Star Wars Episode VII - Full Reaction

Comments

This was a first watch for me. Good movie. Entertaining. My favorite characters are Rey and Finn. I like having a female hero. Abrams and Disney did a good job. Enjoyed your reaction. For my personal tastes, I rank the movie up there with Rogue One after the original trilogy (IV, V, VI) and above the prequels. I watched IV in the theater in 1977 at age 13, and glad that good SW movies are being cranked out in recent years. Andor and The Mandalorian are my two favorite SW series.

Clay F

Pretty cool thing about this movie is Lawrence Kasdan co-wrote this, with JJ Abrams. Kasdan previously wrote 'Empire Strikes Back' for Lucas.

JPDotCom23

As you've said with "The Force Awakens: "Soo many didn't like this and I can't see why!" So "The Godfather Part 3" (1990)?!? Any version! It was "nominated for seven Academy Awards" to get nominated means it's at least good! But when you go up against "Dances with Wolves" (12 nominations and won 7 of them) ya gonna loose! The consensus at the time was that it was a great movie, not as good as the others but it 'brought some closure.' I wish they would have continued for Part 4!!!

Randolph Tirazona

There's no "Force Awakens" download here. It's "Starman". Please fix? Thank you!

Philip Alan

I feel like she ment in the fact that she has a little crush on him, according to her smile, and how she kept talking about him. Me too girl!!

Robingrlwonder

Love this movie, and remember don't let people tell you how to feel about a movie, always decide for yourself! And just have fun.

Robingrlwonder

Where's the download? This one is for Starman.

London Davis

The only real mistake of this movie was Leia not hugging Chewie at the end. Other then that, it was a perfectly good Star Wars movie. Still enjoying watching it. Rey's introduction at the start of the movie was pitch perfect. You knew exactly who she was, what she stands for and what she's meant to be without her saying pretty much anything.

Dio

OT>PT>Crap>Spin Offs>ST

Doug Fisher

Was it really worse than Episode 2 tho?

granny_goodness

Episode VII wasn't a bad Star Wars movie. A bit of a rehash but I get why they wanted a bit of a nostalgia hit to kick things off. The next two are god awful though with VIII being the worst Star Wars movie I have ever seen! Don't get me wrong, I hope you like them. It's an amazing universe and I would love to be able to enjoy the new ones. I just can't.

Martin Skouboe

Watched all the originals the day they were released in the theaters and they were awesome at the time of release and of course we had the critics who thought it was all just space fictitious jumbo jumbo except they all agreed that the effects back in the day were excellent. I love the entire series, they all moved me to chills, tears and full emotional swings that i never really enjoyed with the first movies till i was much older and had kids of my own and introduced them to the movies. Looking forward to watching the remaining movies with you as they all have epic moments, effects and fulfill the story in a very good way. So happy you liked this so much.

Richard Shepard

Hi guys! I've been a Star Wars fan since forever. I had the privilege of seeing the debut of each of them on the “Big Screen”! I have all the movies... and I've lost count... the number of times I've watched them... whenever I want to relax on the couch! I just hope they don't stop here!! Do many more!! From the first... it was a breath of fresh air, something new, innovative, giving wings to our imagination!... (whoever saw the first... the second... etc... saw the evolution of special effects – before remaster time – you know what I mean) Before this one? Flash Gordon!? Metropolis? Space 1999? 2001 Space Odyssey? (which, according to the reasoning of many, shouldn't have continued with 2010... and that's why they abandoned 2061 and 3001!! Fans!?). Jules Verne's Voyage to the Moon? And few more... From here came great actors and actresses, some already awarded. But it seems that "The fans" only have one in mind: Mark Hammil (the only one who criticized the new trilogy... for having lost the spotlight... is only known for having made this series!?) Comics and Cartoons have contributed to the “Shaping the Mind” of many... and depicting in a “depressing” way the evolution of the films, the series! Open mind!! These are ENTERTAINMENT movies, not “BASED ON TRUE FACTS”!! Sorry, for my English All the best 😉

Paulo Jorge Nóbrega Freitas

Wait until she has some time to think about it. It will not go from like to love... it will go from like to meh. As it did with so many people.

Doug Fisher

Normally I agree with most of your takes Tara (not that it is a requirement), but I am not so sure on this one. Rey is a strong, bad ass woman?! A Mary Sue doesn't make you strong or bad ass, in fact it makes you weak and limited. There is no growth or challenge for Rey and definitely not someone I would want a little girl to emulate.

Doug Fisher

So you will have zero problems with a white guy playing Black Panther, Kunta Kinte, or Kismet: Man of Fate?! You do realize the OT had "diversity". God, I hate that term! So let me get this straight, as long as a person of your race is represented you are happy about diversity??!! What about every race then? Shouldn't all races be represented in each film?? Oh wait, that is right, there are not enough characters to do that. Stop being a racist! Stop looking at skin color to determine if you like a character. Morgan Freeman is one of my all time favorite actors... but because I am white does that mean I am not allowed to enjoy his work??!! Grow up! PS FYI... "The Lord of the Rings", the second most published book in history (only behind the Bible), the movies and the books popular the world over... all white characters. So no, the color of a characters skin has ZERO to do with "opening up to a whole new audience", well written characters do.... and I hate to break it to you but the characters in the ST are TERRIBLY written. PPS If you need more proof of this... "Squid Games", very popular... not very "diverse".

Doug Fisher

I agree... but the Chewy thing was not the only thing wrong with this film.

Doug Fisher

I’m glad you loved this movie, I like this new trilogy. As a fan of the originals and with the opportunity I had to fulfil my dream to be an extra in them, they each hold a special place in my heart!

Biggman83

I think this is a perfectly fun movie. In this first of the new trilogy I actually really liked the new characters. But. I'm sorry I won't be watching the next reactions... I absolutely despise The Last Jedi. It's a complete travesty what they did with everything that had been set up here.

Stephen

Yea I agree with the rest of the commenters. Out of the new trilogy this is the best in my opinion and honestly I like the movie! It definitely is the next two movies that spoil the trilogy and generate a lot of the disdain for the newer films.

RobB

Last Jedi was out of his control and I don't think he was supposed to do 9, he was just brought in to clean up.

Mike Lemon

The "Rey is a Mary Sue" people also probably claim to be huge Star Wars fans. But if you do any critical thinking about Rey, it's obvious that pretty much everything can be explained. Granted, the film doesn't make everything explicit, which is a good thing, but Luke being a better X-Wing pilot than every other veteran pilot is completely fine but God forbid a woman who mentions that she's piloted ships, including the Millenium Falcon, not even super well, is a Mary Sue. lul

JayWantsACat

"I like Poe. He reminds me of Luke but, maybe even better" whoa, I am not a huge Star Wars fan so I'm fine with it, but... you should probably be careful lol.

