All of Me (1984) - Full Reaction

Here is my reaction to All of Me. This was a top tier patron pick, there was an error on my part so it is just being posted now. This movie was a delight and another one of those gems I would have never known about but enjoyed watching. It was a fun take on the body-switch movie and Steve Martin played it so well. I apologize for the muffled sound the second half. I had turned on the window a/c unit for a minute and then forgot to turn it off (face palm).

I hope you all have a great week, thanks so much for being here! πŸ’—πŸ’—

Lily Tomlin played Edwina, she's best known today for her starring role opposite Jane Fonda in the Netflix series GRACE & FRANKIE as well as her recurring role on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, she was a cast regular in several of director Robert Altman's films. Carl Reiner, the director collaborated with Steve Martin on several films on the early 80s including THE JERK, DEAD MEN DON'T WEAR PLAID and THE MAN WITH TWO BRAINS. Reiner also acted in many movies including the OCEAN'S ELEVEN Trilogy with George Clooney Matt Damon and Brad Pitt. He passed away last year. Phil Alden Robinson, the screenwriter, would go on to write and direct the iconic hit FIELD OF DREAMS as well as the terrific 1992 ensemble tech caper SNEAKERS and the 2002 Tom Clancy/Jack Ryan adaptation of THE SUM OF ALL FEARS. Robinson also directed the first episode of BAND OF BROTHERS. Victoria Tennant, who played Terry would go on to date Steve Martin after making this film, they married in 1986 and co-starred again in another forgotten comedy gem: 1991's L.A. STORY. They divorced in 1994. I admit to balking at the moment when you didn't know who Paul Newman was. He is in my humble opinion one of the finest and coolest actors in movie history. He's probably best known today as the voice of Doc Hudson in CARS. But he starred in so many iconic films including but not limited to COOL HAND LUKE, CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, BUTCH CASSIDY & THE SUNDANCE KID, THE HUSTLER and its sequel THE COLOR OF MONEY. He also is the founder of the "Newman's Own" cooking products line, which sales all go to charity.

When I got the notification on my phone about this reaction it said Popcorn in Bed All of Me. So of course my mind only sees "Bed All of Me" and I'm like what the hell? I don't remember that movie at all, but it sounds spicy! Lol.

That was great. I've seen this movie several times growing up. I think it was on cable a lot, It was great to revisit.
