Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (Extended Editon) - Full Reaction

Hey guys! Sadly... the end has come. I cannot believe how into these movies I got. I loved everything about all of them. The acting, cinematography and story line are so amazing. The characters were all unique and some of them were SO inspirational (Frodo, Gandalf, Aragorn and especially Sam). Sam made me want to be a better person IRL. That sounds dumb but it's true!

I'm going to be doing some extra content on Lord of the Rings. I hear the behind the scenes is really good. Let me know if there's anything else related I should check out! Those will most likely be patreon exclusive reactions.

And last but not least, thank you for being a patron! I know this trilogy brought in a lot of new blood, I hope you can stick around 😉. You guys are the absolute best - thank you so much for the support.

And now in hindsight, as Aragorn asked, "What say you?"

MertzRocks

R.I.P. Bernard Hill (King Theoden).

Richard Maurer

This is my favorite reaction to any movie by any reactor. Just wonderful.

Richard Maurer

The main problem I see with making Silmarillion movies is that the book doesn't have any real dialog, and Tolkien's dialog is one the main strengths of LotR. So you'd end up with someone trying to write dialog for Tolkien which is likely to end badly.

Richard Maurer

Agree 100%. There are too many bad interpretations of Tolkien's work, up to and including Amazon's Rings of Power.

Richard Maurer

I read the books (The Hobbit + the trilogy) nearly a half century ago while in high school. Didn't retain much, except a few names and some context. I remember using LOR character names for my D&D characters while playing D&D in high school in the late 70s/early 80s. Then, I watched the LOR trilogy movies each once in the theater in the early 2000s. Stunning. For Two Towers, saw it at midnight with a friend, and was blown away by the battle scenes. Then, I watched bits and pieces of the movies when I bought the DVDs for my kids in the late 2000s. But that's it. Fast forward to this year (2023), I streamed the trilogy 3 times and now realize how truly good these movies are. "I go to my fathers in whose mighty company, I shall not now feel ashamed." Giving up immortality and thus die in a few short decades seems too drastic to me, no matter the circumstances.

Clay F

I really hope someone makes a Silmarillion movie. It is like the Bible of Middle Earth. It is the creation and everything that transpired from the First Age and Second Age up to the Third Age which covers the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. Basically, it the complete history of Middle Earth. It would actually have to be two trilogies (6 Movies) to do justice to the story.

Darreld Studie

The Ring wasn't destroyed by happenstance. It finally betrayed itself after betraying Isildur, Déagol and Sméagol/Gollum, Bilbo and Frodo. It stayed far too long with Gollum. Had it kept jumping from owner to owner, Gollum would never have achieved the exceptionally long life he did and would not have been present at Mount Doom to finally destroy it. It is a lesson in vanity and folly and the triumph of good over evil. As for Tolkien's response, it is the only one that really counts and he is the only one who owns the interpretation of his works. He stated that at the point in Mount Doom where the ring was finally destroyed, Frodo was completely spent and could not have possibly resisted the Ring at it's most powerful. No one could have. It was evil Gollum who finally took the evil ring into the fire and destroyed the last of evil Sauron in Middle Earth. But it was Frodo with the aid of Sam who got the ring to the fire. That is the only interpretation of the scene. It is what Tolkien wrote and what he meant, period. All others are misinterpretations of the author's intent and works. All other interpretations are pure nonsense. That is what is basically wrong with interpreting rather than enjoying. Take it for what it is and stop trying to twist what the author says for your own agendas. You will be much happier in the end.

Darreld Studie

Author's don't own the interpretations of their work. How they are intended and how they are read can often be very different.

Myles Away

You should look up Tolkien's response to that opinion. He was pretty firm on it being incorrect.

China Andronicus

the job wasnt to resist the ring. the job was to destroy it.

tc63132

I just realized after all these years that technically Frodo failed. He wasn't strong enough to resist the power of the ring. The ring was destroyed by happenstance. 🤔

Gideon James

(Book spoilers) (Book spoilers) Also to be noted around this part-Frodo never sends Sam away.

