Where the Heck Have I Been?!
Added 2025-10-09 18:29:29 +0000 UTCHello everyone, I wanted to give a more in-depth update on my lack of posts and responses for the past month. This might be a bit of a serious post, so please be warned.
For starters, I finally, FINALLY got a new job. My current job had been cutting a lot of employee's hours due to new hires, and overall I had been feeling incredibly unwelcome working there. Turns out the job market in my city was absolutely ridiculous, but after a month of searching, I managed to find a job that will be able to help pay my rent.
Secondly, I finally cut ties with my old man. I had spent the better part of a decade dealing with his verbal abuse and perfectionism, and it had gotten into a routine where I hid information from him to keep myself safe, and then he'd blow up at me for daring to lie to him. This shit extended to the rest of my family too, and after enough verbal insults and transphobia, I got sick of it and finally blocked his number. It was an exhausting choice to make, but I'm hoping things will improve with him out of my life.
Third, I've been doing my best to break through my perfectionism in art. It's an odd balance to strike, to have your art style become more elaborate while also making sure you don't want to spend a third of a year on a single piece. I cannot thank my friends enough for helping me through this rough patch, and I'm hoping I can break through more of these ingrained habits.
With that all said, I'm doing a lot better than I have been for the past few days (or the past month if we're being honest), and I want to thank those of you who took the time to read this.
