Cassie

Should be working now, sorry about that!

Cassie

Good call; it seems to work in Edge

Odd Thomas

The last one ("Download this full reaction") works for me. Maybe try a different browser.

Grad

None of the videos will play :(

Odd Thomas

Too bad Disney blocked the reaction on YouTube.

Ian Cano

I don't know if this has been commented on, and I've never seen anything official to say it's true, but instead of the regular Christmas Carol where "old Marley was dead", instead "the Marley's were dead". My theory is that the name for the 2nd Marley is Robert, or Bob, as in the singer. It may or may not be true, but it sounds good.

Mark James

^ yes...must watch...makes sense with the final "The love We Found" song at the end of the movie!

Ryan

Yes, A man voices Miss Piggy. Frank Oz!

Kevin Riley

It is also interesting that in the Belle scene, right at the point you said "that is it?" is where Disney made a cut of an absolutely beautiful heartwrenching song. It starts at 1:08. https://youtu.be/r57KXWeXKoY

Kevin Riley

Fozzi, Sam the Eagle and Animal are all voiced by Frank Oz, the same guy who voiced Yoda. So, well spotted.

Kevin Riley

About to click play - I so hope you were able to enjoy and appreciate it!

Jessi

hahahahaha but of course!

Cassie

i love that!

Cassie

haha yes from miss congeniality right?! 🙈😉

Cassie

🤯🤯

Cassie

Its heartwarming to know Jim and Jane's children are carrying on their work.

Grinznmore

I don't know what you saw, but I could see that this movie was growing on her so that by the end she was appreciating it. It's understandable that she was caught off guard at first but since she is is such a Christmas fan this was as good of a segway into the Muppets as can be expected for someone that is a grown adult that didn't grow up with them.

KTVindicare

We need a "Con Man" poll...

Jon Johns

46:35 - "That's it?" That's actually the part where there is a missing song! so it makes sense if you feel that scene passed by without a resolution, even Rizzo crying makes less sense without the song! Even the final song Scrooge sings at the end "When Love is Found" is a reprise of the cut song, which is called "When Love is Gone", so that's another element of the movie that's lost with that song cut out. Either way, with or without the song, this is still one of my favourite Christmas films, and the song "It Feels Like Christmas" (which I'm very glad they didn't cut!) is possibly one of my favourite Christmas songs!

Frank Oz rejoins Michael Caine and Steve Martin in a hilarious remake, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

Sorry this is a little long. but there is SO MUCH that can be said. I would so very much have wanted to watch this with you. i was so hoping you would watch it! Please, please, please...i beg you!...look up more of The Muppets. Jim Henson created it (and was the original voice of Kermit). it started as something for adults with a "movie" called "Sax and Violence". but transformed into a "kids" show (with underlying jokes for adults at times). if you enjoyed this, wether you do a reaction on it or not....please!...watch the original "The Muppet Movie". it was made after the show had already been on a few years. but introduces the main characters and has a wonderful story line (and music...including the ever famed "Rainbow Connection") that i truly believe you will love!! The Muppet Show of the 70's was a comedy variety show with weekly guest stars (including Mark Hammel as Luke Skywalker, R2D2, and C3PO in one episode) and was seen as "controlled chaos" with Kermit as MC (Kermit being the bridge between chaos and order). but it was such a great deal of fun. and if you want to see all the Muppets of the time....look up "A Muppet Family Christmas". it brings all the Muppet creations together (including Sesame Street Muppets, Fraggle Rock, and the Muppet Babies [also Henson created]) for a highly enjoyable Christmas. and Henson has a cameo at the end of it. There are many of us that see the passing of Jim Henson as such a tragedy. he was an amazing man! through the show he taught children so much about acceptance and tried to introduce different forms of culture. I would also highly suggest you watch the George C. Scott version of "A Christmas Carol". it is an excellently done version of the story.

Sensei Dave

you nailed it. yoda is 100% muppet. created by the same team that creates the muppets. star wars actually takes place in the muppet universe. in fact frank oz(yoda) voices a TON of the voices in the muppets thats why you keep hearing him.

rubberkidney

If you've never seen muppets then you should add "the great muppet caper" to your movie queue

DanTheMan

And the scene missing from the movie is the song the girlfriend sang at the breakup, 'when love is gone'. Disney cut it cause they thought it was too heavy for the kids, which I call bull. I watched it as a kid, didn't really bother me. As a kid you're not really processing romantic interactions; I think the executives at Disney assumed kids felt the same way they did, lol.

Nick Shepherd

Could definitely tell you were not into it, lol! That's ok, if you didn't grow up with the Muppets I can see how it would be weird at first.

Nick Shepherd

The Patrick Stewart version is the same way. I love him as Scrooge. So great❤

Katie Jackson

If anyone's interested in learning more about Jim Henson, there's an amazing biography by Brian Jay Jones. It's a very well researched and surprisingly moving book: proof that you can be a kind and generous entrepreneur, as Henson was, and still be immensely successful. A rare public figure that lives up to their kindhearted reputation. And Jim Henson appearing with his Muppets on late-night talk shows is a fun Youtube rabbit hole to go down.

