Never Before Seen Chick Flicks Poll
Added 2021-06-12 06:53:33 +0000 UTCHey guys, Pulp fiction is uploading and optimizing and should be up soon. That one was grriiitttyyyy. So I am treating myself to a chick flick that I have never seen. I used to think I had seen pretty much everything but after lots of comments and suggestions I realized I haven't and probably missed some great ones that I turned my nose up to as "old". For example I watched "What's Up Doc?" this month as a top tier patron pick (reaction to come) and thought it was adorable and lovely and I had never heard of it! Help me choose which one to watch!
Ps. Want to know what happened to me last night? Got all ready, started a movie, reacted to the ENTIRE thing and then realized I never pressed record on the camera. DOH!! That one hurt a little, and now it can't be a reaction haha oh well!
Thanks as always to all of you here for the support, I'm so grateful!

OMG, you have to watch Dirty Dancing. I know this poll is over, but | just had to say it. I think I also recommended it before. Oh, and another one I think you'd love is Ghost. It also has Patrick Swayze in it, from Dirty Dancing. I guess you'd call it a romantic suspense with thriller vibes, but it's not a typical romance movie.

2021-06-15 22:36:10 +0000 UTCIn my opinion... Watching Cassie react to movies out of her element (horror, suspense thrillers, raunchy comedies, gangster, etc.) is when it's most entertaining. Watching her react to movies in her comfort zone-- like "chick flicks"-- well... Quite frankly, ehh.... No offense to Cassie of course. 😁 How about some suspense thrillers like: FRAILTY or IDENTITY. You know. Some Hitchcock or some Brian Depalma... Maybe some Coen Brothers?

2021-06-15 11:00:27 +0000 UTCWally Hartshorn - Well, again, it comes down to what you like. I personally would be disappointed if she didn't do the entire MCU, in release order, of course (chronological just doesn't work). I know it's a lot of films, but if she did 1 or 2 a month it would be fine with me. What I don't get is why people would push so hard against films just because they personally don't like them or worse, because other reactors have already done them. Obviously plenty of people do like them and it would drive more people to the channel. I mean I would be fine if Cassie never did any of the films in this poll, in fact most of them I wouldn't bother to watch the reaction to, but I'm not on here telling her not to do them because I don't care about them. That would be self-centered of me, wouldn't it?

2021-06-15 01:03:03 +0000 UTCI agree that some MCU movies could be good to attract attention to the channel. But its seems to me that those channel that starts doing MCU gets clogged with them just because there are so many. There is a niche for being unique and not doing what everyone else is doing too.

2021-06-15 01:02:59 +0000 UTCMy objection to the superhero stuff, aside from the fact that so many reactors have done them, is that there are so many of them. They wind up dominating the schedule. Watch Iron Man, sure, maybe pick a few others (e.g. Wonder Woman, Black Panther), but I hope she doesn't commit to doing reactions to ALL of them. It's just too many.

2021-06-14 19:03:18 +0000 UTC"SPIDER-MAN into the SPIDER-VERSE" won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature-- not that it means much as far as how great a film is supposed to be. Lots of great films have been snubbed. In the end it's just a matter of opinion(s)-- not to mention social stigma.
Mr. Writhms
2021-06-14 07:18:55 +0000 UTCNone - not that winning a Oscar has anything to do with how good a movie is. Only RotK won best picture, when all 3 of the trilogy should have won. The same way that Infinity War and Endgame should have won, also Captain America Winter Soldier and Civil War, at the very least. As far as I'm concerned LotR and the MCU are on par, and both are far beyond anything else in cinema. This is my opinion and don't bother trying to change it, because you can't.

2021-06-13 21:21:07 +0000 UTCEmptysea93 - There's a reason every reactor does MCU reactions, as well as LotR, Star Wars, Naruto (for the ones who do anime - I would like to see more mainstream reactors watch Naruto - hint, hint) etc. - it's because they are big draws and can make a channel grow. So, assuming that Cassie isn't doing this just for fun, it's in her best interest to do the big draw movie/tv series. And as I stated above no one is forcing anyone to watch. When another reactor I watch started GoT, I just pretty much ignored it ( I did warn her about season 8 (no spoilers) - it would be wrong not to)

2021-06-13 21:12:16 +0000 UTCThanks, Chris Bowman. I'd love a cookie. I'll take an oatmeal raisin if you've got any.

2021-06-13 20:42:51 +0000 UTCJack the Narrator - it's okay that you don't like Marvel, a lot of people suffer from that odd deficiency /s. But I think Cassie would enjoy them. and that's why we're here - to see her enjoy movies we enjoy. When a reactor watches a film or series that I don't enjoy I simply don't watch those reactions. What I don't do is expect them not to react to something simply because I personally don't like them.
Richard Maurer
2021-06-13 20:25:06 +0000 UTCSee my problem with the MCU reactions is not with Marvel itself... but the fact EVERY SINGLE REACTOR does them. THey have been done to death. The reason so many of us like PIB is that she is watching films OTHER than MCU.

Texas Anla'Shok
2021-06-12 21:24:15 +0000 UTCOthers that I though of which are not chick flicks but amazing films none the less. Super troopers, The dark knight trilogy (batman begins, the dark knight, dark knight rises), LA confidential, Grosse Pointe Blank, Dunkirk, Platoon, No country for Old men, Snowden, The Social network, Cool Hand Luke, Silence of the Lambs, Mad Max: Fury Road, The hurt locker, Taxi driver, Say anything, better off dead, and I'm sure I will think of more.
2021-06-12 20:11:19 +0000 UTC"Love & Basketball" is also one of the most beautiful and underrated love stories ever. I highly recommend that movie as well. "Before Sunrise" is also amazing. "Crazy Stupid Love" is a fun one too that has more humor.
