Emily is growing more and more anxious. Her emotions are all over the place.
She calls her husband again, no reply.
She sends him a "WhatsApp"
"Hi darling, DID YOU DO THE LOTTERY? We got all the numbers. Please let me know ASAP xxx"
She looks at her phone.
One black tick - message sent
Two black ticks - message delivered.
30 seconds later, the ticks turn blue...Message read.
She waits.
No reply
She continues to wait.
Still nothing.
She messages him again.
"Please let me know. If you remembered to do it I will give you the best BJ you have ever had."
She then thinks to herself, how can she improve on the one she gave him last night?
She sends another message.
"I'll let you throat me and cum all over my face"
He has always wanted to do it. But she has never let him.
A short while later, she gets his reply.
It's an emoji.
It's too small, she can't make it out.
She can see tears. Is it laughing or is it crying?
WTF is it?
Her sight isn't as good as it used to be. She needs younger eyes to see it.
Not thinking straight, she runs up the stairs to her oldest child's bedroom. Her 4-year-old daughter Julie Ann is sleeping.
She wakes her gently.
"Sorry sweetheart, mummy wants you to look at something and tell me what it is"
Julie Ann sits up slowly, very sleepily she looks at her mummy.
"Darling. look at that small funny face. Is it laughing or is it crying?"
"Mummy, I'm tired. I want to go back to sleep." Julie Ann says in her sweet cute voice which makes Emily feel a little guilty.
But she has to know.
"Please darling, have a look for mummy"
Julie Ann starts to read the message aloud. She can read a little bit. She can recognize the letters but doesn't know the words they make.
"No darling, just look at the funny face. Are the corners of the mouth up or down?"
"They are Up mummy"
"Are you sure, so you think he's laughing?"
"Yes, mummy, I think so, I don't know. I'm going back to sleep now"
Julie Ann lays her head down and closes her eyes.
Emily looks at the emoji again.
She thinks it laughing too.
Does that mean he did it? Or is he laughing at her message?
But what if it's crying?
Does that mean that he didn't do it?
She goes back downstairs and tries to read. To take her mind off it
But she starts to daydream.
She has an Aunt. Veronica.
Who has made millions from event management.
Veronica can and does what she wants, and never has to worry about anything.
Emily wants that carefree lifestyle.
She thinks about a new car. A new kitchen. Even a new house.
She dreams about the holidays they can have—the world cruise she has always imagined.
But above all, she imagines the quality of life she can give her children. The future that they can have.
She hears the front door open. She jumps to her feet and hurries into the hallway.
She sees her husband. He's looking a little sad.
Emily's heart sinks.
Her husband has brought a friend back with him.
"Emily. Do you remember, Justin? I brought him back for a drink"
Emily has met Justin a few times. She thinks he's hot. She has secretly fantasised about him.
But he is a Bullshitter, always telling stories. Emily remembers the story that her husband says he told him, about how Justin was in a bar. And how he went up to get the drinks but a woman pushed him into the men's room and sucked his dick.
Yeah right, she thinks to herself. No woman would do that. Especially nobody that she knows...
A voice from upstairs calls "Daddy"
Daddy goes upstairs to see.
Emily is left with Justin. She is in no mood for conversation.
"I'm sorry Justin, but I don't feel very well. Maybe another time"
And ushers him to the door.
"Where's my drink?" He says as he is leaving.
After a few minutes, her husband comes down the stairs.
She can't hold herself back.
"Well..DID YOU DO IT?" she nervously asks. ....
She notices the wry smile on his face and the bulge in his pants.