My_Cousin_Mose

Haha yeah the last 45 min or so always has me crying throughout. I'm not sure how familiar you are with the books (Minor spoiler for what happens after) but in the appendices at the end of book 3 they give a timeline of future events. You learn that Gimli and Legolas' friendship grew so strong that after Aragorn's death Legolas built a ship to take him to the Undying Lands and he brought Gimli with him. Making him the only dwarf ever to do so.

My_Cousin_Mose

Hi Cassie, another beautiful reaction. I knew how the movie ended, but I forgot how emotional it was. I was crying right along with you and then when Sam picked up Frodo to carry him, or after Aragorn was crowned and he and Arwen see Frodo, Sam, Pip and Merry begin to bow and tells them “My friends, you bow to no one” then everyone bowed to them… ughh I burst out crying again. Well, pretty much the last 45 minutes or so. I remember the first movie when the 9 members of the fellowship volunteered and how Gimli refused to trust an elf, but through the movies he and Legolas became friends. That always makes me smile. Until next time… 🍿

Tara

Well it’s Christmas Eve and I’m alone, mostly by choice, and I’ll keep going on with my tradition of watching The Lord of the Rings. This year I do it for the first time with a reactor and it’s nice. Let’s finish this epic journey!

Seabass

This reaction is why I joined your Patreon! Of course I had to watch your reactions to the first two movies, but this is why I’m here! You’re such an amazing person and I loved watching this with you!

Amanda Whittington

Please let us know when you'll be reacting to the BTS for each movie! This is the second time I'm watching the movies with you, because it genuinely feels like watching with a friend and the behind the scenes are SO incredible. The amount of work Peter Jackson and everyone put into these movies and the practical effects will amaze you. The actors all have really funny parts in them. I also don't think I'm alone when I say I'd watch the commentary versions of the movies with you too. Especially the ones with Peter Jackson and the fellow producers and the ones with all of the actors. Those would be amazing Patreon exclusives! :) Each movie has 3! I know that's a lot, but even just 1 each that you find the most entertaining along with the BTS documentary and extras would be amazing. Thank you for the great content!!

Janet Michelle

Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. Return of the King is BY FAR the best of the series. I loved your reaction when you said "Don't you DARE be the end" because I said those exact words in the theatre when I took my son.

Chris Reise

Please let us know where to find your reactions to the Appendixies, they are just about as good and entertaining as the movies!

Gary Quick

Loved the reaction Cassie! Cannot wait to see you react to the LOTR TV series from Amazon!!!!

Mike Vasconcelos

Spent my weekend getting through these reactions. They have just been so great. TY

matthew

Cassie, I know I'm new to your channel, but I want you to know I really enjoyed watching your reactions to these three films. The Lord of the Rings has been my favorite book since I read it when I was fourteen. I don't know if you have seen it, but if you would like to know more about the man who wrote this amazing tale and created the world of Middle Earth, I cannot recommend the biopic "Tolkien" highly enough. I don't know if anyone said this in the above comments as there are too many to read, but Tolkien himself said that Samwise Gamgee was the true hero of the tale. Also, after Sam lived a long and prosperous life, he also was permitted to take the ship to Valinor. Finally, I will also correct a common misconception. Valinor is called the Undying Lands because it is the place where the immortal Valar dwell and where the Elves ultimately returned to. Tolkien said that mortals who were permitted to travel there did not loose their mortality as Eru Illuvitar did not grant the Valar the power to bestow immortality upon mortals. In fact, Tolkien suggested that a mortal's life would be significantly shortened in Valinor. However, Valinor, being a place of surpassing beauty, wonder and magnificence would make such a sacrifice exceedingly worthwhile.

Quacksalver Extraordinaire

Fun Fact about the books and a comparison to a song of ice and fire (game of thrones) J. R. R. Tolkien In the Lord of the Rings books never described the battles. For the movies they had to write the scenes for the battles because the details just were not in the book. Tolkien would write about the events leading up to the battle, some specific details, for example the battle of Helm's Deep in the second book and how they conscripted all the old men and young boys to fight, but never about the battle itself. He wrote more about the emotion and feelings of the characters before and after the battle. The reason he did this was because he was drafted and fought in WW1 and knew of the emotions of war and how it felt. On the other hand George R.R. Martin avoided the draft in Vietnam Witch people think is why there is so much violence and details of battles in the Game of Thrones books. George R.R. Martin did not have first hand experience with how it feels to fight in a war.

