Hey again everyone! 0.5.0 is pretty much done and I'm confident to say it'll be out Saturday the 31st!
I wanted to get it out a bit earlier, but I ended up adding a lot more in the backend than I expected, and the writing was more than I expected as well, being more than 0.4.0 which was the biggest update prior. I think it was because I underestimated that I was basically writing for three characters for this patch as well, but since the MC is one of them, it came with a bit more than the rest.
Here's a preview of the changelog for 0.5.0, but the final list will be bigger!
Features:
Added several main storyline events, progressing the main character's story.
Added an additional optional event for Dana, which is repeatable.
Added an additional optional event for Emma.
Added a Credits screen to display Music Credits, Patreon Super Supporters, and links to the socials.
Added an unlock count to the Gallery, players can now know how many scenes they've unlocked and how many are possible in the game.
Added a force advance button to the Gene Repair Minigame so that you don't run into a scenario where you're forced to break a set of correct pairs in order to complete the minigame.
Added some UI elements to the Gene Repair Minigame.
Added an ingame Phone. You can't use it to make calls yet, but it enables other features below.
Added a new Minigame/Interactable unlocked via playing the main story and helping Dana, accessed via Phone.
Added a Contacts menu to view romanceable characters that you've met.
Added a set of Profiles and Information such as full name, height, race, etc. for each romanceable character.
Added a Hint system to suggest what the player should do next to romance particular characters, accessed via the character's profile, via the Phone.
Added a new outfit for Emma: Casual.
Changes:
Changed Gigi's faucet repair from a dialogue tree to be button based instead.
Changed some UI buttons to appear darker when highlighted.
Changed when Dana's morning event can be triggered. Can now be seen outside of the prologue if she is stationed indoors, and leads into her optional event.
Changed Carla's bio and backstory. She's still a genius.
Fixes:
Fixed an issue where Foregrounds were not appropriately saved/loaded.
Fixed an issue where character positions and expressions were not appropriately saved/loaded.
Fixed an issue where loading into an area where a trigger could happen would cause a broken trigger to occur, bricking the save.
Fixed a bug causing the stock refill system of the Gene Repair minigame, it still gives random bases but it is far less likely to give unusable bases.
Fixed a bug with text speed tags for text effects in game which would break remaining text speed, causing the player to need to adjust the speed setting to fix it.
Fixed art errors on Gigi's faucet scene
Fixed art errors on Bridgette's apartment scene
Fixed an issue where Cam's silhouette was appearing on the title screen
Fixed an issue where Carla would not be at the bus stop during the week if you spent the night with Bridgette.
Fixed an issue where a Mel would not gain affection for the MC when having "Lunch" with her.
Fixed a handful of typos ("Jotential!").