Erik Daniel

Star Killer base sucked in a STAR, the entire thing, then shot planets in another star system, apparently it can fire through hyperspace or something, hits 4 planets that just happen to be in the same star system that Han takes them to and they can see the shots in the sky hitting the planets. That's wrong in soo many way. Good SciFi needs at least a whiff of believability. Even if it's based on false physics you have to build it up and give it a foundation. This is the best of the 3 movies, the others get wilder and wilder, doing things where you're like, WTF how did that happen? Because there's been nothing leading up to that point that could explain it. You want to have a planet killing weapon that shoots through hyperspace and has steerable arcs of fire, give me someone in a lab coat that can explain it, because I can't. You want to suck in the contents of a star in a few hours, the entire star, explain it, because I can't, that shit would take millions of years. A lot of people complain that Rey is too perfect, like there's no character development. She can jump into a ship and she's the best pilot ever. Doesn't know she has Jedi powers but instinctively knows how to force command a storm trooper with the skill of a Jedi master. Oh, apparently a light saber pro as well, besting Kilo Ren the first time having picked up a light saber. Kilo Ren, who studied under Luke Skywalker, killed countless other Jedi, formed his own little possie of Jedi followers called the Knights of Ren, has been doing this stuff for who knows how many years but little ol' Rey could of killed him in the first movie. Oh and the light sabers that cut down trees, cut off arms and legs, cut through metal with apparent ease, somehow only manage to burn Kylo or Finn. Then we go back to, explain it, there's no build up, no foundation on which to expect anything like that.

William

To me I loved the new trilogy, It's definitely fresh a new take on star wars especially with the cast. As a minority I loved seeing the diverse cast which I believe it opened up to a whole new audience for the star wars universe like I felt I was seeing me as Poe. As for Han, Mr. Ford actually wanted Solo to die in the original trilogy but G. Lucas said no to that. I really dislike the phase "only the hardcore fans hate the new trilogy" as for someone like me who read all the books, watched all the shows, and played just about every video game I enjoyed all the movies and everything star wars. I think you have to watch these movies with an opened mind because there are lessons or real world issues in this new trilogy such as failure, depression, clinginess, and arrogance just to name a few. Anyhow, I enjoyed your video and will continue to support your patreon,

Antonio

I'm a original "hardcore" fan with the gray hairs to prove it and I thought Episode 8 was the shot in the arm the series needed, it's just such a shame they backslid on nearly every new element that had potential.

JD Nevesytrof

I pretty much guessed that you would like this movie, Cassie. And it does a good job of introducing Star Wars to a new generation...by basically using the same themes and plot points of the original movie. They provided fan service with the old characters while introducing new ones trying to "pass the torch." But the next 2 movies really dropped the ball for me. They really had no idea how to follow up after Episode VII, IMO. You will get the entire picture of the disdain the hardcore fans have with the the new trilogy after you watch Ep. VIII and IX. It really felt like Disney just needed to churn these out to make more money and milk the franchise.

inpham0us

I don’t agree. Is a good trilogy. ... “sei que vais adorar o episódio IX”

Paulo Jorge Nóbrega Freitas

When this one first came out, it was fairly well-received. Yes, it was a pretty obvious rehash of Episode IV, but there was still a lot of goodwill towards it, because for many of us all that mattered is that it was better than the prequels. The problem is that JJ Abrams has a habit of starting stories he doesn't know how to finish. It's harder for me to watch this one now that I know what a mess JJ made of this trilogy as a whole.

Patrick Egan

Yes! Good stuff!

Stephen Aech

I loved this movie! It had issues but it felt more like a Star Wars movie than the prequels ever did. Plus, it seemed to be setting up something great that was never delivered in the following films. This reaction made me feel the feels I had when I saw it the first time. That’s what I like most about these reaction, I suppose.

Stephen Aech

Wow, I absolutely LOVE this!!

Shaun Ganyo

I enjoyed it for the most part. I always thought it was probably (with the production team they had) the strongest start to the new trilogy.

LMrcs

Absolutely! It's one of my favorite SNL skits ever!

Marty McGee

I gotta say this reaction had some great jump scares! Cassie is adorable.

Joshua James Wagoner

Funny thing is actor who played Supreme Leader Snoke is the same actor who played Gollum. Also you've seen actor Lupita Nyong'o who plays Maz Kanata (alien that said Chewy was her boyfriend) in 12 Years a Slave as Patsey.

Patrick Toscano

The thing that pissed me off about this movie is the disrespect to Chewy. After Han died, and they came back home safe, Chewy just walks by Leia runs and hugs Rey. A girl she barely knows, shouldn’t Chewy be the one that need comforting!?! He just lost his decade old partner. And Leia knew that. But let’s hug newcomer Rey. Blah…… besides that, I actually enjoyed this film. The next two? Yeah, not so much…

Jeff Milcheck

Love the movie. One of my favorite reactions

Chip MC

Thumbs up if you think Cassie should watch SNL's "Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base Edition" after this!

Michael Jung

He didn't want to be part of the originals. He wanted to be killed off in Empire, I think, but it could have been Jedi.

Mike Lemon

Any human being that feels compelled to write 34 paragraphs trying to convince someone not to like a movie is trying to be persuaded to like it. They want to have their mind changed. There’s no logical humanistic reason to try and impose one’s will about a piece of creative work. If you are attacked by someone claiming that a movie is “objectively bad” followed by a demand that you prove them wrong, what they’re actually doing is asking you, subconsciously, to change their mind. They don’t like the movie, but they want to. This is a common psychological occurrence and presents vividly when the subject in question (Star Wars obviously in this case) is something they feel extremely passionate about. Then when they don’t succeed in doing so, start calling that person names or resorting to re-explaining themselves from a point of verbal attack. They are not getting the answers they want, or the positive feelings that you have, so they attempt to rob you of those feelings so that they can feel as though they are being commiserated with. As a Star Wars fan as well as a Psychologist and Psychiatrist, I can promise you this is a simple psychological event that is beyond many people’s control unless they are willing to address it. Most aren’t. The easiest “solution” is for the person being questioned is not to engage. The easiest solution for the person demanding agreement, is to ask yourself why it matters what someone else thinks, and further, if they establish that they don’t agree, why does that make you uncomfortable. Another reason for this is, it’s Star Wars.

Will C

METALLICAAAAAAAA!!!!

My_Cousin_Mose

Hardcore fans (whatever that means) don't like feeling "pandered to", and so there was too much so-called "fan-service" in this film. Call-backs to the first film. If you watch the two together what Abrams did was a re-telling of the original with different characters. Personally, I was bitterly disappointed by what Lucas did with the Prequel trilogy (with the possible exception of Revenge of the Sith...the book was SO much better!), having grown up with the originals. I really enjoyed this film as a bit of a "reset" of the Star Wars franchise and I looked forward to the next one since "Empire" was such an amazing film. Many people say that Episode IX is their least favorite of this trilogy. For me it's Episode VIII by a long shot. Again, these are my opinions only. "Many of the truths we cling to depend greatly upon our point of view" No matter what, thanks for giving these a try Cassie. May the Force be with you!