Will Murphy

Probably one of the best,, if not the best reaction,, lol.. I Wish you could have shown the reaction throughout the credits.

Renaldo

The Fellowship of The Ring: "Man, that scene with Gandalf and the Balrog on the bridge is so epic and emotional, I can't wait for her to see it." The Two Towers: "Sam's speech about stories is so dramatic yet so true at the same time, I can't wait for her to see it." The Return of The King: "The road to Dropkick Orc starts NOW!" Don't really have anything all that interesting to say, I stayed up way past when I should have been asleep to watch this. Just that this is probably my favourite reaction to the LOTR series. You were clearly invested deeply and speaking as someone who has seen a few people watch these movies, you picked up on details that a lot of people just miss outright. Very fun time. Thanks a lot!

Derrick C. Shields

That was so much fun watching with you!!! I’m a fantasy nerd since 1980 & was raised on LOTR books & animation! When this came out in my young twenties i saw each film 5 times in the 3D IMAX theater!! When all three extended versions came out on dvd, me & 15 close friends took over a mansion with a hot tub, set up the living room with a wall projector & pro screen, took LSD, and watched all 3 movies in one day!!! We lived middle Earth & had marijuana hot tub session between films. Rainbows were coming off those ugly orcs!!! LOL!!! It was a great revisit to watch the film with you! Thank you for sharing!! I can’t wait to watch another favorite film with you, Aliens 2!!! That’s next week for me! Since you loved LOTR you gotta do a movie react to the late 80’s movie WILLOW!!! It’s AMAZING, full of love & adventure, just like LOTR but shorter. Much love to you! ❤️

ESO_PRIME

Oh my gosh I just found you on a FB LOTR club where someone shared your YouTube videos. I came over from your YouTube channel here to your Patreon to watch the FULL versions of your LOTR reactions and I LOVE the way you discovered these films! They are my absolute favorite films ever and I don't think that will ever change. I am SO excited for you to watch all the extended edition behind the scenes called "Appendices." Definitely make sure you watch the Appendices that came with the extended edition DVDs. The behind the scenes for the theatrical release DVDs are nothing to compare to the Appendices behind the scenes. I literally watch the Appendices as much as I watch the films themselves. I would TOTALLY be here to watch you react to all the Appendices!! Seriously, I would. The Hobbit films aren't that great, but the Appendices for the LOTR films are so much more worth it! I am SO happy you have found these films. They truly are a treasure beyond treasures. Much love <3

Chrissy

I mean for someone who didn't read the books and doesn't know literally everything in LOTR universe, they are still great movies and would love to see a reaction

Tomas S

Also, it is true what everyone says about The Hobbit movies. They are not great sadly.

Darren Gibson

Genuinely the best LOTR reactions I have seen. Love how invested you were! The extended editions have Appendices and there is about 10 hours of behind the scenes and they are incredible. I am sure others have told you this repeatedly. A real highlight is how Andy Serkis actually acted Gollum. Amazing insight into how that character was realised for the screen. I would definitely enjoy seeing you react to parts of the Appendices!

Darren Gibson

That was wonderful! Now, Cassie, please: do NOT watch Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit” movies. They are so bad they have the power to retroactively ruin the LotR movies for you.

Dan L.

I remember telling my dad that it would be cool if they could make a movie out of the books. He said yes it would be, but there is too much story to be told. Peter Jackson did a great job!!!

Mike Terry

I loved your reaction!!! It reminded me of my reaction when I was 12. My Dad talked me into reading the books. And when i got done, I read them again, and again, and again....

Mike Terry

Cassie, if you want to read something a little off the beaten path about LOTR, there's an old webpage I found 10 years ago. If you do read it, remember, these are parodies, but they have me laughing out loud every time I read them.... https://www.ealasaid.com/misc/vsd/ Enjoy!

