I feel the same way as you. Censorship of sexual depictions is not in the interest of many Japanese. There are various reasons why it remains in Japanese law, and even Japanese people may have different opinions. It may be because of the uniquely Japanese idea that sexual depictions are unclean, or it may benefit some politically influential people who engage in black market transactions. There may be other reasons. I think that Japanese society is intolerant of sexual entertainment, and the repression and frustration it causes are raising abnormal and extreme weirdos. I am one of those weirdos. I think Japanese people should be more open-minded about sex.
