No chapter today.

Usually I pre-game on Sunday and get half a chapter done to make sure monday goes smoothly, but this weekend I was out and about.

I'm currently working on Chapter 59, but don't think I'll finish today.

You may have noticed the (?) symbol in there. That is an upgrade that wasapplied to Mason before he joined the Party, and I actually didn't invent one for him at the time.

If you'd like to suggest:

#1: basic upgrades for the (?) entry that don't wildly change the way the Ability behaves, go for it.

#2; More primary upgrades for June. she is seriously lacking.

#3: Secondary Abilities for Loth.

These would all be appreciated. I'm trying to spread the ability upgrades around so everyone has at least a bit of awesome and cool, not just the main character, but it's adding up to more than I can think of just by myself.

Comments

For Loth: for an upgrade to either of her primary abilities she should get a "wasn't me" ability that interferes with targeting and tracking abilities working off her traps. This is taken specifically as a thorns counter as that has been shown as a hard counter to her. If it is an upgrade to the vivarium, it would allow her to redirect it to an individual insect, which would lead to fun highjinks with the tracking aspect. If it was an upgrade to the trap smith side she could, maybe, link it so that such effects target the victim. Imagine Mark Wyrd getting hit in the face with a log and his thorns hitting him again. For secondary abilities I have two suggestions, chitin forging which allows her to mold shed exoskeleton into usable components. The second is Quartermaster of the Hord, that allows her to share stat bonuses from items to minion and party members.

Robert Nolan

June Ferrier : -an' all yer kin too- tracking via a tiny niggling wound from a flimsy splintering arrow, the tracking shows all the blood relatives of the wounded. Accuracy scales with her attributes, as does distance, but not both. Want to find a Wyrd family member, you can see where they walked in the past month (accuracy), or where they are right now (distance), but not both.

StrollingEye

June Ferrier: -slaughter time- you take out the beast and you get some fine cuts of meat for sale and profit. Why just kill? Make bacon as well. Salami, rump steak or aquatic ceveche. Does not apply to insects or birds.

StrollingEye

June gets a weird shape shift into something absolutely hellacious.

E

June: minor version of Wills aspect of the goat that allows her to make an easier path for the party to travel.

Gibby

For Loth, Trap Sense: allows her to see the best possible location for traps, can be used defensively to sense enemy traps and ambushes. Otherwise give her an ambush buff ability.

God

For Loth: Sacrifice: if there is any type of synthetic creature or robot on any floor. A gear or metal carapace. The ability to use insect themselves as components in a trap. Gives bonus resistance to said insects so they can handle to forces at play. Would allow Loth to breed and grow components instead of buying them. Would synergies with chimera for custom components. Would allow for faster deployment since insects would just have to move to certain positions instead of laying the trap.

Gibby

Idea for Reggie that's similar to take one for the team. A pseudo healing ability where he takes on the injury of another. So if someone who isn't protected by TOFT then he can transfer it to himself.

Gibby

upgrade or new ability every 10 levels

Tate Browder

Loth : delegation of the hive - as in she can delegate a task or role requiring intelligence and problem-solving, to one species of her hoard of insects. Helps traps get built without her having to monitor and oversee their every movement, just the broad strokes. Range based on Acuity. 'Build me a reciprocating saw trap' level of complexity now applies.

StrollingEye

For Loth: Antenna of a Giant cockroach, allowing her to stay alive a bit longer that she otherwise would, which would have been useful when she got hit with Mark's Thorns. Also, Wings of a giant cricket like monster, allowing her make bread that temporarily buff a single stat for a short amount of time. You can only have one stat buffed at at a time , any time any one buffs a different stat it cancels out the first one. The bread is a reference to this: https://aim2flourish.com/innovations/the-worlds-first-insect-bread . This would also make her a baker girl which I'm sure Loth would have feelings about.

chris

For Mason: Mitochondria, The Powerhouse of the cell, of a giant Deinococcus radiodurans, one of the most radiation resistant organisms in the world. Lets Mason temporarily overclock his resistance after using Feedback Shielding.