JRCortez

I love the way you can approach movies you thought were “not your thing” and be so open-minded when you watch them. That’s a rare quality in any person.

Dan L.

I just watched your first reaction to Return of the King on youtube and had to get my ass on here. In case no one has mentioned 2019 was released a movie called Tolkien. It obviously tells a story of J.R.R Tolkien and how he came up with LOTR and his experiences in WW1.

PetriVee

btw when Sam saves Frodo in Cirith Ungol (that Ork tower in Mordor after Shelob, the spider) there is actually a difference between the book and the movie: In the book Sam uses the ring to sneak past all the guards. Thats why in the end he is so reluctant to give the ring back to Frodo.

Naryma

Yes! You ought to watch The Hobbit trilogy! It really brings everything together <3

Jonathan Riojas

I agree, Cassie, you really should watch The Hobbit trilogy.

John

Well if ur interested in more Middlearth stuff u have: Hobbit Trilogy, Behind the Scenes in both Trilogies (as they are fully accessable on Utube I suppose Copyright is less of a prob with them), countless UTube vids of various experts explaining the lore of this Universe (this depends ofc if u want to read books like the Silmarillion urself or rather not)

Naryma

You could do a reaction to Andy Serkis accpeting an MTV movie award. It is quite funny.

Brian McGovern

They are SO emotional!

Cassie

Thanks for being here! And thanks so much for the kind words. This loved this trilogy and am sad that it's over.. hopefully we have some fun with the special features and The Hobbit down the road.

Cassie

HAHAHAHA!! 😂😂

Cassie

I'll have to watch it with Peter Jackson sometime. That sounds like a blast! I'm excited to get into the special features - it seems like there was so much that went into these movies.

Cassie

Thanks for the kind words Henry! I appreciate you being here! Hope you enjoyed!

Cassie

Haha Jay you're the best. Thanks for being here.

Cassie

I will be doing The Hobbit movies, I just don't know when yet. And yes, I'm excited to dive into the special features.

Cassie

Thank you for being here Steve. I really appreciate the kind words. I just can't believe I didn't watch these sooner...

Cassie

I'm excited to jump into it!

Cassie

Aw thanks for the kind words and thanks so much for being here!

Cassie

Those are great fun facts Jordan! Sam was definitely my favorite character!!

Cassie

Ill make sure that's on the list of special features to watch!

Cassie

Thank YOU for joining me, I appreciate the support!

Cassie

My pleasure! Thanks for being here!

Cassie

I'm planning on it! Not sure when yet though.

Cassie

I've heard mixed things about The Hobbit, but I'm pretty sure I will watch them. Not sure of the timeline quite yet!

Cassie

Thanks Tom! I appreciate the support!!

Cassie

😂

Cassie

Thanks for the kind words! I truly loved this trilogy and I hope it shows through these reaction videos! Thanks for being here to join in on the fun!

Cassie

I think so! Not sure of the timeline on that quite yet, but it will happen.

Cassie

Someone mentioned that to me earlier today as well, I will have to check out the credit music!

Cassie

Aw thanks Ed for the kind words Ed. I LOVED this trilogy and am sad that it's over :(

Cassie

I don't have a timeline, but I think I'll definitely watch The Hobbit.

Cassie

That's so great that you've associated fond memories with this trilogy. I thought they were amazing and I'm so happy I watched them. I'm excited to dive into the behind the scenes stuff soon! And I hadn't heard that one about Sean Astin's daughter, that's so precious!

Cassie

REGARDING Denethor - steward of Gondor. Yes he was a psycho as portrayed in the movies. What the movies don't show is he had one of the Palantírs (lost seeing stones - a crystal ball like the one Saruman had). Sauron poisoned his mind showing him the future of Gondor in ruins driving him mad with despair, and Boromir's death finally snapped him to madness. The only way the movie even hits at this is when Gandalf (and Pippin) first show up in his audience chamber and he taunts Gandalf "Do you think the eyes of the White Tower are blind? I have seen more than you know"

