What happened to the video? It says it does not exist.

Still have electric chair as an option for execution: Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee. Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma. "On the day of my judgment, when I stand before God, and He asks me why did I kill one of his true miracles, what am I gonna say? That it was my job? My job?" The last execution by electrocution in US was in 2020 in Tennessee. --The inmate chose electric chair over lethal injection because of recent problems w/lethal injection. The last person to be executed by electric chair without the choice of an alternative method was a woman in 2002 in Alabama.

Still think Bruce Willis couldn't be in a movie this good?

Tom Hanks is my #1 of all time! He is not only an excellent actor, but a great director, and a fantastic writer! He wrote the movie That Thing You Do! It was his debut as a writer AND a director... and he plays one of the bigger parts in the movie, too! He wrote some of the songs in the movie and helped write much of the rest of the soundtrack, He even started his own record label, named after the one in the movie, called Playtone Records! This man is crazy talented! He has been in every kind of movie, but his family is his greatest achievement. His 4 kids, and his wife Rita Wilson! They have been married for 35 years! Now, THAT is talent!!!

The movie makes is a LOT easier to be sympathetic towards Dell.

My_Cousin_Mose

I would disagree, he is a phenomenal actor though.

My_Cousin_Mose

I found that a little weird too....

''say what you will''?? Tom Hanks is a phenomenal human being, let alone actor.......

I love this reaction so much. And I'm thrilled you reacted to one of my favorite movies of all time. Did you recognize the Native American guy (Arlan Bitterbuck)? It was Gram Greene. A big name who played in a lot of movies, including Die Hard 3 and Dances With Wolves. Oh, and John Coffey was played by Michael Clarke Duncan. He was in Armageddon, Sin City, and Planet of the Apes. He passed away in 2012. To answer some of your questions: This movie is based on a novel by Stephen King. It was originally released as a series of novellas that were put out each week, so that readers had to wait for the next installment. Stephen King did this because he liked the idea that no one could skip to the back of the book and see how the story ended. In most parts of the world, the electric chair is no longer used. In some places, it hasn't been used for years. But believe it or not, there are a few states in the US that, as of 2021, still employ the electric chair as a form of death penalty. Most places in the US and Canada use lethal injection instead. Indoor plumbing didn't become common until after 1940. Even after it became more widespread, people in rural or farming communities often didn't end up getting it until well after those in more populated areas. So, since this story's core plot takes place in 1935, and Paul lives in a very rural area, it's historically accurate that he would not have indoor plumbing, while the prison does. The kinds of antibiotics you mentioned, with regards to Paul's UTI, would not have been available to him in 1935. I don't believe they became readily available until years later. I think the stuff he mentioned his doc would give him is an early form of it, but he mentioned it would have had him throwing up and feeling like shit for a week. Interesting thing about that whole analogy the lawyer makes between John Coffey and his dog. In the book, when he's talking to Paul about the dog, he says how his boy used to play with it, sometimes pulling the tail. The connection isn't directly made, but with what we now know about animals, you can tell the dog bit the kid because he was being too rough. It makes the whole thing more sad, the fact that the lawyer shot the dog more sickening, and that analogy all the more horrible. Did you notice something about the cornbread Paul gives John after he makes love with his wife and then sees John's lawyer? Paul's wife said they hadn't gone four times since they were 19. When Paul gives John Coffey the bread, there are four pieces. :D It's impressive that Mr. Jingles is all done with practical effects. There is no CGI. Fifteen mice played the role of Mr. Jingles, each trained to do different things. Likewise, all of the effects used to make John Coffey look so huge are practical. The actor is 6'5, so he's a big boy, but he's made to look even bigger here. They did things like have him walk along an elevated platform, being careful not to show his feet or do a full body shot when they showed his face, constructing a smaller than normal bed to make him look larger when lying or sitting on it, and using specialized camera shots where the cameramen were on their knees and pointing it upward, creating the impression of him being taller. Have to watch the rest of this later and get some sleep, but I'll leave the rest of my thoughts if there any in another comment when I finish.

Raven Dark

What Dale did was he raped and killed a young girl and tried to dispose of her body by burning it. He did it close to an apartment which also caught fire and killed 6 more ppl including 2 children. The native American murdered a guy in a bar fight over a pair of boots and sentenced to death. Just some facts from the book 😉

You couldn't to anything better

Also, side note, its not actually clear what Brooks did in Shawshank. I looked it up, and it isn't confirmed.
