The court was brand new, built on land where a small temple had once stood. The temple had been a sanctuary for witches, a place to gather, gossip and share potion recipes. When it was bulldozed for lights, bleachers and a men’s volleyball court, the displaced witches didn’t just fume. They cursed the site.
