Forget the poll and just do like Mia Tiffany --- a whole month of Hitchcock! For what it's worth, Rear Window will always be my favorite Hitchcock film After that, hmmmmm....maybe "The Birds"??? I don't know if Cassie could get through that! LOL

2021-10-21 08:03:37 +0000 UTCFor the "2001" fans, I was just watching a young reactor who was so-so about it, but at the end of another reaction she started talking about it. That's what it does. It is like an earworm for the mind. Hard to dismiss, it burrows in.

2021-09-08 01:40:38 +0000 UTCOr Rope!! Underrated!!

2021-09-07 18:33:37 +0000 UTCLooks like it’s Casablanca v. 12 Angry Men.

2021-09-07 15:41:28 +0000 UTCAt least Rear Window won Shan’s poll. And Mia Tiffany is doing a month of Hitchcock- chronologically: Rebecca, Notorious, Rope, Rear Window, Vertigo, North by Northwest and Psycho.

2021-09-07 15:39:10 +0000 UTCAgreed, just do a Hitchcock bracket at some point. Or don't - the winners will be Rear Window and Psycho anyway hehe. Though it would be nice to include something older, like Notorious or 39 Steps.

2021-09-07 15:29:23 +0000 UTCShe just needs to do a Hitchcock poll and watch one.

2021-09-07 14:34:55 +0000 UTCI don’t think a single Hitchcock film made it. That’s sad. Lost in the suspense poll and now this.

2021-09-07 13:26:06 +0000 UTCIt's like a creepy, twisted version of WoO, which is probably why I liked it better than the original, yet I understand why it wouldn't be to everyone's tastes.

2021-09-07 12:08:38 +0000 UTCSad to see "Rear Window" didn't make it. But maybe it will mean she does it with her sister someday. I doubt it will rank high in the Hitchcock brackets.

2021-09-07 12:01:11 +0000 UTCOh no, can I see Psycho & 12 Angry Men in battle for the second time? 🤔💭
Malcolm Slater
2021-09-07 11:03:05 +0000 UTCAgreed. Runtime....3.5 hours vs 1.5 hours. One could watch 12 Angry Men twice in the time it takes to watch Ben-Hur. Simple matter of time savings. =)

2021-09-07 05:00:50 +0000 UTCOpinions vary. Personally I can't comprehend why someone would choose 12 Angry Men over Ben-Hur.

2021-09-07 04:12:05 +0000 UTCEh I'd see a showing of Wicked before I would Return to Oz

2021-09-07 03:39:17 +0000 UTCIf you’re watching The Wizard of Oz, I highly recommend watching the sequel Return to Oz at some point. It’s much more faithful to the original Oz novels, which were famous for being seriously dark and twisted.

2021-09-07 03:18:09 +0000 UTCOmg, has anyone else noticed that Seven Samurai beat North by Northwest in the first round, then lost to it in the losers bracket by almost the same ratio? 🤣

2021-09-07 02:25:01 +0000 UTCOz is just one of those movies for me. I didn't like it as a kid, I don't like it as an adult. I understand why it's a classic, but just doesn't do it for me. But, it's not my channel, so I hope she enjoys it and people enjoy the reaction. I'll eagerly wait for other movies.

2021-09-07 01:11:30 +0000 UTCI had not thought about it as selecting a counterpoint. Oz is famous for using both sepia and color. "Casablanca" has film noir which is a counterpoint. Plotwise and setting wise "12 Angry Men" is so tightly set that it is an opposite.
Charles Mills
2021-09-07 00:26:31 +0000 UTCyeah Carly would like Oz.
William Bryan
2021-09-07 00:20:55 +0000 UTCFun fact- I was the first to comment when Cassie needed suggestions for movies before 1960. I suggested Oz. :D hahahah
William Bryan
2021-09-07 00:18:58 +0000 UTCIt gives one hope.

2021-09-07 00:18:50 +0000 UTCI'll watch. I grew up with it and can't imagine an adult seeing it for the first time. But I'm right there with you on those two plus "Rear Window." I'd love to see her do "Rear Window" with her sister to see them trying to follow the clues as the plot zigs and zags.
Charles Mills
2021-09-07 00:18:10 +0000 UTCIt would be a shame to nominate four Hitchcocks and not have any of them finish. Again.

2021-09-07 00:14:43 +0000 UTCStill want Rear Window!
Catherine LW
2021-09-07 00:12:28 +0000 UTCOz is above all a family film - bring your sister!! Not sure what I want for the second. I've been heavily Team Rear Window, but I'm not sure it's the best counterpoint to Oz. I'll be happy with any of these finalists though.

2021-09-06 23:46:02 +0000 UTCI’m quite astonished Twelve Angry Men did as well as it did.
Texas Anla'Shok
2021-09-06 23:41:48 +0000 UTCI think it’s something everyone should see at least once if for no other reason than media keep referring back to it.

2021-09-06 23:38:21 +0000 UTCWhile Kane is a classic film, it's really only enjoyable at this point by film students and people who really enjoy that genre. I remember watching "The Greatest Movie Of All Time" as my instructor called it my freshman year of college and sitting there asking myself "What the hell is so great about that?" It's like reading "The Lord of the Rings". It's absolutely amazing literature, but Tolkien needs 2 1/2 pages of text to describe a leaf. It isn't exactly an easy read.
Sean Novack
2021-09-06 23:27:20 +0000 UTCI enjoy Cassie's reactions, but OZ is one I'll definitely skip. Hope she enjoys it though. Hopefully we'll get a reaction to both Casablanca and 12 Angry Men at some point.
