Sept Mid-Month Update + Upcoming iOS App Fee Info

Hey everyone I'm back again with the mid-month update for September 2024.

For today's news I'm still working on Mt. Lady's bonus image(s), but before that I plan to have the next set of WIPs for Miku, Lucy and Mai ready to share with you later today!

I will also have the next batch of Full Combo sketches for this month this Saturday the 21st!

One key take away is this quoted part below, but I suggest you read the whole article:

"This has two major consequences for creators:

Apple will be applying their 30% App Store fee to all new memberships purchased in the Patreon iOS app, in addition to anything bought in your Patreon shop.
Any creator currently on first-of-the-month or per-creation billing plans will have to switch over to subscription billing to continue earning in the iOS app, because that’s the only billing type Apple’s in-app purchase system supports.

Before we go any further, we want to be crystal clear about one thing: Apple’s fee will not impact your existing members. It will only affect new memberships purchased in the iOS app from November onward."

If more info comes out I will post updates about it. My understanding is this is the same way it works on Twitch, where if you use the iOS App it adds a percentage fee on top of the normal sub charge and all of the fee goes to Apple, not the creator nor Amazon for Twitch (or in this case Patreon)

This change also seems to be making all creators switch to everyone to Subscription payment plans regardless of how any patron currently supports them. This can be delayed for several months but I'll have to look into it more and ask some of my other creator friends what they make of it.
