But be careful: the fight scenes are some of the most intense in the Rocky series. I'm not sure which version you should watch: the original version is good but the newer version is a little more cohesive. But, I think anyone has to experience the robot at least once!! ๐๐คช

There isn't usually some kind of check to see how many people own a movie like Maverick or Pretty in Pink or anything else the audience might not be assumed to have on-hand. Like those films, the DC of Rocky IV is widely available to rent on digital services for $4.

So I don't know where you got "so millennials could understand it better."

It cuts out ~40 minutes of the original footage and adds roughly the same amount of new material (cut footage and alternate takes). Cassie has to choose between seeing what may well be an improved version of the movie or reacting to the classic version which is what nearly everyone is familiar with.

2022-01-23 07:21:54 +0000 UTCI must admit that I am also biased by the fact that 1) in its theatrical form, Rocky IV is my least-favorite entry in the series and one of my least-favorite sequels of all time, and 2) I haven't watched the DC yet, so this would be a great opportunity.

I still think this is more of a worthwhile consideration than DWW because as you discovered, DWW wasn't Costner's preferred cut, whereas the new Director's Cut of Rocky IV fixes things Stallone has wanted to correct for decades.
