Happy Wednesday, have a Nurgle process post! Here's my step-by-step progression from thumbnail sketches to final, ft. some detail shots at various points of completion, as usual 😊
Rambling time: This image set is def tied with my Kar'niss piece for most ambitious/detailed composition from this year. I might be a masochist. At least, that's part of it, and I'm also eternally a sucker for detailed work. Complexity calls to me like a siren song, and notably, it gets a LOT louder when I'm craving novelty. All this is to say, I'm super proud of how this piece turned out, but it also served a greater purpose by reminding me I'm overdue for a skill level-up. I need a shot to the arm that isn't self-medicating with super complicated compositions 💀💀💀 (I say, as if I'm capable of resisting the urge regardless)
Anyway - I had some really great reflection time after this piece where I went over the last few years of my art, wrote down some artist influences and things to study, set some intentions for future artwork, etc etc, and I'm super excited to put that all to good use. I'm sure I'll have some more bloviating on what I'm learning or trying out for future process posts, so get stoked for more walls of text, lolol 😉

FYI: I have a collection of all my previous WIP previews, process posts, and tutorials HERE!
Also! I shared a detailed tutorial for my overall process HERE back in June 2024, so check that out if you want specific insights into how I work in Procreate! I've made some smaller tweaks to my process since then, so I may do another updated tutorial this year, but the big stages/general approach still applies.
In any case, I’m very happy to answer process-related questions in comments or DM (I like to yammer about art stuff 🤭) so don’t be shy if you’re curious about anything I haven’t gotten into!