Sean Novack

I liked Solo , Rogue one and The Force Awakens , however the next episode is unwatchable , the woke themes makes it poorly written, messes with the characters that we all grew up with . the 3rd movie is actually good though

Mike Lipke

I'm with you Yann, I'll pass on 7-8-9, aside from production values, mostly bad story and actors, seen them when they got out, that ended Star Wars for me...

Marc Levesque

Nice reaction Cassie! Personally, I enjoyed the movie. I like it more than the prequels. Mostly because I didn’t like Hayden Christensen as Anakin. I’m sorry to hear you hurt your neck. I hope everything is OK. But that joke about how you have to turn your head like Batman 1989 made me laugh! 😂 I thought your commentary throughout the movie was insightful and entertaining. I look forward to your reactions for the next two movies!

Robert da Spruce

You're completely right Cassie this was a great movie very fun and adventurous and entertaining and that's what movies are all about "entertaining " Yes I was Shocked and Devastated with Hans death but it definitely gave the story substance and Harrison said this would be his last time playing Han soooooo good writing as much as it hurt. I assume you know Carrie Fisher passed away after making this movie and the blonde girl with the buns in her hair behind her in several scenes was her daughter Billie Lourd

Sam R.

Again, I would highly suggest Fanboys. Its just a fun geeky movie and now that you are getting back into Star Wars, Fanboys is a fun time as well as Spaceballs which has a ton of pop culture references from scifi movies that you might pick up on with some of the things you have watched so far.

David RedEagle

Trying not to spoil but here is why I don't like those sequels. I like the characters in this one as well but even though I do like her, Rey has no learning curves in the Force and is able to fight against a fully trained Force user. People feels like this is A New Hope all over again but I did not mind that for that movie as, after the prequels (which sucked) we needed a real Star Wars movie. Where the sequels go wrong it starting in the next one which, in the goal of subversion expectations, is full of non sense and basically does not care about the OG characters. And then in Rise of Skywalker, they tried too much to erase what is done in episode 8 that it is complete mess. So 8 completely tossed the elements of 7 and 9 tossed the elements of 8. So what we have is 3 seperate films different in tones and filled with inconsistencies instead of a trilogy. They havent planned the trilogy ahead, they just went along as it went and man nothing makes sense.

Yann Laliberté

I agree with you on I like this movie too and to me the other two are good too

JarHead0351

When they announced that Harrison Ford would be in EP7, I knew Han was going to die. Ford had been trying to get Lucas to kill off Solo ever since Empire.

James Young

Love the R2 t-shirt, Cassie ;-) I think the first movie of the sequel trilogy is perfectly serviceable and with a good balance of humour. BB8 is adorable. The problem with Star Wars and its fandom (and I include myself) in particular is that because Empire was so good, we’ve always been chasing that “Godfather Part II” effect for every follow-up. Rogue One came close to this. Ultimately, the prequels weren’t able to stop Lucas’s worst excesses as had been the case with Empire in particular, and less so with Jedi. The sequel trilogy was completely outside the control of its creator so, for many, didn’t satisfactorily close the story as Lucas might have intended. What we ended up with, as an overall saga, seemed to satisfy no one, especially those of us who grew up with the magical originals, particularly the first two. The saga itself is no masterpiece, but contains two of the finest examples of science fiction fantasy. I guess that’s what hurts. But as movie entertainment? Hey, not many movie series come close.

Wes Stewart

Believe it or not Ford was never a big fan of the Solo character. I heard he didn't want to be a part of the new trilogy at first but probably changed his mind after hearing what their plans were for the character. I guess it was enough to convince him to return one last time.

Obsolyeet

I really liked that movie, it seemed darker than the other ones, but it does take place thirty years after Jedi. In a different time. Things change and so does the galaxy.

Eddie Korstanje

Just kidding. I hope you enjoy the movie. I think I'll start watching your New Hope reaction again.

Powers209

Wait... There's a 7th Star Wars movie? That can't be right. I'm almost 100% sure they stopped at 6.

Powers209

Cassie: “Can one quit the stormtroopers?” Oh Cassie, I just loved your reaction. I loved seeing your expression when you first saw Han and Chewie. I was so excited myself the first time I saw that and was waiting for that moment. I loved that you had a smile on your face for most of the movie except when you were in shock and sad by the incident on the bridge. I didn’t except that either and hate that part. I loved that even though you are new to this universe, you picked up on things like “I got a bad feeling about this” Yes, that was really Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill. When I saw this movie, I realized how much I had missed all of them. I’ve seen the original three movies countless times over the years. You also asked about Chewie. Peter Mayhew played him in the the movies and then retired after The Force Awakens. His 7’ 3” height caused him issues as he got older and was eventually wheelchair bound. He died in 2019 at 73 years old. They did have another very tall person playing him. In the credits he was “stunt Chewbacca” for more of the action scenes. Peter had a genetic disorder called Marfan Syndrome which causes the bones to elongate. The other actor took over the role full time in the final two movies. One thing that I like to focus on is that back in 1977 little girls dressed up as Princess Leia for Halloween and a new generation of little girls dressed up like Rey the Halloween after this movie came out. I love that they want to emulate strong bad ass women. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this with you Cassie. 🍿

Tara

Hi Cassie, when I saw the movie in the cinema, there were mixed opinions. I think 80% of the people liked it because it had action, entertainment, Han, Leia, Chewie and Luke and of course new characters. 😁 But there was also that 20% of people who didn't like it for various more or less reasonable reasons. Some just didn't like it because it was Disney now ... just nonsense. Some didn't like it because before there was a different storyline changed by Disney/J. J. Abrams ... okay if that bothers someone, but it didn't bother me. Some didn't like it because the movie seemed to be a mixture/copy of the Episodes IV, V and VI ... first in the desert (-> Tatooine), then on a very 'green' planet (-> Endor), finally on an ice planet (-> Hoth) and also something like the death star but bigger, worse and more powerful. In the end, it doesn't matter, because all that matters is whether you feel entertained or not. 😊

Chris Lüders

Did you know Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher were actually lovers few some time. The chemistry was real.

Matt Mabry

The Tolkien Edit and the Maple Films edit make the Hobbit much better.

Mike Lemon

What are you talking about? There was a lot of good words for Force Awakens, at least until Last Jedi.

Mike Lemon

I loved this one. The next has parts I do not like as much, but just like people hated the prequels and now they are beloved, in time these will too. When Leia shows up, I ball my eyes out. Especially since Carrie Fisher passed away after some of the filming was done. Keep loveing them and don't let haters tell you they are bad. Loved your review!!! Oh, and Ben Solo aka Kylo kept hitting his side because Chewy shot him in the side before they ran out of the building.

