Mei's suit got tighter... (pinup)

Watched a little more Pacific Rim the Black and got the urge to draw another Mei. But I felt like exaggerating the tightness of the suit, which never looks like this in the anime but hey... it is just a fanart.
I should get more reference for how light shines on latex. People seem to like it but I wish I was more confident in how it looks.

2023-08-11 21:22:11 +0000 UTCAside from reference of actual latex, Stjepan Sejic is definitely the artist to study for understanding how to translate that shine to illustrations. Krys Decker is also a good choice. I can't recall him doing latex specifically, off hand, but his rendering of fabric (and hair) as a whole it top tier. Hajime Sorayama is the go-to artist for shiny material study. He mostly does metal, but I know he has a few pieces which also feature latex (or a latex-like material) side by side with metal.
