Scrooged - Full Reaction

Comments

I was two or three years ago since I have seen this movie. I saw it a lot as a kid either my mom or someone always watched this movie. But I laughed so hard at this movie like I was seeing it for the first time. I loved the ghost of Christmas Present. She was my favorite. This was a more dark comedy like version Christmas Carol. Carol Kane who played Ghost of Christmas Present would later be in Addams Family Values. The part where Frank Cross tells the waiter I thought you were Richard Pryor, that was a reference to when comedian Richard Pryor was high on drugs and set himself on fire. There were a lot of familiar faces of different actors that were more well known back then in the 80s and early 90s. The guy who played Ghost of Christmas Past was Buster Poindexter of the New York Dolls.

My three favorite Christmas Carol movies: Muppet's Christmas Carol, 1951 Christmas Carol, and this one. Not a kids movie yet somehow it's a childhood favorite. Probably someone in my family watched it all the time. I have lost a lot of respect for Bill Murray after Geena Davis revealed harassment from him years ago while working on a movie. There have been many different other stories too.

Redrum Sacrament

I've started watching Christmas movies early this year. This one is definitely one of my faves!

Stephen Dias

Oh that sucks. Its not there, and it's Christmas.

Steve

Next to Groundhog Day this is my next favorite of Bill's I never get tired of watching and laughing at this. Great movie! Thanks for the reaction. Love it. :)

Wendy

What I notice about Bill Murray movies is that he usually selects a character who has a moment of enlightenment, but he "Bill" plays it off so subtlety that you can't identify exactly when he had that moment of enlightenment. For example in Groundhog Day I think his change of heart, his moment of enlightenment is around when he says the line "my you're an upbeat lady." In Scrooged, I don't know the moment exactly. Yes he was glad to be alive again but when he turned before that, I didn't pay close enough attention. In The Razor's Edge... Wait, going back to Scrooged it might have been when Karen Allen repeated his own words back "scrape them off..." So what's common is it was love that changes him.

Em McG

you ought to check the playback speed is at 100% or normal.

Em McG

I'm still laughing, I just watched the full reaction to Scrooged. Every minute is a joke just about. When I heard that cracking voice I was like, isn't that Bobcat? He so funny. LoL this was full of television references - hey it's Lee Majors, you know The 6 Million Dollar Man! LoL. And so many big names, hey she was in an MCU movie, oh it's Buddy Hacket! hahaha... um, Carol Kane, and wasn't that Charlie in Charlie's Angels? Anyway I think it may be hard to get the references for many people and thus many of the jokes as well.

Em McG

Did anyone experience a syncing issue with Scooged? I’d perfectly sync it only for it to creep out after 20-30secs? With no visible buffering happening. Not anyones fault, but it was really annoying. So just curious to know if anyone else had the same issue…

Biggman83

It was as fun as you might think seeing this in the theater when he was talking to the audience. Everyone went nuts when he started doing that. It was great!

NinjaMidget

that's one thing I love about this, you guys give me ideas to watch movies I've never even heard of!

Ann Peterson

Glad you enjoyed it.

Tony Pawlak

a nice thing about PiB's reactions is me getting to see good movies that I'd never thought of watching again. This is an example. Plus, it's fun with her commentary to go along with it.

ron young

Scrooged, and Bad Santa, my two favourite Christmas movies ever. Loved this.

Stephen

Definitely a contrast in good versus miserable spirits wasn't it? As to the movie, it was enjoyable and it's always fun to watch somebody discover these gems.

Michael Labs

That nexus guy got me all riled up, he really didn't have a clue did he. Luckily this reaction got me right back into a better spirits. A flawed movie perhaps, but it did get the spirit bang on and Bill Murray did the rest. Hard to see anyone else pull that ending off but him. Great kick-off to the x-mas season. Have a good weekend everybody!

Rewatching SCROOGED through your eyes reminded me of just how deeply strange this movie is. The tone is all over the place (jokes about the Kama Sutra?!?) and some weirdness happens without any explanation (the hallucinations in the restaurant). However Bill Murray singlehandedly picks the movie up and carries it across the finish line with that final extended monologue scene, that alone is worth the price of admission for me. I remember sitting in the theater through the credits and EVERYBODY was singing along to the end credits song. A really happy Christmas memory for me.

Patrick Flanagan

Love Bill Murray. He is so beloved all over the world. I can't wait to see your reaction to die hard was is considered one of the greatest action movies of all time. When you get to predator just know that there is some language that will shock you and just remember the time that the movie was made in. People weren't shocked by certain derogatory language like they are today.

haha i was told i looked like a wreath, i’ll take it 🎄

Cassie

awww this made me smile, thank you!!!

Cassie

Saw this when it first came out and didn't think it was that funny or "Christmas-y". Bill Murray was doing his thing, but not something I ever thought i would watch again. So, I watched it for the second time with Cassie and it's like a different movie. This woman is a treasure.

Mr Jordan

Sadly, she has seen Gremlins. I was hoping to watch her meet Gizmo and the gang some day. Love that film (I think the 2nd one is even better).

