who portrayed Lugosi.

BRT

Maybe She’ll watch it just to have a piece of that Good ole American Life; For the Money, for the Glory, and for the Fun... but, mostly for the Money.

Larry Darrell

I get it. You want her to react to Smokey and the Bandit. But I doubt that she is contractually obligated to do so.

Mingo Wayama

You have to watch Smokey and the Bandit.
