ANNOUNCEMENT: (EXCITING) CHANGES ARE COMING!

Hello everyone!

So, again but this time for everyone: Those who follow me on Twitter & IG may know that I've been working non-stop on my comic "Quantum Disaster" these past few weeks, but especially on building a website to host it once it's all ready to go.

Well, first of all, the official deadline (YES, FINALLY) for the website's opening as well as the launch of the first chapter is set for: Halloween, October 31st 2019!

And second of all, when that happens, this Patreon will undergo some changes! I'm letting you know well in advance so you don't get blindsided! Since I probably won't be able to keep up with creating original Patreon content while having to produce 1-3 comic pages a week even if I wanted to, the changes will especially concern the kind of rewards you'll get for each tiers: they will be more focused on Quantum Disaster.

So far, this is what I think is probably going to happen:

• $1 tier - "The Time-Traveler": You'll get the weekly page(s) of the comic one day before they get uploaded on the official website. (A step up from just being a tip-jar, if we're being honest here)  

• $5 tier - "The Clairvoyant": Early pages + you'll still get bits of "BTS" for this comic, mainly rough character sketches, key location & environment sketches, various research sketches, and so on. Some of these might feature additional content that won't appear in the story itself.

• $10 tier - "The Fate-Spinner": Early pages + "BTS" sketches + the step-by-step will be exclusively featuring the comic pages (so the sketch, ink & colors process), but I i'm open to post step-by-steps of other illustrations if I happen to have made something interesting that's not QD related that month + access to various polls about everything that has to do with this Patreon & QD. (what kind of "BTS" sketches you want to see next, building a background character that'll be featured in the comic later-on, merch options, etc etc, even polls about what kind of polls to do next! why not!)  

• (NEW!) $15 tier - "The Muse": Every other rewards listed beforehand + a little commission for a profile-picture icon (just like the one I use for mine on this website & every other social media). Simple little cartoonish bust portrait that you can either use for your own social medias and/or as your icon when/if you decide to write some comments on the Quantum Disaster website (because yes, there WILL be a comment section under each pages).
  This will be this tier's test run, depending on the demand it generates. If I can't keep up with it, I'll make it a temporary tier that opens only certain months but not all year round.

I don't know if I'll be able to keep up with monthly half-price commissions for the $30 & $50 tiers, but I'll keep them up at least a few a month or two after Halloween to see how it goes before making a decision! I'll keep you updated ♥

All these changes will be effective on October 30th, one day before the launch!

That's pretty much it for the biggest news regarding this Patreon!

Other general changes will include a drastic change in my online store. Pretty much everything that's currently in there is very old, so it'll probably get deleted and replaced with QD related prints and merch. And how does having your very own orange hoodie (with a little Maryne touch in there) sounds? ;) 

A webcomic launch is usually very pricey, there are a lot of expenses to cover as well as a lot of work involved, especially for a traditionally-drawn & painted comic:

• Paying my lovely web-designer the salary he deserves + co-designing the website along with him  
  
• Paying for the hosting domain  
  
• Hiring/paying potential consultants (in Quantum Physics, Astrophysics, Maori culture & history, American Sign Language & French Sign Language, etc) so I can do my job better and depict minorities I'm not a part of as respectfully and best as I can. And yes, also so the science in this very science-focused story doesn't totally suck a**! Self-teaching yourself Quantum Physics when you don't even know your multiplication tables can only go so far)  
  
• Hiring/paying a "beta-reader"/editor, because English isn't my first language and I want the dialogues to be good and make sense.  
  
• Buying bulks of A3 paper + supplies for the pages themselves  
  
• Literally  paying my rent and other life-expenses while I focus on this comic completely and won't be able to take on big commissions   

Additional work:

• The drawing, writing and painting of every pages (duh)  
  
• Translating each pages from English to French (oh yeah, i'm doing a FR version of this comic too! Because I love to suffer!! But mostly because I want my non-English speaking friends & family to be able to read this comic)  
  
• Keeping up with Patreon as it'll be my main (and probably only) source of income, since this comic will be available to read for free!

...That's why comics/webcomics are usually crowdfunded on Kickstarter or GoFundMe. Having already used my crowdfunding card to go to Canada (and to come back in France), I decided to take on the challenge to do this with what I already have! And that's you, lovely, wonderful people!!
Thank you for sticking with me and supporting me while I (finally) build what's essentially my life-project from scratch, it means more to me than you can imagine.  You're literally the reason this is all happening, so thank you from the bottom of my heart. I quite literally couldn't do this without you. 

Ps: Just know that if the incoming changes make you choose to jump ships and un-pledge for any reason, I won't be sad, or mad, and I will be okay! :) So do not feel pressured in any way to stay because of anything I said in this post! Money is important and should go toward things that make you truly happy. ♥

I'll come back to this post and edit it if I forgot something and will probably spread it to my other social medias when I feel ready to really tell the entire world about all of this and add a shit ton more pressure on myself!! :)
