Hey everyone! Tonight I have a top tier patron pick for you. This was a very beautiful movie. It was different than what I expected from the title and super intriguing by the end!

Man, that was a happy ending. /s ☹️ War is hell. At least Briony came clean -- years alter. Saoirse Ronan is such a good actor, including at age 13. Her nomination for an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role was well-deserved here.

Amazing movie. Utterly heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. Something similar you may like is a film called Testament of Youth, about a nurse during WWI. Kit Harrington from GOT is in it!

I don't know about this movie either, Cassie. I could careless about a happy ending on any film. It's the journey not the destination for me personally. The time shifting kept taking me out of the flow of the film. I consider that lazy writing. You can't have your cake and eat it too and expect a great result. It does happen, but rarely with only the right direction. Everything was flawless except the editing and directing. Which is surprising givin Joe Wrights' track record. Black Mirror's Nosedive is arguably one of its best episodes. Gonna have to watch this one again if only for the Dunkirk long shot.

Cassie, not sure if you check messages on old posts but just got around to watching this one today. The early parts of this movie reminded me a lot of the Downton Abbey series. If you've never seen it I highly recommend it, you'll be hooked and will binge watch it immediately. It's probably not something you'd want to react to on the channel (it's a full TV series) but do yourself a favor and watch it on your own time!

IMPORTANT: If you're in-sync with Cassie's video, there are going to be two moments where you'll lose sync. Follow this guide and you should be able to remain close to sync with Cassie (this should work no matter what platform you're streaming on SO LONG AS your video is in sync with what Cassie is watching): FIRST DE-SYNC Cassie's ON-SCREEN TIMER from 00:21:23:00-00:22:28:00 is when her camera cuts out (it's 22:16-23:21 from her VIMEO time). When she comes back in, you'll lose 45 seconds of sync. It helps if you PAUSE both videos, SKIP Cassie's video ahead by 45 seconds (OR just let her's play for 45 seconds), and then CONTINUE playing both your's and her video. You should be back close to sync. SECOND DE-SYNC Around 1:23:13:00 from Cassie's ON-SCREEN TIMER (1:24:05 from her VIMEO time) is another camera jump, this time by 41 seconds. It helps if you PAUSE Cassie's video and, THIS TIME, let your's PLAY for 41 seconds. Then you can CONTINUE Cassie's video and it should be back close to sync. I hope this guide helps! Happy watching everyone :)

That's been requested a bunch, definitely high up on the list!

As to the questions at about 1:09:00 into the movie, you may wish to watch the movie Dunkirk (2017). It's pretty effective at explaining this portion of the war.

This is one of my favourite movies. The acting is very good

You can yes but I've had to point myself out. Ha. Shame you can't upload pictures here but have comparison photos of the film set and now. The cinema the soldiers were sat in has been demolished sadly due structural safety concerns. In real life it was known as regent cinema.

wow that’s incredible! That scene was so beautiful, along with the rest of the movie! That is so special! Can you see yourself in the film at all?

Cassie

This film is close to home for me. The beach scene was filmed in my home town of Redcar, North East England UK. I was an extra in the film, a soldier on the beach. Remember universal studio signs everywhere. Completely blown away by it all. Never would I have thought Hollywood would come to a small industrialised town.

I watched this film when it came out - it’s very good, although the book was much better. Ian McEwan is one of my favorite living writers and the end of the book blew me away.
