Which Rocky 4 Should We Watch?

Guys, I know this is always a passionate question when it comes to which version to watch, I have read arguments for both but can't decide, so can you decide for me?

We are watching tonight, so this is a very quick poll!

Love you, mean it!

I’ll throw my hand up in defense of Rocky V as well. I actually prefer it to IV. It got the series back on the path of telling a character-driven story, not just endless montages and fighting. I’ve always thought it was incredibly underrated.

Daniel Pulliam

Great, I'm watching these rocky movies along for the first time. Thank you very much ****!

Pickupthepieces76

Spoiler much?

ArsTropica

Some questionable casting choices aside, I quite enjoy Rocky 5.

David Crabtree

Once Creed got killed, I was done.

Dan

"Gimme an........................................................................I"

Dan

Just to reiterate, and I’ll go ahead and say predict, Cassie will like ROCKY V, as it is wholly undeserving of the negative superlatives used here,

Jason Chirevas

Here I am just chilling in here to avoid the Batman comment section, looking forward to Rocky 4 and Rocky Balboa 🥸

Christopher B.

Can we vote for none?

David Martin

Rocky V is dreadful, and shouldn't be watched under any circumstances. But Rocky IV is good enough, and the modern-day "Rocky Balboa" is wonderful, and a perfect bridge to the Creed films.

William 1611

Rocky IV is her husbands favorite of the series, she won't stop now. Although I agree she'll HATE Rocky 5 for a reason we all know (which is by far the worst decision Sylvester Stallone did in the whole series), it's viewing is necessary if she wants to continue watching the rest of the series which are all great IMHO.

Radwar

I disagree. Rocky V is the series low point, IMO but everything after that is solid. She needs to get to Creed because I think that is a fantastic movie that expands the Rocky universe the right way. Creed II, while not as good is still enjoyable.

inpham0us

@Craig Russell totally agree sir. You have to follow the characters through the lesser films to fully appreciate what's to come. Balboa might be my favorite as well. I and II are so classic I can't say I'd definitely put it at the top, but it's right up there. Special place in my heart. Once they get to 5, before Balboa hits I really want to try and hammer home the point of just how much time had passed. And how growing up Rocky was like The Godfather series in that is was complete. They had a VHS box set, Then a dvd set, then special edition dvd. We thought it was done, and on a sour note. Then Balboa came along...

Erik Daniel

I’m gonna be the guy who says ROCKY V is unduly maligned and will be well worth Cassie’s (and Carly’s) time.

Jason Chirevas

Watch both please. The first to feel the full experience of Rocky and the Director's cut because it makes more sense in the series and is less corny.

Yann Laliberté

Agreed

YOU may want her to stop now. I want her to keep going.

Shaun Ganyo

Yes, Rocky 5 is the worst of them all, but you kinda have to watch it to understand where Rocky is in Rocky 6 AKA Balboa (which, to me, is the best of the franchise).

Craig Russell

Unfortunately I think you will be greatly disappointed with this and future Rocky movies. You may want to stop now.

KauaiKeith

Untouchables or Batman?! Untouchables or Batman?!?! Which and when?!?!

Krusty “Topher”

Oh, another thing!!!!! There are some CORNY PARTS! But just look past those. And the music is odd at first. But Ive studied music. Were trained to love familiarity. But once I got use to it. I had this blasting in the weights room. The synth,,,,,,, Pedal bass!!!!! The "Were not in-destructible ,,,,,, Ba better get that strait" Maybe the best play list. For some it was. Miss 2s win win low tension Orchestra. But a change up. Embrace that.

Cassie: Congratulations on Canadian Women's Hockey winning the Gold. The National Winter sport of Canada.

Kenneth

Personally I think the directors cut is better but it’s probably best you doing the original as i think most people will need to pay for it to watch the full reaction. But it’s definitely worth watching (even if you don’t do it on your channel) I saw it at the cinema at the end of last year it was awesome

Dean Holt

Hey hey ho ho, congrats on Team Canda Gold! Sorry, have The Replacements cheer stuck in my head lol 😅

Nismo

I wasn't even aware there was a new cut. So, simply for watch-along sake, I would say the original.
