I kept fucking up the eyes on my drawings; pupils not pointing in the correct direction, unbalanced size. I was rushing too much, going too lose, so I've just been going back through my favorite anatomy books and doing slower more methodical anatomy studies.

If they are ever so subtly off, suddenly the whole thing just looks...wrong. Given this lewd return to form/practice, you are well on your way to a confident refinement in your art.