NoobTaco (Mike Norton)

There's a lot of hate for these movies, and I certainly have some criticisms of them myself, but they aren't really as bad as everyone says. The directors had some interesting ideas both good and bad and I'm excited to see what your opinion is of them.

Andrew Wilks

Star Wars fans are notoriously nitpicky and they have a lot of nostalgia around the original trilogy. That's why they didn't like it.

granny_goodness

I'm going to have to wait for the YT version. I just don't want to watch this whole $h1* show again (edited for Cassie). l love Star Wars but just couldn't get into the last trilogy.

Outlaw Wales

Really looking forward to her Last Jedi reaction, oh man, the comments are gonna be 🔥🔥🔥 for that one

Obie Brown

I think the sequels had lots of great elements, the actors are all great and have moments to shine, their chemistry when together is engaging. Compared to the clunky acting and dialog of the prequels its night and day. I am also a fan of The Last Jedi, that one does amazing things. The last one though....well...we'll see what Cassie thinks. haha

Obie Brown

Pew, pew pew!

Alex Villarreal

Me too Mark. I have a lot of the Star Wars sets, but I don't believe I have a single one from the ST. I have that big old falcon that came out, and did you see they have a new $799 AT-AT? That thing is cool, but tough times now to spend $800 plus on an AT-AT...

Todzilla

Over the festive period I watched all the movies in chronological order, including Rogue One and Solo, and found the prequels to be not as bad (Jar-jar Binks aside) as I remembered... the originals to be not as awesome as my nostalgia made them out... and the final three to be OK. I can see how real fanboys might fret over the inconsistencies, but as an entertaining series, they're really enjoyable. Rogue One is my favourite. Looking forward to watching Cassie's reactions to the last two.

Matty Rose

I thought The Force Awakens was a good mix of bringing back loved characters and themes and introducing new characters and stories. It retreads A New Hope somewhat but is still a fun film. My favorite of this trilogy is The Last Jedi. Unique departure and definitely the most visually stunning. Rise of Skywalker felt too fan-service-ey but still had some good moments. Looking forward to the next one!

Ricardo Alanis

You know it's funny when she likes a movie the masses don't like everyone says it's OK. But God forbid she doesn't like a popular movie (Batman) and people switch up real quick haha. Anyway great reaction Cassie. In general fans approved this movie its the next 2 that are extremely hated.

Philip G.

They were his to mess with. If he decided to CGI everyone into talking toilets, it would have been his prerogative. Also you whining about the fan base as a closing sentence to you whining about the movies is the cherry on top.

aarswft

Of the new trilogy this one is my favorite, that said it fell short of my expectations, I was expecting a new original story, but almost every major plot point was a repeat of episode 4. From this movie forward I feel like some of the writing just got a little lazy.

Bubba Fett

friday!!

Cassie

I interpreted it is he was trying to 'feel' the pain... since the dark side of the force... the power comes from pain, suffering, etc? I could be wrong.

Jon Johns

Cassies current plan is to watch The Batman in-theater, and record a reaction to it.

Jon Johns

Get well soon!!

Jon Johns

I'm kind of at the point that when I read " I don't think Cassie will like that" I just assume whoever is saying it hates the movie

nick bell

For Cassie, he is. Her opinion. I respect it.

Philip Alan

Everyone loves different things. I knew you'd like it. You probably loved it. You should say so and not be afraid what everyone thinks. Great reaction. Onto the next!

Philip Alan

I agree on "tolerable" and your take on the last two. And you are absolutely right: "by the numbers" Mandalorian is really the only thing fans are holding on to right now. Book of Boba Fett was really bad too.

Todzilla

I'm a LEGO Collector there was a considerable drop off in Lego content. Sets hardly ever go on sale but almost all the the ST went on sale. It's a new generation though so who knows.

Mark M

I'm waiting until she finishes all three to really let lose, because there would be spoilers right now. But how do we go from coolest smuggler in the galaxy to deadbeat dad who misplaced the Millennium Falcon and just gets stabbed by his evil son? Han would never be that stupid. LOL

Todzilla

I agree Mr Trick! I did write a billion paragraph post here about what Star Wars means to me, and took a few tiny hits at my issues with the film but that was it. If this was any other Star Wars forum, it would be "GAME ON" right now! LOL But out of respect to Cassie asking us to "be nice", I've just let all that go.

Todzilla

Toy executives said there was very little interest in the sequel trilogy toys compared to the originals and the prequels. However that is changing because of the Mandalorian. Mando toys are selling much better.

Todzilla

Cole that's interesting. I loved "The Phantom Menace" at the time of release, and I think it's only gotten better as it aged. I know a lot of friends, and "guys on the internet" that have also said the prequels got better with age. I think though, that has a LOT to do with the Clone Wars animated series. May folks have said that the Clone Wars help make the Prequels better. Again Cole, here in Cassie's community there is no problem with your opinion saying Episode I didn't age well, just saying that a lot of people I talk to said it did get better so I found your post interesting.

Todzilla

You realize you don't "have" to watch every reaction she posts, right? Don't like the movie, skip till she comes around to something you are interested in.

Obie Brown

Eleven is the only level to play at...

Mike McLaughlin

Dave's not here, man...

Mike McLaughlin

Great toy commercial. Movie? ...not so much, but that's ok

Wu Sha Ling

Like “The Phantom Menace” I enjoyed this movie well enough at the time, but it’s faded since. It’s still an ok movie, and I think the best of the sequel trilogy. That’s not saying a lot, because I didn’t think much at all of the last 2. But the thing is, so what? It’s just my opinion. I certainly have no issue with someone else enjoying it on their first view. I full would expect someone who is not as invested as I am, like Cassie, to enjoy them more then I did. It makes complete sense to me. You don’t see the flaws when you’re not aware that they are flaws in the first place. Enjoy Cassie, I wish I was watching them for the first time through your eyes😊

Cole Jennett

Well said good sir! Should be more comments like this in here!

Cole Jennett

"How does she have powers?" Aha, I give you fine folks the first witness for the prosecution! Just kidding, just kidding, it was very enjoyable to watch this reaction to the remake of A New Hope with you and see the big smile you had on your face mostly throughout the entire movie. My main feeling about this movie was disappointment with the lack of creativity with the story. Why couldn't they have come up with an original story? Oh well, technically the movie is well made and looks very good, and the performances are adequate. I'm just sorry that a few people have talked about the other movies to come, but no one has done it in any great detail, I don't want Cassie's outlook to become influenced about movies she hasn't yet seen. Other great lines I thrilled to in this reaction: to Kylo Ren during the climatic fight scene - "What's with the ape beating?" LOL, so funny, and when you said to Rey finding an injured Finn: "True love's kiss!" If only it were so!

