Hey folks,
It's time for a new game progress report.
Disclaimer: I'm posting these to be transparent on game development and show progress done. However, it goes without saying that some of the stuff you see here may be considered to be spoilers. Although I do my best to keep the big narrative points out (and believe me, there is a lot I would like to show but that I'm leaving out for you to find and experience in the game).
This month progress was made on Barb's warrior ash path, getting it closer to a releasable patch for you all to play, Splatter's updated content, and Squeal Little Piggy. Here are the details.

- 3072 AD - "Warrior Ash" Barb route -
Most of the work this month was focused on completing the final patch for Barb.
Which includes a deeper combat system for Barb to make it challenging but not frustrating to play. With two gameovers for the Warrior path and a special "secret" path Ash can take (similar to the Bijou stealth section) to earn the second power cell with no combat.
And I'm happy to say that!
- The Barb battle has been finalized with all of its new systems, such as a bleeding system, and extra action as Barb's satisfaction increases.
- The encounter has also been properly balanced.
- The second Game Over scene has been drawn and animated.

- New sprites were made to support both Warrior path's Gamovers sequences.

- New map section was made to support the two new gameovers
.One of the GO scene is a new secret area.
- Finally, both game over scenes were fully scripted and integrated into the game, with one of them offering an optional submissive option (if the right conditions during the fight were met). I won't say more.
One of the two game overs has a special suboption (If unlocked during combat)
With all of this done, what I'm left to do is:
- Adding the secret "alternative" option and its events to get the power cell if you don't want to fight Barb.
- Adding the VR options for Barb (Gallery, movie mode etc...)
With what's left to do, I can now say that I am about 90 percent confident about releasing a patch for the last bit of Barb's content in late May.
- 3072 AD - SPLATTER -
In regards to Splatter, not too much work was done, as for now my focus is on releasing the final Barb patch. However, some sprite work was done.
Last month I mentioned my "modular NPC" approach to making visual assets quickly.
This month I did the "mirror" of that process with sprites essentially.
Not everything is done, but I would say that 80 percent of the groundwork for that modular sprite work is done.

- SQUEAL LITTLE PIGGY -
More dialog and scenes were written to build the demo. The tutorial was also remade to include the new additions, like the new phone messaging system.
In addition, the modular NPC sprite file that is mentioned in the Splatter section will also be used to make a large number of "student NPCs" in the college setting as well as other random NPCs.
Once again, nothing flashy to show for now, as the work was only strictly coding, events, and dialog. But it's progressing.
- CONCLUSION -
Pretty good month, despite the fact that I lost a day or two of dev work due to familly issues I had to deal with.
I'm fairly confident about a patch release in May for the final Barb patch, which will add all the "warrior" patch content. I would say I'm 90 percent sure for a release at some point this month.
That said, the patch COULD be pushed to early June if some more polishing and bug fixing are required. But I don't think it will happen. I will keep you all updated as things progress.
All the while, more assets for the Barb update were made, laying the groundwork for her.
This month, however, I will be fully focused on finishing the last Barb update.
All the while "Squeal little Piggy" continues to get some work done, with still a demo planned some time this year.
