Hey, here is what we have coming on this week to Patreon! I can't decide for the middle one, should I do a modern thriller that a lot of my friends loved (Invisible Man) or a more "Classic Halloween" movie like Dracula! I'm watching tonight so this will be a quick one!
Thank you all so so much for being here, for your thoughtful comments and kind support :)

Good example of why maybe WE shouldn't have a vote on what movies you react to. Dracula was not a very good movie. The acting was scariest thing about it.

2021-10-11 00:35:06 +0000 UTCWait Until Dark is a great movie that I watched with my mom. It's about a blind woman played by Audrey Hepburn who has intruders break into her house. Made in 1967 this thriller will have you on the edge of your seat

2021-10-05 22:56:04 +0000 UTCAs I commented on youtube, psychological horror seems to be out of fashion with the current generation, Silence of the Lambs being an outlier. Two classics of psychological horror are "Rosemary's Baby" (1968), and "Don't Look Now" (1973). "Rosemary's Baby," based on Ira Levin's bestselling supernatural horror novel, was written and directed by Roman Polanski and stars Mia Farrow and John Cassavetes, with a stellar supporting cast. In 2014 it was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress, being deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." "Don't Look Now," adapted from the short story by Daphne du Maurier, was directed by Nicolas Roeg and stars Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland. Also dealing with supernatural themes, and filmed almost entirely on location in Venice, it has come to be regarded as a classic of psychological horror.

2021-10-05 18:50:11 +0000 UTCHalloween (1978) is al all-time classic, akin to Psycho. I would suggest Cloverfield (2008) as a scary movie that Cassie could still handle. And Cassie, when we suggest that Carly watch with you - it's not that you're not entertaining enough by yourself (though we do love Carly) - it's just that we're worried about you and don't want you to be alone for some of these horror films. I think you could have used company for, say, The Silence of the Lambs, as you were pretty scared watching it alone. ☺
