Kunoichi Mikiri - Sprint Chronicles By Lunar Read Palace

I'll admit... I found this beautiful VERY hidden gem by beebee工房, and wanted to give you a full thorough review that'll knock you out and make your weekend, but alas... it's still under heavy development.

I rarely cover games at such early stages, but there's so much potential here, and I absolutely LOVE the pixel work, that you know what? f*** it.
Lets throw in a few more high quality titles and make this entire post dedicated to our beautiful and elusive ninja mistresses.


Revenge of Yogiri:

I have an insatiate hunger for competent ACT games, and RoY is no exception!
Right from the beginning you're introduced with a marvelous splash art of the menu screen.

Once you enter the game get into action right away, no story no intro (yet), just you, your sword, and your kunais.

🕹️ Control Yogiri with basic movement, jump, dash (+iframes), attack (hold down for combo), and special up and down attacks (costs mp).

Currently the only objective is to advance from the start to the end.
The stages are very linear, so the main focus is avoiding and getting rid of the variety of enemies along the way.

As 99% of ACT titles go, the H scenes are all triggered by getting grabbed by enemies. You'll first need them to tear your clothes, and continue to get assaulted to watch the good parts.

While there's not much else going for it, the gameplay is satisfying, and you can tell that the developer doesn't just want to create a project to dump all of their artwork and call it a day.

Getting through all the hazards and enemies without stopping didn't feel clunky, and was even a bit challenging towards the end, since your HP remains the same as you entered each area. (game over returns you to that area's beginning)

💕 The H animations are also made with phases, getting MAJOR thumbs up from me for effort! 👍👍
Pixel art is a lot of work, and most devs - rightfully so, decide to cut the effort and make a short loop of the same animation with some juice squirting at the end.

Now, I wouldn't just recommend this title if it wasn't for the promising workflow beebee is showing on their Twitter.
Plenty of animations, both finished and WIP, that were yet to get implemented.

⭐ POMIMIKO (Circle):

Now we're in a bit of a different territory.

POMIMIKO originally started as a CG & illustration only studio. They had no business whatsoever with video games.

They excel at bouncy, round, and cute artwork of girls with massive milkers.

Somewhere around June 20' they made their first ACT game debut:
"Escaping the Succubus! I'm in a Pinch!" (Why so many Japanese titles sound like Shonen episode names?).

🕹️ A simple game, or rather, mini-game, where you must use basic movement and double jump to escape the succubus lewd grasp for 50 seconds to advance to the next stage.

5 stages in total, one pixel H animation and one CG to each capture and defeat.
All artwork is top grade, and made me wish we'd see a more elaborated project with same high animation standards coming from this studio.

So how does this have anything to do with bouncy female ninjas?
Well, a year and a half later POMIMIKO decided to release their next title:
"Runaway Ninja: Mischievous Arts of the Kunoichi".

This one plays EXACTLY the same as the succubus game, only with a ninja theme instead.
Both games are equally as good and entertaining.

Escaping the chaser gets more challenging per stage, even with the grace of the resistance bar you're getting in case you'll get captured (and you will...).

💕 Unlocking the gallery is a pain however, since you need to receive a game over and start the whole thing again from 0.
* Thankfully you can simply open the save file located at a folder inside the root folder, and edit with a notepad the "false" into "true" inside the brackets.

If anything, I'd recommend checking out this circle as a whole, and not just their fun little action titles.
The level of their CG work is top grade, but must be enjoyed as a whole collection in my eyes, given the amount of content each title provides.

⭐ Kunoichi Mikiri - Sprint Chronicles:

Kunoichi Mikiri was already reviewed briefly before.

One of the better titles that because of the blog's early days didn't get a proper spotlight unfortunately.

There aren't that many auto-runners, let alone competent ones that appear in the scene.
Kunoichi Mikiri not only fills that void, but also adds a very fun, challenging, with critical decision making gameplay that manages to make you forget what you originally came for.

🕹️ Since there are no movement controls, you can either jump, attack, or charge your attack for a super move that also sustains you in the air for a bit. (great for skipping some parts)

Your job is to simply make it from start to finish, handling all of the enemies and hazards along the way.
Be warned that it is a difficult game, so don't give up, and you'll eventually make it through!

💕 All H animations are triggered by getting captured, plus additional CG scenes upon complete defeat.

This game does have lower quality in artwork compared to the ones above, but it makes up for it in return with a more engaging and fun gameplay than what many other ACT titles offer out there.

There are more sweet kunoichi titles out there that I've yet to lay my hands upon.
What I like the most about these kind of projects, is that they require the devs to commit to a theme, which means they can't just draw a bunch of generic naked models and make them hump each other.

Everything must make sense and work together in that concept, which as a result - more often than not, brings us a nicely fleshed out experience in both gameplay and sexiness.
