PictorCircus (Circle)

The one thing that I often struggle with when researching interesting titles, is when I actually do find projects that are worth our time, but look and behold - it's so simple that I can barely write two paragraphs.

Such was the case with PictorCircus' 2021 release Slut Life: a beautiful simulation game that delivered exactly what the title says, and... that's it!
So I wait, just like I wait on other recommendations I'm getting from followers, because I need more meat before I commit.

Thankfully not too long ago (May 11th), PictorCircus released another title called "Countryside Life", that uses the same engine as Slut Life, but with a deeper narrative and less straight forward than just straight up lewding each character you meet.

But lets start from the beginning..

Not much is known about PictorCircus, since they don't run a dev blog anywhere.
PC develop their projects on RPGMaker MV, which is very surprising, given the nature of of their projects gameplay.

When we see "RPGMaker" (of any type) our instant association is a classic top-down game where you walk into random people's houses looking for loot and interacting with their dog as if you expected it to say anything other than "woof!".

However, PC took the rather basic engine, and 1-upped the experience with their own completely original pixel tilesets, with gigantic models (relative to regular RPGMaker games) that create the illusion of playing a linear side-scroller roaming adventure.

As mentioned earlier, their first release was just about a year ago, called "Slut Life".
A linear side-scroller where you control Lisa - a hyper-sexually active college student, that will get down on her knees when you ask her how was her day.

The gameplay is as simple as it gets - move Lisa around and interact with the guys to either result in a lewd act, or listen to their pearls of wisdom along the lines of catching a shiny ditto in Pokemon GO to not distract them in the toilet because their pee is too scared to come out.

A very light-hearted game, with nice pixel art that gets the job done.
For me, the greatest appeal was how extremely carefree Lisa was, that each interaction was almost humoristic, as much as it was lewd.

Almost a year later, PC released their next game, called "Countryside Life".
A concept very similar to "My Erotic Summer Memories" by Dieselmine: Control Hiro, who came to live for a short while with his sexy female relatives who live at the countryside.

After a short introduction between Hiro to the 3 sisters, in an almost nonchalant way, the smallest one decides to join Hiro's bath, and the rest is as to be expected.
The actual gameplay will start shortly after, and while not as straight-forward as "Slut Life", it's still pretty simple.

Explore the house and the neighborhood to gain the favor of each girl. This also includes other characters that are introduced a bit later.
Just like in real life, you can lay a 10/10 chick by scrubbing the toilet and cleaning some leaves outside every day, once they wish to thank you for your hard work when gaining enough affection.

There are about 5 animated scenes for each main girl + a special animated CG as well.
The quality of the pixel art is a bit better than "Slut Life", but still very similar.
Although they are well-drawn, all of the scenes consist of simple looped animations, which isn't a big deal, given the large amount of available scenes.

I must say that in PC's favor, they don't blueball their audience for too long, and let you immediately access all of the H content as soon as you are able to create a save file.
Simply head back to the title screen, choose the final option and select your save -> then speak to the granny to unlock everything.

Overall, the way PictorCircus handled such a relative basic engine so well, along with their consistent quality work that knows their target audience, have spoken for itself, as Countryside Life having close to 10k purchases within 3 weeks, which have almost passed Slut Life's sales within a year.

People's hunger for quality pixel games keeps growing by the day, and that certainly includes yours truly.
