As soon as they arrived Rudy went to get Ruijerd, they then freed the beast kids and Rudy was then taken prisoner by the beast people... hence why he never saw the notice posted at the adventurers guild at Zant Port. They happened to skip that one with everything that happened.

2025-07-14 17:15:23 +0000 UTCThe thing for Paul is he holds Rudy to a WAYYY higher standard that he should ever since he talked back that one time when sylph was being bullied Ever since then Paul has seen Rudy as an adult and as an equal to himself So hearing him talk about the events carefree he spent with "randoms" meanwhile Paul has been risking life and limb for their OWN family just got him over the edge. You can see he is already starting to break and this was just the last straw.

2025-07-14 17:12:45 +0000 UTCIf we stop to analyze it, Rudyβs behavior towards his family might seem a bit cold β like the fact that he asks about Sylph first β but it actually makes sense when you consider his background. Mushoku Tensei is an isekai, and Rudy lived an entire life on Earth before reincarnating. Even though he became a shut-in and distanced himself from others, he still spent many years in that first life, which gives him a much heavier emotional baggage than the time heβs lived in the new world so far. By the time of this episode, Rudy is around 11 and a half or 12 years old. That means he has already spent a long time away from home, especially during the years he lived and trained alongside Eris. So even though he does have a family in this new life, he hasnβt really been around them for a long time β and most of his emotional experiences and bonds were formed elsewhere. All of this makes it harder for him to feel strongly connected to his family. On top of that, he still carries a lot of his mindset and personality from his previous life, including his twisted and perverted tendencies. In short, Rudy still sees himself more as the person he was in his previous life, and that deeply affects the way he interacts with the people around him β even after all these years in the new world.

Sure he could have asked for news at the Guildhalls, and its obvious after the fact but in the moment other things were on his mind (Not beeing able to save that one Demon, getting a ship to cross the sea, etc.). And he is a Child, sure he is a 30 something Neet in his prev. Life, but all of this is new to him.