TL-Hero

Dear Cassie, wow. just wow. I was given a set of these books for my 15th birthday - a gift from my aunt. Sometime between 15 and 16 (this was the mid 80s) read them and fell in love with Eowyn. Your comment "She just wants to fight" was so spot on. I loved her fire and passion in her heart for those she loved. Also let us not forget this was written between 1945 and 1954. Long before women's lib, or feminism movement - Tolkien wrote her as a strong female being locked away by men who doubted her mettle. And she proved them all wrong. On your Discord I am "In-Love-With_Eowyn" I used to watch these movies with my father every year - he died in 2013. Now these movies remind me of him. I have not enjoyed watching these since then - not until I shared this with you. You made it wonderful for me to enjoy this movie - like I was watching it for the first time all over again. I always get emotional when I watch these. I did my best to keep them in check when I watched it with you - but you finally broke me down when Theodan was dying and you said "He was a good king." Theodan was my dad's favorite character and he always got emotional when Theodan mourns his son, and when he dies in front of his niece. You saying that brought back so much memory of watching this with him. Then you got me again when you sobbed at Sam picking up Frodo. Sam was always my favorite - my true hero in my heart and Sean Astin was so amazing for Sam. I grew up wanting to be Sam, and when you broke down and said "He is a HERO!" I lost it. The one scene in the movies that always affects me the most is when the King tells the hobbits "you bow to no one" and everyone bows to them - and I saw how much that affected you too. But it was the after comments that I am most profoundly moved by. I have never heard anyone say these things outloud that I myself have felt since I was 15, but I know many others feel - you articulated it so well: "this makes me want to be a better person. I want to be loyal like Sam, brave like Frodo, have hope like Aragorn" This is a true compliment and homage to some of the greatest stories of all time about some of the of the most truly inspiring characters ever written. They have been real inside my head for a very long time and it is beautiful to hear you share these same feelings. You are a beautiful person, Cassie and I am so fortunate to have found your channel - the only one I've ever felt compelled to sponsor on Patreon. And I am happy to be among those who admire your channel.

TL-Hero

It was fantastic to join you in this journey. The Lord of the Rings is my favourite series of movies of all time. I saw them all with my Father and it holds itself immortally in my heart. I'm filled with so much joy in seeing you appreciate the films for the magic that they are. There are so many special things behind it, from the cast, their stories together, to Tolkien himself and his inspirations. I know you'll be drowned with facts and stories but I thought I'd share one of my favourites. The daughter of Sam at the end of the film is actually the actor, Sean Astin's daughter in real life.

Miguel M

Great reaction to this legendary series. I hope you move on to the hobbit movies, they are not as great as these but they are still a fun journey back to middle earth with new and old faces.

Rich Cassou

Best reaction to this movie in the entire universe. Cried along with you. Thank you so so so so much. There is a reason why this is my #1 movie of all time. Thank you.

E

Its always wonderful to watch someone new get into these movies, and the story, its a tale that sticks with you long after the credits. (Credits music is a must listen by the way. some of the most amazing songs I have ever heard.)

LordGrailKnight

On to the Hobbit?

Shawn Anderson

This is the first reaction to this trilogy of films I've ever seen where the person reacting actually got it. This was such a joy to watch with you. I'm very glad I got to experience this.

MotoDork

best rom-com ever

John Winter

Tolkien’s friend, CS Lewis wrote of the Lord of the Rings: “Here are beauties that pierce like swords or burn like cold iron; here is a book that will break your heart." Ah Cassie, I was weeping alongside you in this! This film never fails to “pierce like swords”, especially when Sam reminds Frodo of the Shire and carries him up the side of Mt. Doom. And the ending(s)! As Sam exclaimed, “Is everything sad going to become untrue?” we see the reunion of the fellowship, Gandalf’s resurrection, Aragorn and Arwen together, Eowyn and Faramir unite, Sam and Rosie marry... such happiness completes our journey. Tolkien was gifted in languages, creating worlds, and one other more obscure ability: to make the good appealing. You want good to win. You want to see the Shire saved. So many other films and books glorify evil, or the anti-hero. Tolkien makes you want to be on the side of the hero. There are options to watch this with the actors who discuss the film. John Rhys-Davies, who plays Gimli, says of the end when Sam, Rosie and children go inside, “And that’s the great victory for the normal: After earth shattering events, in the end, decency, society, the bonds of family, and babies. These are the proper destiny of men.”

