Band Of Brothers Part 9 & 10 - Full Reaction

Hey guys! Enjoy the full reaction to Parts 9 & 10.

This series was full of ups and downs. Lots of sad moments, but I really feel that watching this has changed me. I have gained so much more respect and appreciation for the men and women that have served. If you're one of them, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I'm going to continue down the WW2 road and start "The Pacific" in place of my weekly BoB episodes, not exactly sure when that will begin yet, but I'll keep you updated.

Thanks for teaching me, thanks for watching and thanks so much for the support!

Could you imagine being one of the guys of Easy Company, or any member of the Allied Forces and discovering one those camps and not having a single clue what you are looking at ?

Robert Durant

Edward "Babe" Heffron: "If anyone ever tells you the Holocaust didn't happen, or that it wasn't as bad as they say, no, it was worse than they say. What we saw, what these Germans did, it was worse than you can possibly imagine." "We salute the rank, not the man." Hermann Goering was an early associate of Hitler. Goering joined the Nazi Party in 1922 (when the Nazi Party was nothing) after hearing a speech by Hitler. He was quickly given leadership positions in the Nazi Party. Later, Goering became head of the German Air Force and second in command of Germany at the end of the war. He stole art treasures from across Europe for his personal collection and was sentenced to death at the war trials in Nuremberg but committed suicide before the sentence could be carried out. Thanks Cassie for reacting to this series. My favorite miniseries of all time. My grandfather served in the occupation of German immediately after the war. He brought back a German pistol. My other grandfather served during the war as tank gunner in North Africa and was awarded a medal for destroying a bridge. Then, he landed on a Normandy beach on D-Day. He rarely talked about D-Day, but he told my brother that he could hear bullets whistling by.

It’s one of the most powerful episodes of any TV show I’ve seen. Some of the concentration camp actors were terminal cancer patients who died before the episode aired. Another extremely impactful movie on concentration camps is The Grey Zone from 2001. Really tough watch but really important nonetheless.

There's a video on the making of Band of Brothers. Fascinating.

"how did they make this?' re-watching this with your reactions made me realize its just incredible how well the production design and special effects were done. Especially for 2001.

Way to jump into something and make it entirely about something else. This is not about partisan politics or crazy conspiracies. This is about the men of Easy Company and the brave men who fought WW2.

Andrew Nyberg

"They didnt know they were doing this to the Jewish people?" Nope. Most, and the worst, camps were in Poland so they were liberated by the Russians first and they did not relay that information to US front lines. Very few camps were found on the Western front. The camps they did liberate were merely small work camps. The big extermination camps were all on the Eastern lines. It wasn't until after the war that the full scope of what they had done became known. Whats even worse is the majority of German soldiers had no clue about them either. Only soldiers stationed at the camps or the ones privilaged in the SS actually knew about the camps. Im sure there were rumors among the men just like there were rumors among the US and Russian troops, but nobody actually knew the extent.

I served in Iraq in 2003. It was an honor to serve this great nation and I would do it again if I could 🇺🇸

Such an important series. To have a slight understanding what is impossible to explain. So important.

I know this came out months ago, but after this you might be interested in watching/reacting to a couple things. The first is a movie, a classic courtroom drama about the post-war trials of Nazis, "Judgement at Nuremburg". The other is an extroadinarily professional 15-minute youtube video that perfectly puts into scale of the war, "The Fallen of World War II".

JXTN

"Glory, glory what a hell of a way to die" (song the guys are singing when leaving the German town) is a cadence that was still being sung in airborne school, 2009. We sang it most days when running to wherever.

Brennan Shippert

Irian refuses to admit it was happening and they backed the Germans, and now, Today China is doing the same thing and worse they are harvesting organs from living interned prisoners' but the MSM is ignoring it, Disney even filmed Mulan right by one of the camps. Biden and the Democratic Leadership have dun all they can to keep it out of the media. Now something almost as bad is beginning in this country. One Party taking sole control and calling for the "Reeducation of those that do not bend the knee. Welcome to Germany 1930s.

As a veteran and a teacher of history watching your reaction and how it changed you has been a great honor. I have dedicated my life to the remembrance of such men, to include my father, and all my uncles who were World War II veterans. Your compassion and the siz20 ye of your heart seems limitless although during episode nine I had a desire to hug you when your humanity overwhelmed you, as I would hug my 20 year old daughter.

The Pacific, though strong and engaging, and possibly more gritty and authentic, doesn't hold a candle to this series in terms of emotional impact and connection to the dynamics of the characters. As your experience showed, Band of Brothers is the greatest mini-series in the history of television... most critics put it at the top (along with IMDB). I don't know if it'll ever be topped. I remember watching it week by week when it came out. I was living in my fraternity at the time and every Sunday about 30 of us gathered in the formal room to watch it on the big screen television. It was truly a bonding moment.

You should really watch "The Imitation Game", it's a great movie about breaking the enigma code.