Alex Villarreal

Now you must watch the other muppet movies like the muppets movie original and my personal favorite the great muppet caper

MatthewBrown74m

Yoda and Miss Piggy - Same Voice Actor, Frank Oz

Enterprize

If you think the Muppets were mean about Scrooge's death. I've seen a version from the 1930s, where a washerwoman burglarizes Scrooge's house once he's gone. And laughs about it with two men (who I assume are her accomplices). Because like you said you can't take it with you when you go. But Scrooge (in the future the spirit shows him) being the old miser that he is, probably didn't think to leave a will to Fred. Resulting in strangers robbing the place for his curtains, bedsheets and his silverware.

Phillip Ribbink

Oh, and that town you were reminded of? That lake town from the Hobbit? Yeah, it's called Lake Town. LOL.

Kathy Ice

"You never see the legs, just like mine" adorable :)

Dioskur

I like how she pointed out Yoda, because Frank Oz is in this movie, lol.

Mr. Killeverything

This is by far my favorite christmas movie, and my favorite from the muppets. It's interesting to see someone entering the world of the muppets for the first time. I grew up with them. Each of them fit so well into the story, especially Gonzo as Charles Dickens. I saw this in the theater and I've watched this every year since.

Negative

I love that you only know Michael Caine from Cars 2 lol, not the batman series or prestige, but Cars 2. hahahah

Daniel Fowler

Believe it or not, this version has been a favorite of Dickens aficionados for years. Look on YouTube, and there are a number of videos about the historical details and how it captures the overall feel of the book so effectively.

Texas Anla'Shok

I love the muppets, and I love the christmas carol story, so this was a real treat to watch. Thank you :)

Katie Kooleyes

If you liked this one I think you would love Muppet’s Treasure Island :) lots of fun

GamerGal8684

To be completely honest, I think Muppet Treasure Island is better than Christmas Carol. The songs are infinitely catchier

Daniel Muzi

I would VERY much recommend the 2011 Muppets movie.

Greg McDaniel

I always joked that the muppet show was like a kid version of SNL. Definitely a staple for me growing up.

Amanda Logsdon

Its funny you mentioned Yoda. Jim Henson helped create him. Yoda, is in fact, a Muppet. He is also voiced by Frank Oz, who also does the voice for Ms. Piggy, and many many others. I find it a great shame that the song by Bell was cut out. One of my favorite character and music moments is when Scrooge joins her in a duet. I've always found it quite touching, and as someone who has stuck out on love many times, is equally personal. The ending is a call back to it. Instead of "the love is gone", now its "the love we've found."

JORDAN HANSEN

my favorite is the 1938 christmas carol

Mike Lipke

I hope you react to Muppet Treasure Island in the future. I think it's the next best Muppet movie after Christmas Carol. Tim Curry is the best.

Nathan Bishop

"The guy who played Scrooge" That's Sir Michael Cain; Cassie! That man is a legend of the screen!

KTVindicare

Please watch the 1984 version

Caleb Harvey

Definitely should check out earlier Muppet movies and their variety TV show.

Mr Jordan

Also, there used to be Muppets at Disneyland - they had an awesome 3D show. But it was closed a few years ago to make way for Frozen stuff. Not my favorite decision the parks have made. 😒

Robin T

Really want classic Muppet reactions now. The original films, the og series. Just so you have some context and can appreciate them as characters.

djKENTO

To clarify the business history- The Muppets are a Disney acquisition (like Star Wars), and partnered regularly with Disney prior to that (again, like Star Wars), but were independently created and owned by the Jim Henson company until 2004. In addition to The Muppets, Henson's studio is responsible for designing the monsters on Sesame Street, and just about every special effects puppet from the 80s and 90s, from Little Shop of Horrors to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Original Muppet performer Frank Oz, who plays Miss Piggy in this movie among others, is also the original voice and puppeteer of many characters such as Cookie Monster and Yoda, as well as a successful live action director. The 2011 Muppets movie with Jason Segal is a pretty good introduction to the Muppets proper - that is, what they are when they aren't playing other characters like in Christmas Carol or Treasure Island. If I knew you had such little familiarity with the Muppets, I'd have strongly advised watching that first. For advanced credit, check out Henson's creepier side with The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth.

Robin T

Also, all those guys that sound like Yoda? It's because they're Yoda. Also, Miss Piggy? Yoda.

Godzilla Jones

Watching you experience the Muppets for the first time is so beautiful. I hope you watch other Muppet movies. Jim Henson was a special person and his creation is special.

Godzilla Jones

It was cut from the theatrical version because they didn't think kids would like it, which Brian Henson didn't agree with. Seems most home media versions don't have it either, though it's probably included with the special features. Really dumb decision imo.

Jay

This should be fun, I look forward to having 'Thankful Heart' stuck in my head for the next 2 weeks. Just found out this film was released on my 5th birthday:)

Jay

I don't know why most versions have that "When Love is Gone" scene removed. It's a heartbreaking scene where we really see Scrooge's remorse for how his greed and ambition resulted in him losing the love of his life. And the reprise at the end with "The Love we Found" is much more powerful and meaningful when that scene is included.

Nathan Bishop

No lie this is one of few christmas movies I actually like and that's because Is IS the Muppets. Jim Hensen was such a genius.

KTVindicare

My favourite muppets are Grover and Cookie Monster.
