Need a specific set of sacrifices.

Okay, so you know how Will got the ability to manifest items stored by Phantom Hand when he added the Wraith Vessel? I'm actually going somewhere with that.

I want a very specific set of upgrades to advance the Wraith Vessel upgrade to something REALLY OP.

#1 I want to upgrade the manifestation effect, giving him the Ability to manifest the Relics that are imprinted in Phantom Hand. That will give him the ability to double-equip or loan out the super-powerful Relics he's got stored.

#2, I wanna allow the imprinted relic to be modified by modifying the manifested version and re-absorbing it. (that would allow the Wand upgrade)

So for that, I need 2 monsters who fit thematically with the concept of manifesting magical effects/modifying/combining Relics.

Floor 9 is Fae.
Floor 10 is magical desert.

Both are going to be high in magical effects.

Whaddya got?

I dunno, something about an angler fish dangling ideal bait in front of its prey. Seems less cool than everyone else's ideas

I'd go with a good old fashioned mimic. I'm thinking a mimic who eats items and then lays eggs that ARE those items until they hatch and eat their adventures at their weakest point. The Cuckoo mimic. Or something like that.

Changling is very Fae and can be for mimicking and replication. Desert would be Djinn and they're commonly associated with magical relics.

Just throwing a random suggestion in but I feel one fae/fairy trope is the body swap or swapping effects etc. If their relics effects were swapped for each other that could provide a source of modifying/combining relic effects when combined with sourdough. Either that or a creature like a harlequin thats theme is that its abilities/effects constantly randomise and change.

Manifest relic Fae creature, haven't fully decided on name or description right now. Mistbound Manifester? Their true form is something really nasty looking but they cover themselves with some illusion that makes them look like a different monster making it difficult to find one in the first place? (Could add to Travis' kit with this, upgrade the memetic camo to give option to look like someone specific instead of a someone else's problem field, he's not really an infiltrator but it would be some extra flexibility.) Creates "solid illusions" that break apart into mist if sufficiently damaged. With this upgrade a destroyed manifested relic would turn into a cloud of mist instead of a pile of dust (The small smokescreen would be a niche application but Will could probably turn it to his advantage at least once). This would actually add a limit to the modifications that Will cant change what slot a relic uses. Ex: He couldn't make a Ring of the Undead Retainer to double up with or lend to someone, because he wouldn't be able to get the relic dust for it. Unless this upgrade is also used with the Relic Eroder I came up with, that would let him get the relic dust of the stored relic.

Idea for the manifest: Relic mimics are a mysterious fae creature that uses its tricky nature to replace a relic, either at the moment of spawning from a drop, or infiltration of a party, and taking its place. Functionally and to almost all known senses, the mimic is indistinguishable from any other Relic and even functions as advertised. Until it senses an opening, at which point it will turn its "stats" against the bearer. Replaced a powerful Nuker buff? Well now it can turn said buff into a nerf, or redirect the attack if it uses the stats that it has buffed. When combined into Wills Phantom Hand, it allows will to create a physical copy of the original Relic when Will changes his finger. Now for the fun part, based on the system you've outlined they would probability count as eidolons and thus be susceptible to the effects therin (so they normally change whenever the finger is changed, but you can have multiple of them if the appropriate set and finger effects are up that give Will 3 butlers instead of 1.) The fun comes in that you could make this manifestation changing involuntary. Every time will changes the finger the manifestation either reoccurs or changes in place. Also fun shenyang on timing. Does the manifestation occur before or after the change. Thematically it should be after (as in what will is changing his active finger to). Not sure how all that would play in to the new set bonuses though.

Manifesting relics, maybe a fae who can summon illusions and then jump from illsuion to illusion, and/or create an illusionary landscape and pull parts of it into reality. Modifiying/combining relics is my first instinct something like a blacksmith or tinker, maybe in a form of another raid boss who has combined relics of past divers into powerful artifacts and uses them in battle.

Manifesting relics And Modifying relics These are very magical type things so I’d go with Some sort of Djinn / Genie in the desert level, maybe combine it with a Star Wars tattooine creature from the desert like a Jawa who like to tinker with mechanical stuff Fae: I dunno enough about fae tbh. Nymph? Member of the seelie / unseelie court under the hill? Go deep into the lore? Idk