Jay

Genuinely gobsmacked at one of the patron’s comments on here. Some people’s sense of entitlement never fails to amaze. Anyway, I loved this movie growing up. This and “Gremlins” were my holiday horror comedies. Keep up the great work, Cassie. I hope one bad egg hasn’t spoiled your day.

Wes Stewart

Never really liked Scrooged but it was fun watching with you.

nick bell

This is in my top 5 Christmas movies and in my top 100 movies of all time.

Colin Gutierrez

Ooh, I know what i'm watching tonight!

MAFAL

Your hair band is cute. As always you are a ray of sunshine.

Steven Ashford

Cassie thanks for all the great content.

Gideon James

I'm no expert but I believe it is a copyright violation if you use an artist's work for commercial purposes without them being paid, regardless of what platform you distribute it on. I appreciate doing "business" with individuals who are ethical. I would expect no less from a mom who wants to set a proper example for her children and believes individual character matters. Whether the service is to your liking is your decision, but it's not reasonable to ask someone to steal for you. Now for my shameless plug, Scent of a Woman on the schedule. I already have the money saved up for my copy.

Grinznmore

@Nexus I love how you are complaining about something that is disclosed in the information for the tier required to watch full reactions with Cassie. This means either A). You were not paying attention, which is entirely your fault, or B). You did see the disclosure, and joined anyway so you could attack the creator and community. Either way, you seem to be a pretty toxic individual, so doors on the left and don’t let it hit you on the way out. Enjoy watching all of those other creators who post reactions on Daily Motion or Google Drive, none of which you seem to be supporting at the moment. Bye! 🤪😜🤡

JediLounger

Guessing you didn't pass many spelling exams in the penitentiary .

NEXUS

One of my top 3 Christmas movies.

Yaisu

Haven't insulted anyone snowflake, get a grip

NEXUS

You get copyright strikes if you watch the content on here, most upload to proper clouds like Google drive, or at worst daily motion where you don't need to worry about anything as its a private entity and not for broadcast on public places like patreon, the issue is cassie using Vimeo, they are causing it, other upload sites would not be an issue, thousands do this Guessing no one cares about the method used here and all can carry on, I wont and cancelled my membership here for Popcorn,i wont be the only one baffled by this and it will put others off supporting Cassie, its for who ever manages this channel to adapt and actually spend money investing in its future,it earns over $15000 at present but could get so much more, its a job not a hobby and i myself would not trewat backers this way and give them all avalibale option,i literally have backed loads here and they all had at minimum 4 option of how to watch. Plenty more to sponsor here where there isn't this issue and imperial entanglements. Good day

NEXUS

NEXUS: It looks to me like someone needs a hug. Just sayin...-James

james flack

Nexus don't insult Cassie like that. Just don't do it...

William Bryan

@Nexus, you should re-think your post. It could have ended after the first sentence and one of the lovely patrons would be happy to explain that you need your own copy of the movie to watch the full reaction. You can receive copyright strikes on Patreon the same as you would on YouTube. Other movie reactors care much the same. You obviously joined because you like the content you’ve seen on YouTube. Sorry you feel it’s not worth paying for, that’s up for you to decide. Good day to you.

Mark M

it's one thing to offer some constructive suggestions, another entirely to whinge and be insulting,

BJ Stephens

OK so ive just started backing Cassie, why are all the movies blurred? ive never seen any patreon blur there reactions or them using Vimeo as its the worst for copyright issues What is the point of paying money and you cant even see the reactions? Someone please inform me if I'm missing something as ive never seen this before. With any of my other patreon ,why do we need to buy or rent a copy of a film just to see these reactions. You really need to spend some money and use a better service to upload your movies as you get thousands of dollars from patreon each month, google drive is by far the best option, this is crazy and to be honest is the worst patreon ive ever backed if this is how the reactions are presented ,its mental. Will be cancelling instantly as this is the biggest waste of money, you have to rethink how you post reactions and its going to be the same for many people who think the reaction's are available to view without burred versions or having to own the film.

NEXUS

This or Goundhog Day, agreed... depending upon the holiday (if you want to call Groundhog Day a holiday, that is).

Art of Free Speech

Groundhog Day is way WAY better than Scrooged.. no comparison.

Johnny

What a weird movie lol 😅

Snapjaw

Did you catch that that is Marion from Raiders of the Lost Ark? Karen Allen just had a thing about her, charisma, cheekbones, I don't know.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

This was one of the first movies I got to watch in a theater on my own with allowance money for doing chores 😆 the matinee cost 3 bucks. Couple friends went with me, I had only seen Bill Murray in Ghostbusters before this, now I've seen all his movies including Broken Flowers (movie had no central point but I loved it, and Bill is perfect in it, he's the point). He could be a zombie Lost In Translation, wouldn't matter, he's a national treasure. Also, the Ghost of Christmas Past is played by the singer of the notorious New York Dolls.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

I was surprised this won - I had no idea it had such a fanbase. After thinking about it for a bit, I think the reason I'm surprised is that Groundhog Day is essentially the same story (charismatic jerk saved by supernatural reevaluation of his life) but better. So I wonder: what itch does this scratch for people that isn't better served either by more faithful adaptations of Dickens' story or by Bill Murray's superior take on the concept in GD?

Robin T

Possibly my favorite Bill Murray movie! Yeah!!

Mike H