MikeLL

Great reaction, Cassie! I love to see you trying to figure things out as you are watching this movie, it is a little fun watching your reaction to what I know is about to happen. Another great reaction from the best reactor out there, thanks for inviting us along for the ride

Dave

That is a great analysis and a good way of looking at things . . . if only it were explained in the movie. Lacking that explanation to put all that into context, I think some criticisms of the status quo of this movie are valid.

MikeLL

Ah....Star Wars, where opinions go to 11.

Steve Mercier

I’ll apply the, “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all” methodology to the new trilogy. I’ve spent a considerable amount of time dissecting it and I’m not sure I have the will to do it anymore.

Mr Trick

And another thing! (said in old man voice shaking fist at kids on the lawn). I'd NEVER tell Cassie NOT to watch a film she wanted to watch. Granted when I suggest film series to Cassie I do say things like "You can stop after 'T2' or 'Predator 2'", but if she wanted to continue, I'd be cool with it. Also I'm not a fan of other Patreons trying to "block" movies we want Cassie to see. When I suggest "Robocop, Taxi Driver, Full Metal Jacket" some folks jump in and say "Cassie SHOULDN'T watch those for blah blah reasons". I'm not a fan of the Star Wars Sequel trilogy, but I would never BLOCK you guys if you wanted Cassie to watch them. I hope you guys would do the same for your fellow Patreons if they were to recommend a movie to Cassie that you don't like.

Todzilla

Cassie...let the haters hate. You liked this film, and that is perfectly okay. Other's hated it and the others, that's okay too. I am over the moon happy that you decided not to be influenced by others opinions and try it for yourself. As for Han, these films are "passing the torch" films. The story is going to pivot away from the original trio of characters and focus more on the new trio and the assumption of their own mantles. While these three movies did not do everything well, and maybe arent the filmaking tour de force that we loved from episodes 4-6, there is enough Star Wars and fan service to make me say I just don't care. I liked them and love watching them each time I get a chance. I am glad that you liked it too, and look forward to watching the next two with you when you get to them.

Damon Corrigan

I agree. I've tried to super politely just say I have a different opinion then a lot of folks. My_Cousin_Mose I agree with you, I also detest the Disney trilogy, but especially here in Cassie's little community, I'm not going to get into heated fights.

Todzilla

I enjoyed how much you enjoyed this film. True innocence and taking the film at face value.

Fraser

I like all of the Star Wars movies, including these ones. One thing i've learned is to just not worry about what other people think. Enjoy what you enjoy. Simple as that. It's not for everybody but there are people that enjoy these movies so the only way to figure out which camp you are in is to watch them for yourself and NEVER be sorry about how you feel or what your opinion is. I'm glad you liked this one! Awesome reaction!

Jaromir Edwards

This is one of the great movie theater going experiences I've had in the last ten years. The audience I saw it with loved it. I think JJ knocked it out of the park with the casting of the leads(Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver). This was a really terrific start to the trilogy, mixing the old with the new. Can't wait for The Last Jedi, one of the greatest of all Star Wars films. Unfortunately, I don't think JJ was able to stick the landing with Rise of Skywalker.

BD Williams

Ever since I found Cassie's channel last summer, I eventually knew this day would come. What I learned about the internet is you are not "allowed" to judge another persons fandom. I mean if a person saw a movie once, and they liked it, they are just as much of a fan as someone who has seen it 100s of times and has spent thousands of dollars on merch over many decades, etc. This is what makes me a Star Wars fan: I've seen all the originals in the theater. The Christmas of 1980 I was lucky enough to receive a lot of Star Wars toys (many that would be worth $$$ now but of course have all been thrown away). After 1983's return of the Jedi there was a dark time from about 1986 (After the Droids & Ewok cartoons and Ewok movies) until 1999. During that time I read books, comics and played video games about Star Wars. In the summer of 94 I worked evenings, I'd get home about 11pm and every night I pressed play on the VCR that had Empire Strikes Back in it. I would watch until I got tired then would go to bed. The next night I'd press play and when the film was done, I'd rewind and do it all over again. That summer alone I probably watched Empire about 70 times. I camped out for ALL the prequels. First in line, sometimes waiting for 13+ hours to get in the theater. When Episode II came out, I took a week off work and saw it 22 times in the theater in the first week alone. Yes, I would watch it up to five times a day at the same theater. In the early 2000s I spent thousands of dollars on just Star Wars tattoos. I went to every Star Wars Celebration convention starting at the 4th one, no mater what city it was in. In 2013 I spent 376 days hand making a Chewbacca costume, nothing was bought (except for his leather bandolieer). Every piece of hair was manually stitched. I learned how to do a life cast, sculpt and mold just to make the mask from scratch. So am I a fan? You judge that. I'm not telling my history with Star Wars to say my opinions matter more than anyone else's. I'm telling you MY history, to tell you how much Star Wars means to ME. It means A LOT. Star Wars got me through my parents death in 89, my stage 4 cancer in 2000. The death of my sister in 2010 and my brothers death in 2013. Star Wars always gets me through hard times. Star Wars just isn't some film series, it's how I was raised. It's a part of my life. As for Disney Star Wars? In my opinion, it is absolutely horrible. Like other Patreons have said, we can't go into details right NOW because it will spoil the last two for Cassie. I mean Episode 7 was basically a copy of Episode 4. Rey has no heroes journey (unlike Luke). She could fly the Falcon just as good as Han right out of the gate. She could use a lightsaber with little to no training (sorry, being good at using a staff is nothing like using a lightsaber). The "bad guys" were NOT scary. Hux is no Tarkin. Kylo is no Vader. Were these films commercial successes? YES. But anything with a Star Wars name gets some success. Also Solo failed at the box office because people were burnt out on these films. They have no lasting staying power compared to the originals or even the prequels. If you don't believe me, believe Disney. WITHOUT SPOILERS, notice everything fairly recent (Mandalorian+) has been avoiding the Sequel Era and going back to the classic eras like the Originals and the Prequels? Here's my dilemma: ever since finding Cassie's channel she's brought me a ton of enjoyment and happiness! She's even gotten me to watch movies along side of her that I would have never watched (not enough apparently since I bombed on the POP Quiz). I even (reluctantly) watched her Solo and Rogue One reactions. I just don't know if I could bear to watch 7-9 even with her. As a stereotypical man, I'd tell someone to "suck it up" and just do it, but I just hate Disney too much for what they did to Han, Luke and Leia. Maybe I will watch her shorter youtube versions? But there is some good news out there, let's pray she watches the Mandalorian soon. It's much better than anything previously Disney has done with Star Wars. It still has a LOT of flaws but "some" of those episodes come close to perfection. Also we know she want's to see "Apollo" again :)

Todzilla

Try sleeping with a neck pillow when you kink your neck. Surprisingly helps.