Catherine LW

I was thinking the same thing! Well said.

Catherine LW

Okay, everyone has their own opinion about this, including Tolkien lore experts, of which, I am not, but, here's my take. Why Frodo left... If Tolkien wrote this story, about war, and power, and the power of one person to change the world, based upon some of his own war experiences in Europe... Maybe Frodo, at least at the end, represents, at least a little, those soldiers who could not rejoin society after war due to what we now call PTSD. He knew Sam could, Sam was now married, with children, and slipped right back into life, whereas, Frodo could not. For all the reasons listed above, and more. That's Frodos story, but I think Tolkien was representing the unfallen warriors, who survived battle physically, but not emotionally. Anyway, that's just my spin.

Jon Johns

I truly wish that there was time and space to answer all of the questions you’ve had over the course of the movies, but Tolkien just wrote SO much lore about Arda and Middle Earth. In addition to the Hobbit and three books for the Lord of the Rings, he also wrote the Silmarillion, detailing the creation myth of Middle Earth and the struggles of Men, Dwarves, and Elves against Morgoth, the first Dark Lord, Sauron’s master. After that, he began what are now called the Unfinished Tales, which he died before completing, and were finished and published by his son. A well-read scholar of Tolkien’s works could discuss them at-length for days and not run out of material.

Charles

I enjoyed all 3 reactions. I'm glad i found this channel. Something to check out, on the original extended edition dvd's there was a hidden easter egg on each one. I highly recommend the third one. It's really funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJYJ7qS1xNM

Groovy Reacts

Wow wow wow. This was amazing to watch. This series holds a very special place in my heart. Two Towers was released around my birthday not long after my husband and I started dating and we saw it together, and it was the same with Return of the King. It remains one of our favorite things to watch together. Definitely watch all the special features you can get your hands on. It will give you an even greater respect and awe for this masterpiece. I actually prefer watching the “making of” documentaries and such to the actual movies, which should tell you how amazing they are. Thank you so much for sharing g this experience with all of us. It took me back to my first viewing of these wonderful films. ❤️

Aimee

Good comment. I'll also add that in the books, it mentions how in the aftermath of the War of the Ring Frodo was often very physically ill from all he had gone through. Even in the years after the ring was destroyed, Sam kept a close eye on Frodo and worried quite a bit about his health. For his sake, Frodo would try to conceal from Sam when he was feeling very ill, sometimes being successful and sometimes not. Eventually it just became too much for Frodo, which is why he had to leave Middle Earth. Another fun little tidbit: Rosie and Sam ended up having 13 children together. When Sam was old and Rosie had died, he actually sailed to the Undying Lands himself and was reunited with Frodo.

Joel P

Just to clarify, on top of the wound Frodo received on weathertop by the Witch King, Frodo could not fully get over the effects the ring had on him. He lost the internal battle against the ring at the end when he claimed it for himself, and despite the ring being destroyed he could not fully remove the hold it had on him. The only way he could find true peace was to join the elves at the end on the ship off Middle Earth. You can see this clearly when Frodo gives one of his rare, and his most genuine smile right at the end, this is where the ring finally stops holding dominion over him.

Matthew

The entire series of legolas peeking from behind people is hilarious. https://www.buzzfeed.com/amphtml/ellievhall/13-times-background-legolas-was-the-most-important-part-of-t

Jon Johns

It was SOOO wonderful to be able to enjoy this trilogy with you as if I was watching it for the first time again. Your reaction was truly genuine. I'm so glad you enjoyed it as much as I have for so many years. Thank you!

Logan Sandoval

I hope this project turns out at least half as well as I should like; even then it would be half again what I deserve. https://www.techradar.com/news/lord-of-the-rings-on-amazon

Jay Kawala

Cassie, would you ever consider reading the books? I am not one to demand a book reading, but it is really good. Fantasy in general is great to read if you like this kind of stuff :)

Daniel Fowler

Thank you so much, that is the nicest compliment and I am so glad you could feel along with me how I was feeling and what I took from this series! Thank you so much for being here :)

Cassie

just finished watching along. outstanding reaction video! it was really fun to watch along with your reaction on a separate side screen. this whole kind of content is new to me.

