My Sister, My Roommate by Sumodeine
Added 2019-08-30 08:01:00 +0000 UTCSumodeine approached me to try his game My Sister, My Roommate. I don't have much time to play other people's project these days, unfortunately, but I made an exception for Sumodeine, because I heard good things about his game.
My Sister, My Roommate is a chose your own adventure, visual novel filled with humor, wit, and sex. You play as Taylor, a naïve 18-year-old guy. Due to a University housing error, he is forced to live with his best friend from childhood, Nikki, when they go away to the same college. Taylor starts the game as a virgin and Nikki is rather promiscuous. They've known each other their entire lives and are super close - she's kind of like a sister to Taylor. Can she help get Taylor out of his shell and maybe help him seduce the seemingly endless supply of beautiful ladies? And maybe he'll even find true love?
Apart from the great writing, both Nikki and Molly stood out to me as characters. Nikki as a bountiful supply of sexiness and Molly as supreme marriage material. Another thing of note is Sumodeine's apparent truly heartbreaking dedication to the noble cause of veganism...
No bad endings. No stat tracking. No pointless grinding. It's just a wild ride where your decisions will impact the storyline that you will get to be a part of. The fourteenth update has just been released. and the game will be wrapped up at V.15, so there's a ton of content for this one.

the misguided thing is more because from the go he said he did not want Nikki to be an end route character but leaves dialogue and choices that make it seem like she will be, that being said i did post that after a relatively annoying session in the f95 zone forum on the game and was just annoyed and venting, I do still stand by the sentiment that the writing is great and that I really enjoyed what i played. i personally just am not interested in the game if nikki is not possible and molly seems to be the path he wants you to take.
2019-10-17 23:49:03 +0000 UTCYou sure he's "misguided?" You do realize that he posted that on a website that has certain... "guidelines..." regarding certain interactions with certain family members. You also realize the game is literally called "My Sister My Roommate," right? If someone asked me "is she an endgame romance option?" on a site that doesn't allow *that kind* of romance in a game that was named after her, I'd probably say "no" too... just... sarcastically lol. But yeah, I could be wrong. I do think his game is great even if she's not the final romance option because I happen to really like one of the other girls anyway. I could see it being disappointing for someone who wanted the other, though.

2019-09-08 02:45:42 +0000 UTCi stopped being a patron of sumo since they told everyone that niki will not be a end game route interest, but still left the options in the game making you think she might be. I really enjoy so much of the writing in my sister, it just suffers from a misguided creator who seems unsure of his own work.

Just not my cup of team with all the still shots or the very limited gif type animation, its would be an amazing game if there were some real animation not nessasarily like x moon but close to that...good luck with this, i will continue to check back if it is improved

2019-09-01 14:54:18 +0000 UTCSL is indeed a little different, because there's no serious competition for the girls. I didn't mind that Nikki in MSMR had other partners at the beginning of the game. I thought those scenes were kinda hot. Not sure if I would write them for my own game, but hot nonetheless.

2019-08-31 16:34:37 +0000 UTCWell there is not anything like that after, but it is in a way needed to setup Nikki as a character. After though you can keep her away from anyone else if you wish so. Also Nikki is not your GF or wife at that moment or in a relation with you. :P

2019-08-31 07:52:04 +0000 UTCIsnt this pretty much the opposite of your game though? I mean if you are quite, lets say fond, of family in particular. I would even say it comes close to the dreaded 3 letters. I know i had to give up on it early on as it was not my kind of game.
