2nd half of 2024 plan
Added 2024-06-10 17:14:14 +0000 UTC I just realized I should share what I've got going on with you guys, so it doesn't sneak up on anyone (me least of all)
I'm planning on bringing the series to a merciful close soon. I'm not entirely ruling out further books in the same world or even more in the series, but not just yet. Give me some time. In the meantime, the next few chapters will serve as the endcap of the series for a while.
Next month: I will be going on a road trip with my wife to visit her grandmother for her hundredth birthday.
I plan on using that time to brainstorm and storyboard my next project.
I'm planning on a palette cleanser for myself, something a bit more action-y, and less...eldritch horror buried inside your own mind, just waiting to wake up.
I want to take the lessons and techniques I've accumulated and apply them all to a mindless tower climber series for funsies.
I also want to try to write a slightly different flavor of LitRPG, which I'll call the 'gear-based' litRPG.
If you've ever played Remnant 1 and 2, (or diablo 2-4) where you build a synergistic set of gear that allows you to do some pretty gnarly stuff when combined with the character's base stats and playstyle, you'll know what I'm aiming for.
Example: a ring that shocks the enemy when you dodge, another ring that extends lightning duration, and a necklace that makes dodges boost your magic power.
The build would be high stamina to dodge endlessly, with a quick weapon to take advantage of the stun granted by the shock effect to do crits.
The characters can only wear a very limited amount of gear, so no wearing ten rings on each hand.
The MC will of course have a massive advantage that others do not. I've got a great idea for HOW he gets it, but I'm still nailing down the specifics, and I'm gonna try to prevent the exponential growth glitch I foolishly included in Industrial Strength Magic.
Also, how many Girlfriends should the MC have? (this is mostly for my amusement, and not legally binding, lol)
Comments
As much as harem fiction can be fun, the trade-off of getting ten nearly-characters instead of one or two actual characters usually isn't worth it, IMO.