chris

For June: Some sort of kangaroo rat monster's tail, allowing her to change the trajectory of her arrows like in Wanted. Also, the fang of a saber-tooth cheetah like monster allowing her increase the velocity of her arrows mid flight, sort of like a sabot ammunition. Also, the ear of a bat like monster, increasing her hearing sensitivity with no drawbacks, allowing her to hear enemies all around her with out having to use her eyes. This would effectively make her a Scout Sniper. Unlike Alicia's artillery build, this build works best fighting with high mobility against single, distant, hard to hit enemies.

chris

Alicia can get penetrating rain of arrows or some kind of elemental modifier. Idk what rain of arrows does. I know you mentioned William oh eating magic in a prophecy before, might want to think of upgrading aspect of goat in that direction. Hope that wasn’t too much

RedInkQuill

Mason can also get concussive or knock back on conflagration

RedInkQuill

Mason should get phase up on phase shift. Empowering the chosen phase

RedInkQuill

Loth needs a secondary ability it looks like

RedInkQuill

For Reginald, he should get an upgrade that lets him protect multiple people. For June, she should get trailhome on trailblaze for making a camp with basic amenities and protections

RedInkQuill

No travis stats?

RedInkQuill

For Loth: Item shrinker: Spend a charge to shrink an item so a bug could where it. Bugged Items: Allow bugs to wear one singular item to increase their own stats.

Fleisch

I am confused, each one should be able to choose another secondary ability because they got to level 20. Am I correct? They get 1 every 10 levels?

Fleisch

Feedback Shielding - the ability to apply absorbed damage to empower an attack would be an obvious one if a bit Wyrd-derivative. Or the ability to focus the shielding on a specific body part, increasing the absorption while leaving the rest of his body unprotected. Primary Upgrade for June - Hunters Mark, to allow for tracking & potentially damage stands increase. Secondary for Loth: obviously, something Baking related or adjacent. Mobile Pizzeria would fit what we've seen so far. If we're beng boring and going for stuff that directly impacts her build: something Bardic that empowers her allies is the obvious one. The other options would be Blacksmithing with a focus on traps, or a way to protect her traps from AOE terrain modification. Alternatively, if we lean into her kobold heritage, some sort of breath attack might be interesting, or regeneration.

Cyrus McEnnis

For Loth some aoe buff to resistance that scales with focus for time and her resistance for strength

Skyra

For Junes primary ability upgrade options: I like the idea that she could use a piece of the saint to upgrade Hunter's Patience to Hunter's Patients and she can gain some healing adjacent ability to it. ["Hunter’s Patience increases the potency of shots the longer I hold them, and it’s got a surprising amount of knock-on effects with non-shooting actions..."]. The most obvious thing I can think from this is that she can selectively heal for a portion of the damage the shot would normally deal. I think it would be extra cool if the mechanism by which it healed was acupuncture. This dovetails nicely with the "surprising amount of knock-on effects with non-shooting actions" as she could potentially then use the acupuncture as a close range fighting style, a profession, a side hustle. It can easily be modified by way of the other two upgrades into a poisoners tool, or a mad alchemist build. Longer charge times leading to increased alchemical potency which would be useful if Will can apply 80% of a poison and regrow them for June. Even if you don't use the saint sacrifice anything related to medicine could work I think.

HeartHawk

For the ? on Mason's feedback shielding have it provide sensory reflection to the targeted creatures i.e. the target feels what Mason feels too. For * with June's hunter's patience have it increase the effect of your next charge use scaling with the longer she has been hunting a target without killing them, not limited to charges used on the hunting target. For a secondary ability for Loth the very basic, but oh so powerful, Expert Builder. Which would increase the capability of anything she creates by 5% per Acuity Don't know if these fit with your future plans but I can see them being fun, or very powerful.

Thomas

For June since her class is wilderness traveler she should be able to survive anywhere. So perhaps an ability that let's her produce or find food/water/shelter? That would be super helpful on upper floors, like she's a wilderness expert. Also it could help the story if her ability led her to baker girls or other crafters.

Mariposa

I assume Alicia's current level being listed as 12 is a typo?

Vinohr

Hope you get that rest!

Michael
