When I open my e-mail in the morning and discover, to my surprise, that you have reacted to one of my favorites (e.g., Same Time Next Year, Starman) it is such a wonderful gift. Now I am just one of a hundred thousand plus, but I will nevertheless recommend The Queen's Gambit for a limited series; and for a small series, Indian Summers (2015 - PBS, 20 episodes). Indian Summers is set in India in 1932, during the British colonial rule. It has a good love story, superb acting, wonderful cinematography, and several great character arcs. Oh, I almost forgot, for October, how about Arsenic and Old Lace (1943), a Halloween-themed movie, but it is a screwball comedy, which should give you some relief from the scary ones.