Jason Dolan

awful trilogy. might skip these reactions

MetallicOpeth

Hey guys, don't know if this has been shared here before. A must see for anyone who has seen Star Wars and Snatch. Brick's dialogue is swapped for Darth Vader and it is absolutely hilarious, this is the type of thing that YouTube was made for. I give you, 'Snatch Wars' :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDKiQfBs9lo

Jay

“Why does she have so many powers?” “Has she ever even fought before?” I know Cassie doesn’t know tropes, so someone needs to explain “Mary Sue” to her, and why it was a complaint of those who didn’t enjoy the ST. Also, regarding Han, “I don’t accept it”. Don’t worry, none of us do, Cassie. None of us do. lol

Daniel Pulliam

I guess I’m easy to please because I thought it was great. When I saw it in the theater, there were lots of claps and cheers throughout the movie. Also, after getting the prequels from Lucas (and the dreaded Jar Jar Binks), this was a welcome change.

Aaron Mann

This one is the most tolerable of the sequels and I could watch it again. Unfortunately the next one is awful and the final one is an abomination. If it wasn’t for the Mandalorian I’m pretty sure Disney’s Star Wars would have crashed and burned.

Alex Gorell

Ignore the haters. I'm old school where we don't call Ep 4 A New Hope. Two of them are fun and it's great to be back in that world especially after the prequels..Rian Johnson should never be allowed on a Star Wars set...ever! Glad to see his 3 picture trilogy has officially been shelved.

Gideon James

J.J. Abrams, the director of this film, and Rick Carter, the production designer, created the character Maz Kanata as a tribute to their beloved high school English teacher Rose Gilbert. She taught in Pacific Palisades at the school featured in Cassie’s very fun Freaky Friday (2003) reaction. Her Star Wars affiliated students also include “Rogue One” star Forest Whitaker. And Carrie Fisher first auditioned for George Lucas in Mrs. Gilbert’s classroom during a tryout for Carrie (1976), subsequently filmed at Palisades High. It’s not Star Wars canon that Maz Kanata taught Saw Gerrera in a room where Princess Leia was discovered. But maybe it should be. Mrs. Gilbert aka “Mama G” taught my family as well and inspired many with her passion for great literature. She was wonderfully kind to me senior year when I was hospitalized after a car accident. Both J.J. Abrams and Rick Carter attended her funeral in 2013. And thereafter created this endearing tribute to a great lady and inspirational teacher.

Steve Holton

I'm glad you liked it. And yes, it is kind of a beat-for-beat retread of the original film, but it's still fun.

Texas Anla'Shok

I liked the sequels but it’s a shame the dialogue didn’t rise to the same level as the action sequences and special effects.

Rosario Cicero

Glad you enjoyed it. I’ll never be mad you enjoyed a movie.

Steven Ashford

Small bits of well known trivia on this one: the storm trooper Rey mind controlled to release her was actually Daniel Craig who was filming a James Bond movie on the next lot over at the same time this was being made. He asked JJ Abrams to give him a small part. Also, Unkar Plutt (the character giving out the quarter portions) was played by Simon Pegg who also featured in Star Trek.

TopGun2

That said, I enjoyed this trilogy so was very happy to see you reacting to it and I'm excited to see the rest with you.

TopGun2

Another great reaction! I enjoyed Force Awakens, was fun and nostalgic. The next two not as much. It felt like the stories weren't planned out when they created the new trilogy. I'm still super excited to watch your reactions of them! 😊

Nismo

I enjoyed this trilogy, not as much as the original one but still enjoyed them. I think a lot of the haters didn't like how weak the evil characters were in this, Snoke showed no powers or any reason why he should be feared or respected, Ren was basically just a wimp - almost outstripped by Hux and outfought by Rey who was untrained in the force and with a lightsaber. The Han thing wasn't a popular move, obviously, and the whole movie here left so many unanswered questions that it felt a bit gimmicky just to force us to watch the later ones - the originals never did that, at least not en-masse. Some fans didn't like the Han Leia situation much, or the status of Fin & Rey's relationship. The last complaint was that it wasn't a very original story, it was pretty much a re-telling of Episode IV which most die hard fans felt didn't need remaking.

TopGun2

I love this movie and love Rey. I don’t care what anyone else thinks. Don’t feel bad for liking something others do not.

Michael Weiner

I like how she adds play nice. She knows these next three are controversial. I won't sit through these again but I hope she enjoys them.

Michael Lynch

Unlike Firefly fans, Star Wars fans are not the nicest people in the world.

Carol_White

Thank you for reacting to this :) I wasn't too big of a fan when it came out, but I enjoyed it a lot more watching this reaction. Good company can often enhance a movie experience so I had a really fun time diving back into this. :)

Sindre Kristiansen

Glad that you went into this with an open mind and just enjoyed it. I never understood why people go into a movie waiting and wanting to not like it lol. All of the star wars movies are enjoyable, some are better than others but still entertaining. "Purist" in every big franchise always have a problem with something lol.

David Martin

I believe we should just let her watch and form her own opinions. Isn't that what a reaction to a film is supposed to be. I can't believe anyone can be negitive to Cassie about her options. We are here for her and I'm glad others believe that too.

David Freese

I loved it.

Andy Hafler

Maureen O'Hara

Stick Figure Studios

Cassie, Kylo Ren kept "pounding himself like an ape" because he was shot in that spot by Chewbacca's cross bow laser. Which is why he was bleeding on the snow and weakened. Probably trying to fight the pain is my guess

Shawn Kildal

Just knew your reaction to them putting the band back together. With each introduction.. your eyes would glaze over.. misty.. like pulling up an old blanket and feeling all will be well.. like your children feel safe in your embrace.. I dislike this movie so much, I have watched it 15+ times.. it is like a comfortable glove.. it is a formula that works.. you want them all to come home safely, but like an old western, you know you're gonna lose a few on the way.. looking forward to The Quiet Man, Maureen O'Hara with that fiery red hair and Irish accent.. There is a movie she did with John Candy that is really sweet.. Only The Lonely.. also stars Ally Sheedy (breakfast club)

Mike McLaughlin

I remember a quote I heard somewhere from some comedian that "Nobody, and I mean nobody, hates Star Wars films more than Star Wars fanatics". Which I thought was kind of funny. The Force Awakens received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics. Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an A score (A+ to F range). I'm with Cassie, I enjoyed the heck out of it. I will admit the next 2 aren't as good as this one though

Shawn Kildal

You know what I like about Cassie, she gives everything a fair shake and she likes making up her own mind. You go Cassie!

Obie Brown

I think this was the best movie out of the sequels, curious what you think as we go deeper, lol. Also, a lot of the dejavu that you mention, well there is a reason for that too, lol. I wasn't just upset at Han Solo dying, it was the manner of how it happened, but I digress. Also, Ben Solo has to have known that Darth Vader became Anakin Skywalker again before he died. One last thing, I like how you are suspecting things that we all suspected to happen, well, that's another 'lol', lol. Just wait for it! lol.