AnotherMachine

This was probably the most profound reaction I've ever seen. Thank you for letting us experience this story once more through your eyes and emotions. <3 (PS: Dominic Monaghan, who played Merry, held his heartfelt speech of gratefulness at the end of production to the crew where he said exactly your words: "You make me want to be a better person." In my opinion, your reaction and heart is truly aligned with what both the production team and indeed Tolkien set out to convey.)

Sindre Kristiansen

Frodo technically died on weathertop when the Witch King stabbed him, it was elvish magic by Elrond that kept him alive, but after the ring was destroyed & the power now gone there was nothing keeping him to middle earth anymore.

Zack

dang... starting off my Saturday with a cry.. just cant resist not crying during these movies.

Alexey Bocharnikov

And this is the end. I finally watched fully this last awesome and epic endless ride. Glad to finally subscribing for Patreon, i was hoping so much about you if one day you decided to watch my holy grail of story, and you don't disappointed. More than that, you overwhelmed every channel than i saw before doing this Trilogy. Like 60 or 70 at least.

Feanór Marils

Now that you've seen the LOTR movies you've gotta check out this meme of Gimli destroying the ring, it's hilarious and you'd understand it now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUrJdsN_-B0

David H

Thanks for this, it was fun watching along with someone who hasn't seen it before. There is a ton of behind the scenes stuff that is great. You can actually watch all three movies with Peter Jackson and others watching along with you and they describe how they made parts as it comes up in the films. There is also a ton of specifics like the gollum scenes and enviroment/costumes that are great. The way they built Edoras in rohan is really cool.

Infinitea

So it's finally here and it's very exciting. Cassie has been my very reactor to LOTR by far and I do so look forward to the finale. Long live King Elessar!

Henry from CO

Thank goodness I wasn't still awake at 2:28 am. Today would be rough... Instead, it's fantastic: I'm so happy to get to watch this

Jay Kawala

Looking forward to the making of videos. And I hope you will do the Hobbit movies as well. Not as good as Lord of the Rings, but still very good. And 9 hours more of Middle Earth is never wrong. :-)

Tobias Eiken

Thank you Cassie for your beautiful heartfelt reaction. It was nice to see these wonderful movies from a different perspective, and you gave that to me.

Steve Smith

Fantastic movies indeed, Cassie. Looking forward to behind the scenes material. The original extended edition dvds had loads of it, 2 extra discs filled with documentaries per movie. Many fun backstories about the filming from the cast as well as everything else regarding the process. Some of it is on youtube, but would be great to see the full versions of some of it. So hope you can get hold of that.

AgentFalcon

Not sure if he was actually cursed beyond the ring he wore and Sauron's corruption. There was a prophecy about him by Glorfindel which said: "Do not pursue him! He will not return to this land. Far off yet is his doom, and not by the hand of man will he fall." As with most prophecies it was misunderstood to basically mean no one mortal could kill him, when in fact it was just being specific about how he would eventually die.

AgentFalcon

Behind the scenes suggestions: Bloopers, Cameras in middle earth, cast, costumes, design of middle earth.

So, two fun things with Sam. As far as the film is concerned, Sam is the only being who came into direct contact with the ring and resisted its temptations. Second. Sam's little girl that runs up to him at the end is Sean Astin's real daughter, which makes that moment all the more heartwarming.

Someone can probably explain better than me, its been ages since i read the books so im a bit fuzzy on the details. The witch king was cursed or bound by magic. That is why they said no living man could kill him. Merrys sword broke this magic, which is why she managed to kill him after. The magic wounded them in the process, by stabbing him.

Nothing personal but I wish to cancel my membership.... I've been charged 10.70 for May and that's fine but please let me know how not to be charged any further. ❤ ✌

Thanks for this series, was great. I would recommend the Hobbit trilogy after this, it follows the story of Bilbo and his own adventure including the finding of the ring.
