Update!
Added 2021-03-11 16:35:21 +0000 UTCHey everyone, sorry for the lack of posts - had some sick kids the past week. Just wanted to update you on what's coming up next.
I hope to have the full reaction to "Gladiator" uploaded tonight (won't be until late though), YouTube version this weekend. I also started watching the mini-series "Band of Brothers" which I hope to upload an episode weekly (mid week) starting next week.
I'll add another poll this week for the next movie reaction.
Thanks so much for the support!

Yes. We are old griizzly vets. We are numb to the action. not the deaths. But you Cass. I don't want to see you lose that innocence. It's so genuine and raw. Don't watch too many War films may leave you jaded.

2021-04-01 05:04:15 +0000 UTCI agree with this ☝️-- also... Saving Private Ryan is intense, and I think meant to be. In 2-3 hours you have to love these guys in order to feel the loss when they die. In Band of Brothers (BoB) though, we get to know the characters over a longer period of time, we have time to emotionally process things, and the real soldiers interviews provide great context and truth to the story. I love this series, it really does reflect a lots of stuff I remember from my own experience, too, like the training, barracks life, and hurry up and wait that most soldiers spend their entire careers doing on a daily basis. The "Action" they see is intense, but not like the 2-hour heavy breathing from Private Ryan. I'm excited to rewatch it with you all!

2021-03-12 16:36:48 +0000 UTCSince watching 1917 and then Saving Private Ryan, I can't stop thinking about it (a sign of a great movie I think) and feel inspired to learn more. So many people recommended Band of Brothers after SPR so I thought it would be a good way to see more. It is very hard to watch, but I feel like I'm lifting my veil of ignorance! Thank you for your service, I have more respect than ever for our soldiers

2021-03-12 02:07:48 +0000 UTCI am curious, why all the WWII stuff? It seems so upsetting to you? I love that stuff, but, I'm a former soldier, and an old man... I feel so bad for the trauma it puts you through, but I also enjoy re-experiencing it through you. Thanks again for your emotional availability, and great commentary!