Mr. Killeverything

Haha Cassie knows the comment section is gonna get heated. I think with Disney Star Wars there is no escaping it. No matter what channel or format the discussion is happening on- there will be arguing and sadly it will get heated. Lets just all remember that the world has enough suckiness right now and we shouldn't take other peoples opinions about a movie personally and let it get us mad. Personally I detest the Disney trilogy. I'm going to bet Cassie will enjoy these movies and that doesn't bother me in the slightest.

My_Cousin_Mose

Loved your reaction. I loved this movie when it came out and saw it several times in the theater. This movie had mostly positive reviews and feedback when it was released. As was Rogue One, which came out one year after Force Awakens. The real pushbsck and divide amongst fans didn't happen until Episode 8, The Last Jedi came out. I'll leave my overall feelings for The sequel trilogy for after you finish watching and reacting to all 3.

David Crabtree

This reaction was exactly what I predicted. I knew Cassie would enjoy it, despite what so many people say about the sequels. People are writing multiple paragraphs passionately pleading with people to understand why the sequels are bad lol. Relax - everything is going to be o.k. if she watches and enjoys the next two movies.

Johnny

I think you're confusing the Resistance and the original Rebellion. Which can be confusing because I don't think it was clearly explained in the movie. So the Resistance/First Order dynamic is different than the original Rebillion and Empire. Here, the First Order was formed from remnants of the fallen Empire, and even though they have a significant presence in the Force Awakens, the First Order are not the overall governing body like the Empire was. Thibk of the First Order as a growing powerful terroist/military organization seeking to take power away from the current government, the New Republic. The Resistance (led by Leia), is a splinter military group, supported by the New Republic, designed to combat the growing aggressions of the First Order. That's basically a bare bones explanation.

David Crabtree

Who cares what people think about these newer movies. They are great enjoyable movies.

Mike Vasconcelos

Awesome reaction Cassie!! I really enjoy the sequels! Every single one! I love the universe and stories and everything else. I am very glad you decided to watch these! I really look forward to the next one! Also, for the record, each one of the original trilogy was directed by a different director.

MattN

The next movie is really where the controversy started. I think The Last Jedi is terrific, the second best movie in the entire Skywalker Saga … but it IS very different. The writer/director of that movie dared to move Star Wars in a really new direction and took some huge risks, and it really pissed off a lot of the fan base, who wanted things to be the same. I can’t say too much more without spoiling it, but I think you’ll definitely see what I mean. You might hate some of the choices - many people did.

Brian Harris

Ya know what... I grew up lovin Star Wars so much. First George started messing with stuff that tainted my overall enjoyment. But like what ever. Then came those collectively vastly inferior prequels. Then George messed with the originals AGAIN with little regard of what they had meant to their original audience. Then that controverial sale and Fan Wars continued which the sequels. Which only continued that trend. But the thing that sticks in my crawl space the most is the feeling that I just wanna extricate myself from a fan base, as I just can't stand either side anymore. For me personally, more than anything. It's the fan base that has sucked all my enjoyment out of Star Wars for me. I even stopped watching the TV shows, that I'm told are good. I just couldn't see it myself. Every bit of criticism, I'll say has 'some' validity. I get the anger and I get the hate. But it's just led to my suffering.

Daryl

The first time I watched the Hobbit trilogy I was highly irritated because it diverges from the book so heavily (and the funniest scene from the book, in my opinion, was missing). The thing is,if you can accept the movies for what they are they actually become enjoyable. But, if I hadn't accepted it I would have just moved along. I don't understand why people choose to engage with a set of movies if they know it's going to make them unhappy or if they know they can't accept them for what they are and then do their best to convince other people to agree with them...no one is forcing anyone to watch a reaction.

Andrew Ramos

No one ever accused Star Wars of attempting to follow the laws of nature.

Andrew Ramos

Poe is not better than Luke. LOL.

Doug R

Hey Cassie, I'm not the biggest fan of the sequels but I enjoyed the reaction. I'm glad you didn't listen to the detractors and you took enjoyment from the movie. No matter what us knuckleheads say I feel you always go into a movie with an open mind and form you're own opinions. I respect that and hope that you continue. This actually is the best of the sequels so keep enjoying what you do and we'll be there for you.

David Freese

"Snoke looks like an oversized Gollum" perfect comment when it's the same actor playing them both. The death of Han Solo was more or less the only way they could get Harrison Ford back. He have talked about how Solo should be killed off for the greater good for over 40 years now (and wanted that to happen in the originals). I also don't really have any issues with Force Awakens.. sure it's New Hope 2.0 and Leia not hugging Chewie after Solo's death was always something I hated (and JJ Abrams apologised for it ), its the next two I wish they did better. Small note: The original three movies was directed by three different directors (George, Irvin Kershner & Richard Marquand) so it doesn't have to be something bad... but yeah in these new three.. you really see the issues with different plans/views (or lack off...) and how it impact the end result. I really hope you go into The Mandalorian & Book of Boba Fett after this to go event deeper. If you start pretty soon you will be done before the new Kenobi series comes! (with the same actors for Obi-Wan & Anakin as the prequals) or even Clone Wars & Rebels.. but that's a big commitment

Rippan

Yeah, it's difficult to talk about why people dislike the sequels so much without spoiling the next two movies for Cassie, which I have no right to do (or desire). Will have to wait until she watches those before we get into it too much.

Joel P

what lore? they regressed everything and everyone and then filled in all the dead space with heavy handed references. none of the decisions the characters make are logical and everything that happens is essentially a magical coincidence. am i gate keeping because i want something that is actually lore and not just some reformed stale mashed potatoes? there was an extensive extended story that was well loved and received by star wars fans but they chose to throw all of that away for something that was not even half baked. but sure..gate keeping..or something...

rubberkidney

the Star Wars fans were insulted by the director and Kathleen Kennedy , the movies are just the movies , take em or leave them , but to insult your loyal fanbase because some dirtbags insulted your movie , well they created their enemies . plus the women are stronger then men theme , taking Lukes character , woops , getting ahead of myself there . sorry

Mike Lipke

If fans of the originals were given the middle finger for profit, then they obviously failed in their projection, given that Han Solo standalone was box office failure and Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker made significantly less money. In fact, Disney did so much damage to the IP that a number of their planned Star Wars productions were put on hold. The plan was to release some kind of Star Wars film every year, like you see with Marvel, but that hasn't happened since the poor reception of Rise and Han Solo. Yes, the sequels still all made over a billion dollars worldwide. The question is: how much MORE money did they leave on the table? I think a lot, especially if you factor in the lost opportunity of more sequels and spinoffs. They're lucky that The Mandalorian found some success and breathed a little bit of life back into the franchise. But it's still in poor shape, due entirely to Disney's incompetence and insistence on putting politics before pleasing fans and telling a good stories and creating compelling characters.

