Added 2022-02-13 07:15:08 +0000 UTCHi everyone, here are the top 4 from each of the 2 earlier polls in this category. This time it will only be one vote each, so choose carefully ;) The poll will be open until Tuesday evening. I will watch the winning movie right away and the runner up next month. May the best movie win!!
Ps-Happy Eminem Concert with football tomorrow ;) what's your fav Super Bowl snack? I think mine is a homemade buffalo chicken dip or a cowboy salsa!

Will you please still watch the Usual suspects? Your mind will be blown.

2022-02-19 06:10:33 +0000 UTCJohn Wayne was a terrible actor. He was a caricature. The movies he played in were simplistic, unoriginal, cookie cutter westerns. The Good, bad and ugly was decent, but so corny. The spaghetti westerns in general were just incredibly cheesy. Not my cup of tea. They don't compare to Unforgiven.

2022-02-18 23:25:58 +0000 UTCI would like to make suggestions of Awakenings with Robin Williams and Robert DeNiro and Simon Birch. I think you would love them both

2022-02-18 16:33:21 +0000 UTC"I love this plan, I'm excited to be a part of it. Let's do it!" - Pete Venkman. I'm still upset that Mr. Kilmer wasn't even nominated for an oscar, he was on another level for that one. Also, good call on Wyatt Earp @Tara, it definitely doesn't get the love it deserves.

2022-02-18 04:52:41 +0000 UTCYou won’t be disappointed watching any of these movies. I like them all.

Tara
2022-02-17 13:23:11 +0000 UTCThe greatest western ever made. LOL what a joke. Have you seen The Cowboys with John Wayne or Good Bad Ugly?

2022-02-17 05:40:40 +0000 UTCI’ll be your huckleberry. 😎

2022-02-17 04:57:07 +0000 UTCUnforgiven didn't win, it was second place.
Mike Lemon
2022-02-17 02:19:41 +0000 UTC@Obie Agreed! Point Break… I said the same thing in another comment. Keanu and Swayze in one movie!
Tara
2022-02-17 02:16:49 +0000 UTCYay!! The Untouchables!! Bring on more Kevin Costner and Sean Connery. Cassie will know who Eliot Ness is… now we just need her to learn about Wyatt Earp. *clears throat* Tombstone… I love Val Kilmer in this movie and how about more Costner in the movie Wyatt Earp. Sound good Cassie? 🍿
Tara
2022-02-17 02:13:47 +0000 UTCUnforgiven is awful? It won best picture. Arguably the greatest western ever made.

2022-02-16 22:13:46 +0000 UTCLets get Point Break in there, Keanu and Swayze combo

2022-02-16 21:53:14 +0000 UTCThere should be Heist movie poll :-)
enigmatic_thinker
2022-02-16 21:40:57 +0000 UTCShe loved The Replacements so how is that an awful winner? Isn't the point to suggest and vote for movies that people think she would like?
Radwar
2022-02-16 12:49:41 +0000 UTCWoo hoo!!!!! I knew it would be a great movie for once!!! Was so disappointing with the lat two polls. The Replacements and Unforgiven were awful winners.

2022-02-16 09:37:39 +0000 UTCYup. Here endeth the lesson

2022-02-16 09:35:54 +0000 UTCIs it over!!!! Did Untouchables Win!!! Never stop fighting 'til the fight is done. :-)

2022-02-16 09:34:16 +0000 UTCI resisted that temptation (I kept my vote on Maltese Falcon) but am VERY glad Untouchables beat out Usual Suspects.
Henry Fitzgerald
2022-02-16 09:33:46 +0000 UTCAnd UNTOUCHABLES takes it. Never stop fighting 'til the fight is done. :-)

2022-02-16 07:21:12 +0000 UTCYeah but the movie isn't really about the serial killer its about the obsession of finding the serial killer that wrecks their lives.
Brian Sevilla
2022-02-15 07:31:39 +0000 UTCIt looks like The Untouchables and The Usual Suspects will be the two movies Cassie will watch, which shouldn't be a surprise given they got the most votes in the previous A/B poll. Assuming the % are exact and no rounding, there is a 9 or10 vote difference between 1st and 2nd. I suspect a few who voted for the other movies may switch their vote to ensure one of the two leaders ends up being the first watched. Anyways, I found this whole process fascinating and look forward to Cassie's reaction.

2022-02-15 07:26:20 +0000 UTCI get down on my knees every night and thank god you are here to avoid all these disasters, Rick, my friend! By the way, when you told me that you and Al can argue if you want to, I wasn't talking about Al, I was talking about you and Brian. More great reading comprehension on your part, genius!
Shaun Ganyo
2022-02-15 04:28:23 +0000 UTCYes indeed we are only talking movies. My rant is just that a rant to bad you found it "a bizarre diatribe" again I am left with modifying my behavior to make it more platable. Nope. Not trying to disrespect you but I'll stand by what I said. Good fortune to you. We'll see how it flies when the movie comes around.
R Harper
2022-02-15 03:28:00 +0000 UTCHoly mackerel! I only asked you to clarify what you found to be ultra violent and gory about the movie and instead you go on some bizarre diatribe about "threatened world views." If that's not projection, I don't know what is. You're the only one getting super defensive and calling people names. It's pretty clear who feels threatened here. Anyway, the scene you allude to is blurred as a flashback and we're spared the details. Yes, it can be disturbing, but it certainly is not gory. How about the next time someone asks you to expand upon your opinion, try not being so acerbic, and condescending. We're only talking movies here.
Al Swearengen
2022-02-15 03:18:10 +0000 UTCIts a Dead Heat!....that reminds me Cassie should watch "Heat" (1995) hehe
Obie Brown
2022-02-15 01:58:45 +0000 UTCKeep talking, old boy. Nothing about you is threatening. You're just wrong. HUGE difference!
Shaun Ganyo
2022-02-15 00:14:35 +0000 UTCAl - had to run before I finish my thought. What I think is interesting about all of this is how threatened people are because I won't ascribe to their definition of content, motivations, behavior or any other factors that are inherent in any discussion. Why? Because I threaten something in their worldview and they get defensive " how dare he not think like me / us?" "How dare he find that ultra violent" "how dare he disagree?" You apply motivations to me without really knowing what my motivations are, number of people have all because they feel threatened by an opposing view makes them uncomfortable. It's a movie. My opinion of it is not threatening. It is only perceived that way by some people that find it threatening. We are herd animals. We all turn our backs to the wind.
R Harper
2022-02-14 23:27:40 +0000 UTCAl - yep, I gave her heads up. It has violence against a woman and her children and Cassie's particularly sensitive to that kind of violence. No doubt she'll get through it. Comparing bananas and pears is not equivalency to Braveheart, Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator, etc. She will eventually watch it. I have no doubt would like her to see what she's getting into without spoilers. You can frame it as "do I protect her" More like I respect her sensibilities. Should do what she does and hopefully get something from the experience. However, not backing down on what I have to say, nor would I expect you to.
R Harper
2022-02-14 23:06:04 +0000 UTCUntouchables is very real too.

2022-02-14 21:18:43 +0000 UTCIn comparison

2022-02-14 19:59:12 +0000 UTCI understand in the sense that the Zodiac was a killer. Respectfully that makes Al Capone a Genocidal maniac.
Eddie McGinnis
2022-02-14 19:58:32 +0000 UTCI guess if you haven't seen the untouchables... Its a must
Eddie McGinnis
2022-02-14 19:42:25 +0000 UTCThe only movie on this list that based on a real crime is Zodiac. Love that movie because I was alive during that time and remember the news reports. It’s scary because it’s real.
