New Week, New Update!

Hey beautiful movie lovers!
Ok here is this weeks schedule. The next 2 episodes of Firefly, Streets of Fire ("event" winner pick #1) and Carly and I watched Braveheart and it was the first time I have seen her cry in a very long time!
If you missed the little live we had here last Wednesday, all the patrons here who entered that google doc were entered to win to pick a movie of their choosing for me. It was super fun, it was supposed to be quick but we were having too much fun and chatted for a couple hours! Congrats to Joel who picked "Phantom Thread" from 2017 and Matthew who picked "Streets of Fire" from 1984, I am excited to watch your picks!
If you followed over on YT on the runner up bracket, it is now finished and the final 4 I will be watching are (in order)
1. The Fugitive
2. Predator
3. Rear Window
4. Field of Dreams
I feel great about all these winners (I think...a little nervous about Predator).
I am also going to release a poll this week for "next in a series I've watched" eg. Matrix 2, John Wick 2, Blade Runner 2049, Manhunter etc... They are all so different so it will be a hard choice I think!
I really can't thank you enough for being here, for your amazing comments and discussion and for the support. I hope everyone has a great week!!
AND Star Wars episode 3 will be up in one hour!!!!
Much Love,
Cassie

Now you have to go see Predator 2
2022-07-12 02:10:53 +0000 UTCI realize that. And I ๐๐๐ say that I still like them.

2021-11-18 22:49:58 +0000 UTCLooking forward to seeing you watch Predator. When it was in the bracket poll for sci-fi, it hurt having to choose between that and District 9 (and a little disappointing to not even see The Abyss among the choices at all). But if you could take Aliens, you could enjoy Predator.

2021-11-15 02:24:02 +0000 UTCWell said Stick Figure Studios. I totally agree about Cassie's reactions. So genuine. MY favorite of hers was Schindler's List. Watching her react, all the feelings and emotions I had when I watched it for the first time in the theatre back in 1993, came flooding back. Incredibly powerful. And I totally agree with your recommendations. Two of the all time greats.

2021-11-14 03:42:10 +0000 UTCI tried watching a reaction once (can't remember which one now) to a movie I hadnt seen before and whenever Cassie talked I would lose focus on the movie. So if its a new movie for me I gotta watch it first ahead of time.

2021-11-13 19:46:31 +0000 UTCHey Cassie, I have an idea for the next ra*fle - or we should just call it "The Event" or the PIB Jamboree! NEW RULE IDEA, 1) have everyone come up with their "wish" title recommendation and submit it via form 2) at the event (or PIBJ) you randomly select 2 winner titles from the list - winner names are anonymous Game Rule Reasonings, 1) this allows larger participation, the same process of form submission as in previous game - see rule #2 anonymous winners, this allows folks to truly recommend what they love and not have it be a political selection. It's larger participation because more people are submitting their wish title instead of just 2 sending in their winning titles. Folks can opt out as usual, no worries. 1.5) Secret rule - secretly you are allowed to dismiss 3 titles from the submitted list without telling anyone - the reasoning is that unreasonable suggestions could be made but they're accounted for although not advocated (it's a secret rule) - the reasoning, the purpose of step #1 is to have participation and folks to submit and advocate a title that they truly love but (via step 1.5) they don't need to know that their suggestion was discarded, although in fact if their suggestion was discarded then they know for sure that it "was seen" and acknowledged and hand-picked to go in a special pile on the side. They are not supposed to know about this rule to not encourage wild submissions that they purposely intend for that special pile. 2) you hold a promotional event just like last time where you randomly select 2 winners. You do not divulge the names of the winners, they know they've won because of the title that wins (they could also add a note on the form if they want their name read out loud but this is not as good because if 20 people suggested the same title then all 20 believe they've won! There's a built-in clause that if several people suggest the same title then it will have a better chance of winning in a random draw). When the winner person is not named this also means that they can really submit a movie title that they love without fear of reprisal of being singled out later and shamed for their taste in movies. They will know that their pick has won and they can comment or fess up that it is them who've won if they feel like it later. I think I've covered everything. It's almost the same as last time except there's opportunity that more will join because they've submitted their wish title up front - this also makes them feel that they're being seen. There is more work on your end because you have to make a list of all the submissions and then you need to have someone go over the list to check it or you check it yourself (for secret rule 1.5). But it could also be less work because you don't have to contact the winners, that whole end stage disappears, the work literally ends with the random draw. In the promotion process you can track how many have submitted so far but you don't have to say exactly, just say over 500 folks have joined the game! (This is just in case an unwieldly count shows up then rule 1.5 could be used to manage it.) At the event you use a random number generator to pick the winners and you read the winning titles, you say the winners remain anonymous unless they say themselves they've won (for example in case Citizen Kane wins the person who submitted it isn't ostracized later, hahaha just kidding).