Joel P

Everyone has a right to their own opinion. I will always respect that. One thing people are forgetting is Hollywood is a business. They hire people who they think will make them the most money. Unfortunately catering to fans rarely factors in. It's nearly impossible to make a movie in the 2010's that truly succeeds the originals. A business decision was made to cater to a younger audience who wants a less complicated story to follow. Probably 75% of the people who saw the movies in the theater were causal fans. That's who Hollywood caters too. I don't agree with it, but the studio wants to maximize profit. LOL we just need to do a Kickstarter and buy the Star Wars franchise from Disney and we can make our own!!

Fireteam Joker

As a movie, it is like A New Hope.. But that is okay.. look there are a zillion questions.. just the physics don't make sense.. If you suck all the energy mass from the central star of the solar system, what is the impact on the gravitational pull and impact on the system.. It would be highly impactful that would kill off all the planets anyway.. To blow the planets up is just showmanship.. But who cares, just enjoy and don't take it too seriously.. Like the diversity of this episode.. Like to take Ray to Prom because she has missed out on so much already.. And don't go back to Jakku!!

Mike McLaughlin

The new series is great, people just want to complain because they enjoy gate keeping lore they didn't have anything to do with.

John Burkhard

I enjoyed the sequel trilogy to be honest. Isn't as good as the others but Still enjoyed. When will the YouTube edited version be up? :)

Tyrone Edwards

Wow, lol! Really? Seven years later? Dang, dude! I really liked the movie. I had fun watching it. I hope you are doing ok!

Shaun Ganyo

if you have the right to like something and make a comment then we have the right to not like something and make a comment. please try to understand.

rubberkidney

there are a bunch of reasons people dont like these movies and this one as well. first it makes no sense. what happened after the empire fell? how did the rebel alliance..who was in control after return of the jedi become subverted AGAIN by a headless version of the empire that was able to grow strong enough to build ANOTHER death star...only way bigger and more implausible. the truth is the new order and alliance had to be reset so that they could remake and redo the earlier movies. this leads to the second issue character regression. han from a new hope to return of the jedi was a huge character growth but they just completely trash that so that they can make this movie as similar to a new hope as possible. everyone has to be reset, all character growth is meaningless, luke abandoned his friends han is just some two bit smuggler and leia leads the resistance. utterly lazy and insulting. in addition harrison ford hates star wars and has wanted nothing to do with it ever since the end of the 3rd movie. it has long been known that he refused to participate in any new star wars production unless they agree to kill off han solo. So the choice to kill han was not made as an interesting story element but to feed the ego of one of the actors. completely shameful and horrible. for some reason now the jedi and the force are a myth even though just 50 years prior they sat at the seat of power in the galaxy and were an instrumental tool for the republic with a reputation for being powerful and just saturating the galaxy. ...but not jj abrams needs it to be a myth so no one remembers it now. just more silly nonsense. everything that happens in these movies is a coincidence and a happy accident taking the time to actually step through the 'plot' reveals how haphazardly thrown together it is. the most important thing to them is what the characters on the screens genitalia and skin color are, they forgot to actually come up with an interesting plot much less plan an entire trilogy. the original star wars isnt exactly science accurate but it at least doesnt spit in the face of common and well understood astronomical function. for example these planets that are blown up...are all right next to each other. not only are we not told where the hell the starkiller base is but now it is able to hit multiple planets all in the same tight orbit? its able to suck in energy from something millions of times larger than itself? its just utterly stupid and silly for no reason other than its lazy. then theres the ceasless references to the original movies. Its so tired and over played and they dont execute it with any class or wit. its just BOOM remember this shit? BOOM remember that shit? when i think of the original movies and even the prequels certain lines stand out as memorable: 'what a wonderful smell youve discovered' 'in my experience, there’s no such thing as luck' 'i thought that harry beast would be the end of me!' 'try not, do or do not, there is no try' 'its a trap' the memorable moments and quotes are endless...but for these movies there are precisely zero of those moments. there is not one single worth while moment or line from the new movies that will stand the test of time.

rubberkidney

Great movie. Hope you enjoyed

Andrew

I like it.

Shaun Ganyo

Have you seen or plan to see THE BATMAN just saw it in the weekend and think it was amazing it will be available to stream next month so hope we can get a reaction from you

Matt

ps. i knew some of the names like rey and bb8, kylo ren from disneyland, but not anything about them obvi.

Cassie

I like the Force Awakens.

Shaun Ganyo

I really enjoy this movie.

Shaun Ganyo

I love your intro to this, Cassie! "Play nice." People already are not, of course, but good try!

Shaun Ganyo

Don't care what anyone says I love all the star wars films and look forward to seeing what you think of the new ones

Matt

The Micheal Keaton head movement. lol 😂 Yea, got that before. . A lot actually!!! Going to have 500 edits, cause I watch then type, watch more then type. Why my stuff looks so odd. But, yea. I did see this in a theater. A packed theater with a lot expected. And 7 I admitted.... Kind of was OK., and planted what was A NEW HOPE (get it, little pun in their :/ ) for 8. ,,,,,,, 😱. And then 8 was 😱. Although.... More I think about it. Their was 3 huge parts I love in 8. And a lot I was,,,,,, 🙄 about it. Which stunk, cause I was crushing, and had huge hopes for Rey. Cause the character works! Just not all the script writing. I think the real issue was two things. 1) The original's are so good, you can't live up to them. 2) Changing, and their was tension on this between the two of them. But changing writing and direction. So much so, he mentions he set it all up in 7. Now its a mess I have to try and fix in the last. (My grammar check needs fired,)

Michael J

I'm looking forward to this. Buckle Up!

Joseph Krider

Couldn't we watch something with moral integrity and cultural significance, like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)? I'm VERY forgiving of other people's tastes but the star wars sequels genuinely trigger me whenever they cross my path

Dustin Nelson

Star Wars: The Ride The Movie youll remember that time that thing happened for the first time! i wonder what would happen if you made a movie based on a political agenda and didnt do anything to actually create or plan a story in any way? what would that look like? the amazing thing is that despite this movie being such a hollow hack job cash grab they actually manage to make it WORSE. incredible.

rubberkidney

Ah yes, that ground loop will get ya (the buzzing). Looking forward to this reaction. Here we go. P.S. Cassie, you obviously pinched your neck creating the next PiB short. Can you give us a hint of which routine you were performing?

Andrew Ramos

Ugh... If only I wasn't stuck in a hospital right now. I'd turn on Disney+ for this. (Dramatic Sigh)

Aaron

I guess gaurd rails don't exist in star wars...if they did, they could have had a funeral service for Han. Either that or they didn't think it was important. more proof noone cared about Han? Chewie and Leia don't even acknowledge it or eachother after coming bacK from witnessing their son murder him. No, she hugs Rey...would have forgiven all that nonsense if they just made the next 2 films atleast decent enough. that being said, this movie is well made and totally watchable, if you can block out the others from your mind. and I don't know whose giving you the impression that liking Rogue one is an unpopular opinion.
