What Should I watch next?

One movie I'd like someone react to, don't even think there's a single reaction of it on YouTube (?), that's The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. Such a great movie.

for me it would be Goodfellas and Casino. Or Untouchables. But only 1? DEFINITELY Goodfellas. Its one of the best films of all time.

I actually envy anyone seeing any of these movies for the first time. There is no shame here. 😊 And I would have to say "SCARFACE" if I had to pick only one. Al Pacino's performance alone makes this movie re-watchable for me. Not to mention Brian DePalma's (the director) style-- making a gangster movie into almost a suspense thriller with the moving camera work and ominous music.

Between Goodfellas & Scarface for me. Goodfellas has an iconic pairing of actors who’ve made several movies together and is based on a true story. It’s a must-see at some point. It’s scary good. Scarface is iconic and also very loosely based on Al Capone. There are less reactions to Scarface, prob bc it’s older, so that’s my pick. Both films leave a lasting impression.

I'm so curious about that one, and from your description seems like one I would love. I want to look it up but don't want to spoil anything! I'm adding it to my watching calendar soon. I have no idea what to expect with Airplane but I'm hoping it's a bit like Groundhog Day!

LOL -- no votes for my suggestion, Barefoot in the Park. It's old, no one has ever heard of it, and the other films on this list are pretty amazing! I didn't even vote for my own suggestion ! ;-) Airplane is a great choice, it's absurd, funny, old, clever, weird, pun-tastic, etc etc. I voted for Eternal Sunshine, because it too is absurd, weird, etc, but it's got a BIG heart, and reaches out beyond it's genre to an emotional state that exists in all our hearts.

LOVE Fried Green Tomatoes.. but Airplane! is a comedy classic and figure you need a good laugh after some of the heavier material you've shared recently.

Airplane would be a nice change of pace for the next film. If you are interested in watching another war movie in the future, I would probably recommend either Hacksaw Ridge or Glory instead of Fury. Both of those are based more directly on real people and events, while Fury is another fictional story set in the middle of WWII like Saving Private Ryan. Of course, if you have the time for a miniseries, Band of Brothers is probably the best choice out there, as was discussed in the SPR comments below.

This is a nice poll. For the next poll, can we add THE FIRM (1993)? It’s a perfect popcorn flick. Adapted from a book, it has the rare distinction of changing the ending and having even the author say it was better.
