Here is what’s coming up this week, going to be so fun! I’m going to put up a quick 48 hour poll tonight to pick a Christmas movie for me this week (hopefully with Carly)
We are still working on that Dune edit, sorry it’s later than planned but it’s turning out to be tricky. Although I know it’s technically nowhere legally on the internet again until December 3rd.
Ok we are going to be having another LIVE on YT on December 11th at 2pm, some more Q&A and opening packages, love getting to interact in that way with you all, we should do another patreon only one on discord again eh?
Ok I have a couple questions, just if you feel so inclined, with the end of the year only a month away, I am reviewing things and would love suggestions on how to make things better for you on Patreon. Did you like the brackets? or prefer regular polls? The last week we tried to give you the YT edit a day early on here as some patrons expressed they are here to support, but don’t do the watch-alongs and would like early access to the YT reactions.
I am trying so hard to keep up on messages but then get behind on interacting in comments on here, which do you feel I should prioritize? (I’m hoping to get a more regular babysitter soon so I can do both better)
I know I can’t please everyone but would love to hear your thoughts.
You guys are the best, I can’t believe we surpassed 2k on here, was a big goal of mine, I of course, owe it all to you and thank you BUNCHES OF OATS!!

I didn't spot one, so whenever I was going through the pairings I felt bad when I came to ones I didn't know, therefore wasn't worried about which won that, but still had to pick one, which I did randomly. This surely skews the vote for people passionate about a movie pairing.

2021-12-01 03:33:29 +0000 UTCI suggest not using brackets anymore, since I've seen people talking about how they can vote more than once, and anyone with a link can vote in them. Let's just stick to polls. Basically, you could have 16 movies in the poll, then take the top 8 for the next poll, then top 4 for the next, and so on. This would prevent jerks from manipulating the votes in any way and would keep it to Patreon members. It would also mean that a great movie won't be eliminated in the first round simply because it had a tough matchup. Maybe a movie could have ended up getting runner up, but with a bracket it could be gone in the first round.

2021-12-01 00:50:43 +0000 UTCI just thought of something Cassie. Do you need a master list of all the movies that have been suggested that stays up all the time for all your patrons. Because all the new people don’t know what all movies have been on the table. Maybe break it up by genres and allow the new people to continue to vote on this master list and as the movies get watched you pull them off the master list. And of course you continue to do your polls and your brackets. Just a thought.

2021-12-01 00:28:06 +0000 UTCPolls vs brackets- OK so I've heard from the comments that the brackets can be accessed by people from YouTube and aren't 100% exclusive to us on patreon. I've also heard it's possible for people to vote 100+ times with these brackets. If either of those are true then id prefer regular polls that cannot as easily be manipulated. If that's NOT the case then I don't really care, brackets have an increased chance of having really good movies fall through the cracks (if you get Forest Gump vs Braveheart in round 1 then an amazing movie is gonna get knocked out super early) but you do a good job at going back to movies that lost in previous brackets and giving them a 2nd or 3rd shot to win. So as long as the voting is as fair as can be I'm fine with either polls or brackets. The brackets on the plus side are fun.
