Update and Upcoming and Hi!

Hey guys!! Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back!! I hope you off to a good start on this week, and I hope this lineup will help! I am excited about all of these:) Far and Away will be up tonight. I had to "bank" some reactions as I got this micro needling facial thing done yesterday and it looks like I got sunburnt and beat up in the same day, so no camera for me for a few days :/
And the Superbowl is this week, I am excited about the snacks and commercials with a side of football ;) I think there are usually some big movie trailer releases during the Superbowl as well right? Should I do a Super Bowl trailer reaction? Could be fun! (wait, why do I not know if Super Bowl is one word or two?)
Ok a few more things!
Thank you so much for all the suggestions last week about the detective/investigation poll! I have been trying to get this poll together, but there were so so many great suggestions and it has been very hard to narrow down and categorize movies you have never seen. Since there were so many this would be a good {bracket} category...... but I have a feeling that maybe you guys don't love those anymore? There was some feedback last time that votes could be manipulated by computer hackers (ok actually just using a different ip address)
SOOOOOO here is my solution-We are going to do TWO polls of TEN movies-those will both go up today and last 3 days. AND THEN...We will take the top 4 from each and they will go into another champion poll in 3 days for the WINNER!! Look for those first two polls going up shortly.
Ok last thing, we are looking for a new moderator to help out. If you are interested will you let me know? It would just be hanging out on premiers and lives blocking the pervs and trolls, and then maybe scanning through YT comments now and again for the same kind of thing.

My condolences - for both of you ;)

2022-02-12 22:22:26 +0000 UTCI'd rather actors go the Kevin Costner route in Robin Hood (i.e. - not bother out of fear of looking silly) than do a horrifically bad accent. The fact Tom Cruise is a star isn't an excuse. While he isn't the only movie star to have butchered an Irish accent down the years, plenty of big names have managed it without making the film unwatchable for us.

2022-02-10 18:40:45 +0000 UTCFor me it’s Hurricane! Not trying to take anything away from Glory, but Denzel deserved that Oscar over Kevin Spacey.

2022-02-10 17:29:36 +0000 UTCI've been requesting "Glory" for months now. It is great that she's getting to it. I'd love to see more reactors watch it. It has a good story as well as a number of rising stars.

2022-02-10 06:32:48 +0000 UTCThere were many reactions like yours when the movie came out. I think anything that Tom does needs to be taken with a huge grain of salt from a realism prospective. Most times he is in the movie just to be the star.

2022-02-10 06:30:18 +0000 UTCI guess there is some merit in these concerns and strategic voting could be a possibility. It would be much fair if either the selected choices would be final or the numbers would be hidden until the poll ends. Although it seems a lot of work for me doing this strategic voting. You would have to constantly monitor the current state of 2 separate polls to see what would be the top 4-4 picks and the bottom 4-4, also - at least in the current polls - 2-2 dropouts as well. Then constantly adjust your votes accordingly. Not to mention people have different favorites so they would be working against each other if doing this.

2022-02-10 06:24:06 +0000 UTCI would be supporting a randomly drawn option too. It crossed my mind as well while thinking about the polls. The reason I was suggesting a "losers" poll instead that it would provide more interaction for us.

2022-02-10 06:13:42 +0000 UTCWell, I have to admit that I don't really care about trailer reactions, I then care about the actual films. 😄 But if you like to do it, it's not bad either, just uninteresting for me. Bad would only be a reaction to commercials as suggested elsewhere. 😐 Btw, I would like to see the Bengals win as they haven't won the Superbowl yet, but I think the Rams will win the game 24 to 20.

2022-02-10 06:11:49 +0000 UTCA loser's round is not a good idea at all because it would defeat the purpose of these polls in the first place. I think a better option would be to see the movies with the most votes from poll A and B plus a randomly chosen movie from the loser's round, e.g. put all the names in a hat and then Cassie draws a title. But that only works if Cassie wants to see 3 movies.

2022-02-10 05:34:59 +0000 UTCHow about some SB commercial reactions??? I don't mean the corny, silly ones, I mean the serious ones that are like a 90 second movie.

2022-02-10 04:38:55 +0000 UTCI like anything that mixes it up a bit. If people are worried about overstrategizing, though, maybe a losers round/poll could just be an arbitrary selection of movies Cassie was secretly pulling for or most interested in and wants to give another shot.

2022-02-10 01:09:51 +0000 UTCI certainly agree more diversity would be great, but I don't know if a "losers" poll is a fair way to do it. Polls by nature are a popularity contest and if you add the concept of the bottom half getting the same chance of being picked as the top half, whose to say people won't change their votes accordingly? Right now Vertigo is in 8th place where it practically has no chance. I think it is a great movie for Cassie to react to, so, I make sure not to vote for it and ask others to pull their vote so it gets into the losers bracket. But then it puts Kiss Kiss Bang Bang or All The Presidents Men or Chinatown into the "winners" bracket and now they are out of the running. So others campaign for their fav to be...less popular. Maybe I'm over analyzing this. I will certainly admit to that in my real life. But if there is a "losers" poll, I think the voting will move accordingly since people can vote multiple times and push a "non-popular" movie into the winners poll so that their fav wins as losers, or uh loses and then wins. Hmm.... yeah, I'm over-complicating this. Never mind.

2022-02-09 22:22:03 +0000 UTCIncluding the 7 from the "winners" poll would be pointless I think. I mean if those are included it would be pointless adding any movies from the bottom 8-16 places as they wouldn't have any chance of winning. Given the multi choice format of the polls I think the most likely outcome would be repeating the 2-8 order again. With this idea it was never my intention to replicate the bracket system but instead to add some diversity into which movies are getting a reaction with relatively small work within the Patreon poll system. I know over time once the most popular ones took their turn the less popular ones will have their chances. But I also feel that on the long run it could be better for the channel to stretch out the reaction of the most popular titles instead of rushing through all of them right away.
Gábor Árki
2022-02-09 17:56:06 +0000 UTCI think you would still need to include the 7 movies that didn't win the first "winners" round in some way. Otherwise, a movie that came in second in the "winners" round would get no chance, while a move that came in the bottom 8-16 place would. I know the idea is to get less popular movies a chance, but to exclude a top voted movie because it was fighting with other top voted movies but a movie that came in the bottom 8-16 gets a chance doesn't seem fair. Should be a top winners of the losers bracket vs the losers of the winners bracket or something like that.
Mr Jordan
2022-02-09 16:25:43 +0000 UTCThis 4-vote 'bracket' system is very clever indeed.

2022-02-09 13:22:26 +0000 UTCThat's . . . not a bad a idea. Sort of incorporating aspects of a bracket, but doing things manually, for Cassie, that is.

2022-02-09 12:36:28 +0000 UTCHey, Cassie, do you consider me a perv?

2022-02-09 09:20:08 +0000 UTCCassie, just throwing in an idea here. You are planning to take the top 4-4 movies from polls A and B to a "winners" round. How about making a second follow up poll for the next 4-4 in titles positions 5-8? Kind of a "losers" round. This would spice up things a little as some less popular but still great movies would have a chance getting picked up for reaction.

2022-02-09 06:54:26 +0000 UTC'Glory' a wonderful film with a brilliant cast. Have plenty of tissues on hand for this one Cassie.😪

2022-02-09 01:33:14 +0000 UTCAs an Irishman, the accents in Far and Away are offensively bad, Tom's in particular. Genuinely makes the film unwatchable for me but I think Cassie will like it.
