Can you say SOUL??
Sumomo Theatre has NO business being an H game for this kind of high quality of gameplay, polish, artwork, and references.
I mean, goddamn, it's just really fun to play, and honestly would make a perfect game to place at an arcade corner.
So you control this cute well-endowed girl (Sumomo?) that seemingly plays an act in a theatre with a different setting each time. Beat up the wild enemies that keep coming at you until you reach the boss.
Bosses are actually challenging to handle with all the rest of the enemies attacking you together.
As you keep playing you'll find powerup pick-ups that each one picked consecutively will move to the next power in-line at the powerup bar or you can choose instead to redeem. The powers are quite diverse, with some being permanent, while others are temporary. From hi-jump, to hadouken, to a fairy and a dragon - this game has it all.
Since the game isn't your typical brainless H game, then it does offer easy mode, with some changes to the powerups bar and twice the health.
It also has infinite mode where you can unlock extra CG on top of the unlocks at normal playthrough. This mode also has a special exhibitionist mode once you hit a certain threshold of kills, where you play with nothing but a few stickers that cover your body.
* H content consists of CG artwork and short defeat animation of each boss + the heroine.
As someone who plays a lot of variety games, the controls here are simply top-notch.
Everything feels so smooth and responsive. The pixel art is stunning and really gives that feeling of old-school Anime back in the 80's.
I just cannot recommend Sumomo Theatre enough if you're looking for a mix of a classic beat 'em up action with adult elements to it.
Do yourself a favor and play this beautiful gem.
