On a separate note, since all of the last few matches have been EXTREMELY close I've decided to watch the top 4. So over the next month or so, I'll watch be watching:
- Wizard of Oz
- Psycho
- 12 Angry Men
- Casablanca

Also, “9 to 5” which came out around the same time… both films elicited MAJOR reaction to packed theater audiences and would no-doubt do the same for both you and your wonderful channel!

2021-09-13 15:59:58 +0000 UTCFor me it would be a close call on the merits. What made it easy was my thought that she should watch Psycho first, and then watch Wizard of Oz to cleanse her palate. I greatly prefer 12 Angry Men and Casablanca over both, so her decision to watch them, also, is a very welcome surprise.

2021-09-11 03:28:13 +0000 UTCI'd say it's got its foot in a few pools. Overall it's suspense, but it definitely leans on being flat out scary sometimes, in a way Hitchcock had never done before. That said, I mean, she's survived Alien, Terminator, some of the grimmest war movies ever... I have no fear she'll get nightmares. I'm more worried about it being too dry. Psycho is a masterpiece for people who enjoy studying how people think from a clinical distance. It doesn't reward getting emotionally invested.