2021-11-13 11:30:16 +0000 UTCvery nice comment and sneaky to put in recommendations at the end =D but good job anyway

2021-11-13 10:02:07 +0000 UTCWow Cassie, I'm loving the coming movie selections. I won't say anything about those titles since they're set in stone anyway, also no spoilers - but yes they're all good. I already watched Rear Window the other day so that I'm prepared, I'm already familiar with the other 3. I wonder if viewers come familiar with the titles or do they also watch for the first time as they playback your reaction. I assume familiarity is what makes it fun though.

2021-11-13 09:58:32 +0000 UTCNice one, I'll check them out.

2021-11-13 00:24:12 +0000 UTCThe same thing happened to me. FYI, @Jay the channel youmethemovies is also good for a deep dive into horror and suspense.

2021-11-12 11:13:30 +0000 UTCAbout a year ago, a friend was telling me that he was addicted to movie reactions on YouTube. I didn't know what he was talking about and honestly thought "WTF, that sounds ridiculous". Then we had another lockdown in January so I gave them a go and here I am now, paying for full length reactions on Patreon:) There are other good reaction channels (I go to Cinema Rules for my Hereditarys and Hellraisers, the kind of films that would traumatize Cassie) but PIB is probably my favourite. The popcorn siblings are just very likeable and get totally invested in whatever they're watching, it's great!

2021-11-12 04:18:36 +0000 UTCI'd say UNFORGIVEN first.

2021-11-11 23:30:21 +0000 UTCI am 45 years old. I worked in an independent video store (owned by my father, one of the first people in the video business) for 15 years. I have watched/loved movies my entire life. I consider myself a very knowledgeable film buff and I never watch reaction videos on YouTube... and yet in the last week I have watched virtually every video on this channel. I love it because it is so genuine and un-pretentious. I love how open Cassie is to discovering new kinds of movies and, as a result, she has now seen some of the greatest Hollywood films ever made. Watching these videos reminds me of when I first discovered these same classics many years ago myself. Keep up the good work... Oh, and definitely watch the first DIE HARD and UNFORGIVEN. :)

2021-11-11 23:22:53 +0000 UTCBraveheart is a fun, sometimes touching sometimes heartbreaking movie. In Hollywood, "based on real events" is a fairly loose term, so just enjoy the ride.

2021-11-11 16:22:32 +0000 UTCIt seems that more and more of the movies being watched are just mediocre. Half I'd never have any interest to watch again or in the first place. Hope the choices get better soon.

2021-11-10 10:36:45 +0000 UTCI'm with you Cassie . Ive not only never seen the winners picks Ive never heard of either Im hoping they are good for both of us ๐

2021-11-10 03:38:28 +0000 UTCThe Fugitive and Field of Dreams are both in my top 25 films - my family watches both of them at least 2 or three times a year.

2021-11-09 16:57:08 +0000 UTCItโs not historically accurate - for entertainment purposes only.

2021-11-09 03:40:45 +0000 UTCI used to love Braveheart when it first came out. Now I think it's incredibly cheesy (although I do like the [highly inaccurate] battle scenes), but I guess I'd still enjoy seeing someone reacting to it for the first time.

2021-11-09 02:59:38 +0000 UTCI'm going to occasionally chime in and recommend The Outlaw Josie Wales. I realize you've got quite a backlog, but I'm hoping others will see this and be like "OOOOO! Yes! Definitely! The Outlaw Josie Wales!!!"
